Wonderful memories of this and other songs by Mary Wells that I listened to on the radio (WSAI) as a young lad growing up in the City of Cincinnati. I loved listening to all the Northern Soul music that was prevalent back in those days. I often wish I still lived there.
On TVOne, there was a good documentary tonight on the show "Unsung" about Mary Wells. It was both amazing and sad. It is so shameful how horribly she and many of Motown's other founding artists were treated in terms of respect once the label's music began to crossover to different audiences. She had the "Midas" touch, but I suppose money talks and image sells, as always.
i just love Mary Wells....when i was in high school in the 60's i bought all of marys records...this is my favorite song ever... thanks for posting it......
