  • I can relate to this song and it has inspired me to live up to my title: survivor. I survived all the abuses there can be, and by people who I was supposed to trust. I endured 13 years, full of near-death experiences. But too many kids weren't as lucky. This song makes me think of them, and how I can use my experiences to help prevent this. I know how it feels, and I owe my life to surviving this, and I am not going to waste it. Don't pity us, because we are strong. We survived, and live.

  • GOD DOES NOT OVER LOOK IT!! These sick people who abuse their children will have to answer to him one day.

  • This song was very, very sad. I cannot fathom how anybody could absue their children. I will say a prayer for any and all abused children (and adults too) tonight and pray that God delivers them from their abusers.

And to any of you who were and are begin abused remember this; you are not alone. God is always there and he will always love you.

  • this song really makes me cry...cause there are millions of people in the world who abuse there kids and think nothing of it like the sick son of a bitches they are. they need to be shot.

  • My 3 children want to perform this song for our provinces yearly festivals..they are 8, 7, and 4.

  • I think this song is biblical. Because if you follow the "greatest commandment" to love... Then you would honor your children with love and biblical discipline as God also discilines His children. But abuse is not biblical.

  • @flyleafangirl He is not trying to have the authority of God. He is saying that God doesn't over look the abuse and neglect. They will be dealt with and IF there were 11 Commandments that should be the 11th.

  • @flyleafangirl first off: what you claim was the eleventh commandment was not a new commandment, but an encompassing answer to the meaning of the original commandments which had been abused and misused by the pharisees.

    Second: ephesians 6:4

Third: the concept that blasphemy is composed of suggesting traits of god that are not expressly stated biblically is the sole reason for degradation of scripture, for examples of righteous men doing so see: psalms/job/christ.

  • profound.

  • I will also be preforming to this song in dedication to Caylee Anthony <3

  • If there was an 11th commandment, then honoring children would probably be it.

  • God shouldn't have had to say it. Some things people should just know are wrong. I mean stealing and killing it makes sense to forbid cause everybody can want something they can't afford and get angry at people. But where the desire to hurt your own offspring comes from I have no clue. I know the song is not meant as a true religious song but on the religious note the apostle Paul did warn about Child Abuse in his epistle to the Ephesians.

  • @shilohman07 Christ Himself even said that if anyone should offend these little ones, it were better that a millstone were hanged about their neck and they were drowned than if they were ever born. That tells you how much He disapproves of child abuse.

  • First heard this song while driving on the Interstate. Had to pull over. Got the CD. Listened again carefully. I ve watched this video several times without comment. This should be the Anthem against Child abuse. Mr Raye sings it as he beleives it. We can all have an opinion on what God thinks, I 'll keep mine to myself. But the 11th Commandment would have been appropriate. Seens like it was just overlooked. What with the other 10 that onone really obeys. just an opinion.

  • Many people don't realize it but it is usually not the physical abuse that does the most damage, but all the emotional damage that comes with it. I was abused as a child and the physical abuse fades quickly, but the emotional trauma lasts a very long time.

  • Song gives me shivers whenever I listen to it..

  • I guess 9 people accidently hit the dislike people because of their tears on this video too....

  • most of its good except where he says did God overlook it, child abuse is not God's fault, He gave us free will and some people just abuse it

  • @mbmikebak That's the point of the song and especially the whole last verse "God does not overlook it!" God gave man free will. But he'll never overlook his precious children

  • feels shivers down my spine.....ILove this Song

  • God did not forget His little ones, He focuses more on them then the adults.Children are people too, dont hurt them.

  • Continued- Are you aware that close to 4 children a day aere killed everyday because of child abuse? there is more than enough reasons for this video to be made. I do realize that there are a pelnty of spelling and possible grammar errors in this and the last post, but that is because of the fact that I have learning disabilities from the abuse that I suffered as a child. I left them there on purpose. You are something else by not listening to the entire song before stating your opinion.

  • bumpenhour, If you listen to the song, you will notice that he does say that. He specifically states that GOD DOES NOT OVERLOOK IT. Collin Raye is stateign that it was written, just not as a commaandment. I cannot count the number of people that hve been helped by this song. It does so much to help heal those that have been abused. I cannot thank Him enough for writing and rpoducing it. I like the longer veresion where he talks about Orange county CA even better as he give statics with it.

  • @IronButterfly1151976 I believe that "honor thy children" has always been and always will be a commandment, just not included as an official "Ten Commandment." And the fact that Christ Himself said that an abuser of children would be better off killed than ever born says that God certainly does not overlook it. And I'm sorry for your suffering as a kid. I was abused too, but no disability came out of it.

  • Love this song!!!

