  • thats the electronic music for the unconsciousness mind

  • PELIKANE PELIKANE!!

  • Who knew the Poppy Family experimented in psychedelia?I sure didn't until just now.

  • Kaleidascope is a great forgotten band too.

  • This is a great song, it's a shame that the band didn't continue in this direction. They had a great edge and instead went soft.

Oh, well, I'll always have this gem to enjoy!

  • love love love finding these folks

  • A great track, love it.

  • This shit was so cash...

  • CAN ANYBODY HOOK ME UP WITH FORGOTTEN PSYCHE BANDS OF THE SIXTIES??????? please dont say the doors!

  • @Mr00mofo

I wouldn't mind being hit up as well, not literally hit but you know what I mean lol.

  • @Mr00mofo

I'm a disc jockey and I collect music from the 1960's. There are many compilation albums and cd's out there. Check out Rhino records they have some good stuff. The chocolate watchband is a good band to start with. Arthur lee's band Love is one of the best bands ever. Most psych bands only had a song or two and were never famous. FYI, I'm starting a radio show called "Willies psychedelic surf garage". This is my bag, man. Feel free to contact me on you tube@ rasputinslovechild1.

  • @rasputinslovechild1 thanks mate, chocolate watchband are brilliant

  • @Mr00mofo get a nuggets or pebbles vol cd for starters

  • @sharpsuitedmod nuggets is cracking, thanks guys

  • Never heard of this one before. I'll have to listen to it a few more times.

  • wow wow wow wooooow

  • yEP!

  • But what the hell does it mean though...?

  • @subshrub

Marie is a mentally ill woman in an institution after the guy she loved died. "There's No Blood In Bone" means that now that he's a skeleton, the emotional investment she had in him "the blood" is gone with him into the ground, leaving her a hollow shell with nothing to live for.

  • This and Beyond the Clouds are my two favorite Poppy songs.

  • Good song... but I have to disagree on the Karen Carpenter comment. I would say Karen Carpenter's voice is far more soulful and emotional. Karen has a much stronger, deep and rich voice. Although Susan Jacks is a fine singer in her own right... just no comparison to Karen Carpenter.

  • @MrHanksWorld

I wouldn't compare her to Karen either...although not because Susan is less soulful and emotional. Just different.

I hear more a combination of a pop Tammy Wynette (especially in That's Where I Went Wrong) and Mariska Veres from Shocking Blue (especially in this song here).

    Definitely underrated at any rate.

  • @Polyhymnia61 I wouldn't compare the two either, but I'd have to give a slight nod to Susan Jacks just because she experimented with psychedelia whereas the Carpenters went nowhere near it.Not that Karen couldn't have succeeded at it had they went that direction, mind you.

  • @MrHanksWorld I'd have to totally disagree with you there.....but to each his own.

  • One of their best songs!

  • I agree,great voice

  • great song!!!
