I use a bulk ink system for my Epson and it costs me peanuts. I love it and can print about 800 8 x 10 photos for about $20.00 of ink!

This printer totally sucks because of the following:

1. It goes through ink like crazy.

2. The ink is ridiculously expensive.

3. The cartridges have microchips that will not let you use anything but Epson ink.

4. Even when printing with black & white settings, it uses color ink--a lot of it.

5. When you clean the printer heads, it uses A LOT of ink.

6. As soon as one ink cartridge is empty, ALL print/copy functions stop cold, even if printing black/white & the empty cartridge is color.

@thehappythinker. I have an Epson 8400 and it is just as you say in every way. Very, very, expensive on inks.

The UK cost is between £32 and £38 for the full set and they ALL go out together. I think there must be a deliberate ploy to fleece customers. I don't feel like having happy thoughts about Epson!!