  • Bad theology and a nasally voice singer= bad song. The motives are good though. The father of a household should be honored by all those in the household as Jesus Christ honored God the Father. That doesn't mean that a father can beat his kids or wife. The idea that this 11th commandment was left out of the Bible is bogus. Ephesians 6:4- 'fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring then up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.' The amount of responsibility a man has in a

  • 8 people have cold hearts, no compassion and they obviously support child abuse. if these arent the reasons then those people should comment back and tell us why before they get caught

  • Thank you Collin

  • This video needs more views, its such a heart felt song :(

  • 8 people are heartless

  • the 8 people how dislike this video are nothing but dum asshole. how need help. this is a great song and video that everyone should see. no one should be abused in any way.

  • No Child or Teen or a person should be abused, They did nothing wrong.. and some people just effin sicken me.. Why is it nice or why would you even effin consider hurting someone as an okay thing? People are just so mean and messed up in this world.. Its just wrong! I haven't experienced it.. But I know people who have and Its really sad. To all whose had a rough life with abuse I keep you in my prayers, You really deserve happiness and a life without the pain! God Bless!

  • this song just sickens you...its so sad that any person would touch a little girl..or hurt any child...a shame...what has our would become

  • This song has helped me to recover!!! Unless you've ever been in these little kids' shoes you don't know how it feels! This is a VERY heaing song. Thank you for such a WONDERFUL song!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • i cant belive how people can be so cruel y cant parents just treat there kids with respect kids should not be beaten i hate that so much y people y

  • Dont feel sorry for us... we are just like you, the only thing different is that we have a different story to tell. Its not a happy story but its our story. We just want to feel like normal. God gives us two choices.1) Lay down and give up..be scared all the time... play the pitty card 2) fight for what is ours.. our lives..be strong and know your not alone and face what is the truth and what is real.

I chose option 2. people say its easier said then done... I say its easier done then said.

  • @ambaybay777 ur an increadable person. and i admire people like u who choose to come out of it as a stronger person. God bless you!

  • I wish I had heard this song when I was little. My brother, sister and I were physically abused, sexually abused, and mentakky abused. For me it haunts me and I am not the person I wanted to be. I am thankful that my sister died and doesnt feel what I feel 24/7. As for my brother he deals with it by joining the military and is in Iraq. Comes home feb. 13th. He is 21. We both drank a lot to feel better. My husband and child help me. Dont be afraid there is good out there. I know of it!!!

  • This song always makes me cry. I have never been physically or sexually abused, but I feel mentally and emotionally abused at home...and it affects my personality a tad...

  • I almost cried :'( Really.. A very meaningful song...

  • I wish I could find them all I have 5 nieces and a nephew

  • Honor Thy Children.

Theres nothing worse than the death of a child.

Things never get back to the way they were.

Thou shall not cause thy children pain.

God bless you angels, I love you.

  • This is heartbreaking. I don't know how anyone can abuse a child, let alone their own. May God bless and keep them, Abused children will have a special place in Heaven.

  • i was sexually molested twice when i was younger and i have learned to put it behind me but it still haunts me every year around the days it happend. i try to help other's that i know have been through the same situation and help them through it. everyone who was either abused sexually or verbally or physically should be strong for not what had happened to them but for what they have to look forward to in life. life is full of great surprises dont let the bad ones ruin it for you.\

  • it wasnt your bad it was just a mistaken identity. I have grown from mine because I refuse to let it get me down. I can help someone through theirs. Ive been there I know and I understand what they are going through.

  • this is the second song ever to bring a tear to my eye and im not one to cry i passed a kidny stone with a straight face iv ben shot not a singly tear droped yet this song manneged to bring a tear to my eye. thank you for posting it thank you

  • Wow. This is incredibly well-done. I have a secret attachment to songs like this. Alyssa Lies, The Little Girl(john Michael montgomery) Ask Me(Amy Grant) My name is Luca(susan Vega) Hell is for Children (pat benatar) and even Dear Mr. Jesus. I spent my childhood trying to disapear. From my mother. I would do ANYthing in my power to save others from that. these songs have given me back my life.

  • There shouldn't have to be a Commandment like this because it should be automatic. You made that child, your responsible for there care. Not like this. You don't want a child, shoulda thought of that before.

  • @schneke1 i totally c ur point and i wish He would to. somethings in this life we'll just never understand but we shouldn't hold it against Him.

  • @schneke1 because if He totally controlled our lives than we'd get upset cuz we wanted to do things our own way. He gave us life and left it up to us to decide how we wanna live it. it makes me so sad to see this kind of thing, but this is the way satan likes it. it's so horrible! makes me realize how great God is and how blessed His ppl are even through the hardest of times.

  • this is horrible! i can't imagine being in that situation and i can't imagine what would possess any parent to act so sinfully! i wish so bad i could do something!

