Very well produced, I'm not really a massive fan of the kick though. It works for older hardstyle but if you're going for the nu-style sound, it's not ideal. I've been working on a nu-style kick in Reason myself, there's a video of it on my channel /plug

the format of the song and your view of hardstyle are wrong, a lot more work would need to be put into the mid-into if there is even one here, and the song should emotionally affect you in some way, and thats whats great about hardstyle.

@CokeacolaAddict You could say that about most, if not all, types of music in some way. For a tutorial, starting with the basics is often a good way to learn. If he were teaching everyone how to make a bigger, complex track like most hardstyle, it would be more difficult for amateurs.

Oh boy, this is so overrated just because it's from Dave. There are people whose first try on Hardstyle in Reason sounds better than this. And I don't want to be mean, it's just the way it is. You have to listen to more songs and learn a lot until you can make good tracks. Of course it's the same with all genres but Hardstyle is more complex than other genres.

To be honest I enjoyed the clap sample the most in this song. However, nice first try. But there are definitely more possibilities.

Check youtube: hakkuh gabber dance, (or something in that direction). Hakkuh refers to woodchopping, since the dance is like chopping with your legs doin crazy etc :P