  • The power behind his soft voice is unbelievably amazing. I'm in pure awe of the messages behind his songs. Collin Raye doesn't always "sing to sell" (about sex, partying, living out in the boonies), those are great songs, don't get me wrong, it's just that not everyone can display such heartfelt messages. Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, John Anderson - I can't see some of these newer artists taking the time to share messages about child abuse and alcoholism like Collin. For that I'm thankful.

  • I plan on writing a novel on child abuse. As someone who witnessed her sister being abused and tortured throughout my childhood, and being abused when really young, I believe people need to realize that this doesn't just happen in the movies, it happens all around you

  • The seed we sow are the crops we must reap!

  • fuckin sucks

  • I had some crazy bad stuff happen to me as a child, and this brought it all back... What an amazing and powerful video!

  • The ironic thing is today, I asked my teacher where the commandment 'honour thy children' was.

  • Anyone else get chils. This song message is amazing.

  • I saw this for the first time today and cryed so hard.. I take care of kids in this postion almost daily. very touching couldn't hve been done any better.. thank you

  • This a really good song and i'll admit I am a 13 year old but I still think Honor thy children would be a good commandment because we deserve to be loved along with our mothers and fathers!!

I only just found this song and it made me feel lucky so i'm going to go and give my parents a hug and a kiss and say I love them.

    They'll think i've gone crazy!!!!!! haha =)

  • @MissILoveMusic13 Good for you!! :)

  • @KeldanElite Thanks!

  • While this is a very disturbing song and video, it is one of the most important songs and videos of all time. Thank you Mr. Raye for having the heart and soul to do this. Not for the money but for the message. It caused me to become involved. Come on you 1st ladies. You want a cause. This one is it. But wait, where was Hillary? Barbara? and the great Michelle? On this issue, nowhere to be found. To hurt a child is to kill a soul. Get involved!!!!!

  • I have a 7 year old son. This song brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. How could anyone do such things to children?

  • Wow. That was powerful. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • im raising my brothers kids and when i hear of some one abusing their children i look at my 4yr old nephew and my 23 month old neice and i think to myself how could any one ever hurt their children like that?

  • i can't see how anyone could do that, they'd have to be heartless bastards

  • This song hits my heart. Please everyone take care of our children they are our future !!

  • It isn't always physical, but emotions and mentality may be more controllable than physical pain, doesn't stop the hurt though.

  • I wish Child Abuse doesn't exist:(

  • This is sad :(. That really breaks my heart. God is love, Man is........

  • thank God i was never abused. but my parents both grew up in abusive homes. mom was hit on, put down, and sexually abused every day for a long time. i dont know how ANYONE could do that to a CHILD! or ANYONE for that matter!

  • i wish someone woud do this w the lyrics

  • i was molested by my dad everynight for 5 years my mom had a job at a hospital & worked until 1 AM so my dad had time where my mom wouldnt know i only told my best friend & she tried to help me but no matter what she said, she couldnt get me to tell anyone until 1 day he started to beat me also so i told my mom & she was yelling at him but he got out his gun and shot her. my mom died when i was 16. but that night i was with my friends, my dad burned down our house with him in it.

  • @masksinger101 (DROPPED HIS JAW) That is unbelievable!!!! My goodness ppl have no heart for love :(. God has more love than anybody else, even the sinners. (sighs) Some ppl think Hell is alot of fun ACK! Hello!!! Going the wrong way! Heaven is alot more fun than you can ever imagine. That's the right way! Keep God first in your life and you will be blessed.

  • @Instrumentalduet thank you. i try as hard as i can to keep god first.

  • Collin is right on about what he sings, but what many don't realize is that this does not just pertain some parents who may be abusive. Our government also abuses our children when they take them from good parents (where they are loved) because of some false accusation and put them in other environments where they are physically or sexually abused; or they are abused by the act of robbing them from the loving care of their parents for weeks, months or even years. This insanity has to stop!!

  • The worst is that most of us watches this video and thinks 'oh, how bad, how sad'. And they really mean it then, but they forget about it as they swith to a happier song while maybe in there neighbor's house a child gets raped.

But if someone, after watching this, decides that they will help the abused children than it reahed it's goal.

I pray god to help those peolpe.

  • This is a very important part of Music with a message. My question is, if the industry is so in tune with the causes of the people, why not the recognition that this song so rightly deserved. One man. Not a group of do gooders. " We are the world" See me? I care. I' m a good person. Buy my records. Bullshit. SORRY, GOT CARRIED AWAY. When it comes to children, I can not for the life of me understand why someone would want to abuse them in anyway. Destroy the innocense. Sad

  • The video is so hard for me to watch... The poor kids...

  • Collin Raye is such a powerful and emotional singer

  • Great song! They should make a touched by an angel movie and have it called the 11th comandment and play this song! GOD I miss touched by an angel

  • Such a sad song, but most of the truthful ones are very moving.

  • Really hopes you eyes up. Unspeakable evil for someone to abuse their loved ones or even a stranger.

  • it is written Exodus

22:22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

    22:23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;

22:24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

  • there are all types of abuse i was abused by my own father but it is hard when i heard this song it made me want to stand up for all abused children from emotional abuse to the sexual abuse not matter what type it is still scaring to have going on it is something that we should so stand up for them let them know they are cared for because we all do like the song says god doesn't over look it honour thy children

  • for all you who rape and beat your children, or anyone for that matter, you hope I never find you, bc i will gladly beat you to death

  • @TheArmydude2011 im with ya we are spossed to treat our naboors how we whant to be treated

  • keefer2111, Good for them! I doubt he would ever have said anything to the authorities and it may have stopped him!

  • I first heard this song round my friends, I'm survivor of abuse and was molested as a young child, I live with this pain every day of my life and when i close my eyes i have flash backs and hear my abusers deep breathing, I'm haunted by wot happed to me, people that can do this to children need killing, this song is so moving, it always brings a tear to my eye, fantastic song.

  • this song is great and does speak the truth about alot of children this song has made me cry and i rarly ever cry i have 2 boys i love deraly and would never hurt them granted i dont have them i will do whatever i can to vist them but this is a good song but extrmally heart breakin for me to watch cuz i dont understand how ppl can just sit there and hurt the children of this world.

  • i was raped, abused and molested when i was 14 my parents blamed me for it :( nobody would believe me or tell me its okay your safe now, i was all alone. now that im 24 i work with babies everytime they cry i run over to them and comfet them so nobody would hurt them.... nobody was their for me so now i have to be their for the children that i watch and look after...

  • Very Powerful.....Excellent video, well done..Thank you!!!!!!!!

in time we do heal to a degree yet there are scars that will always remain...

We reach a stage where we can extend our hand to another not as far along in their journey and share our strength with them.

For all survivors out there: You Are Not Alone!

  • thank you very much. no one knows what its like unless they have been through it. for those who have i wish you happiness and growth from your pain. like i have been able to the past 17 years.

  • @SYCOASSMUTHA I've been through it as well, and it's only been a year since It's stopped, I'm still haunted by it. You give me strength that it'll pass :)

  • @SYCOASSMUTHA if you could tell me how, it would be the best christmas gift ever...

  • @fireflyinsanity What do you mean

  • Comment removed

  • @SYCOMUTHA I mean...how do you get happiness and growth from your pain like you have?

  • My Dad knew of a guy who molested his daughters and a bunch of guys waited for him when he got home from work tied him to a tree and beat him with a whip. this was in England when he was a kid.

  • @keefer2111 hope they did, people like that should be hung from a tree not tied to one

  • @keefer2111

    Awesome!

  • @keefer2111 they should have taken a wire brush and stuck it in the mans but

  • @delannasw i think the punishment for child abuse and molestation should be to do to the person everything they do to the children.

  • @keefer2111 Nice. I would have prob hung him by the legs inside his house and shut all light from the room, come back at random times of the day beat him up for about 3 months, but thats just me.

  • @ggglllllll ya and after that cut off his dick.... but thats just me

  • @rotckid Nice.

  • @ggglllllll Well I felt like i needed to say it lol

  • my mom beat me and sold me to the neighbors so she could get hi. and when she couldnt get hi she beat me more. i didnt understand what the pain was. i didnt know how to deal with it and i didnt know what i did wrong. i saw and heard this song and it brought back every thing. i grew up and found out it all. collin raye thank you so much for bringing to light the pain that kids feel from abuse. thank you so much

  • 11th Commandment, Quitters, and A Soldier's Prayer has to be the top three best songs by Collin Raye. All three of them are so emotional.

  • @johnbacktun

You are absolutely right. They will have their judgement day. But, until then, we as a people have to do something to stop child abuse! This is simply not acceptable!

  • amen to that

  • This video makes me want to visit violence upon those who would abuse helpless children. I am sitting here, shaking, because of the cruelty of some people. But, at the same time..I know than when the judgment day comes, they're gonna get what they deserve.

  • ver good song although the eleventh commandant is actually john 13 34 and 35 and it says a new command i give you love one another as i have loved you only then will everyone know you r my dechibles.

  • Added this to my Worship Jesus playlist. In honoring one another, we honor Christ Jesus!

  • SOOOO many great songs by this man; hard to choose a favorite!! THIS IS ONE OF TWO OF MY FAVORITES!!! Second one

    is A Soldier's Prayer!!

The man himself is a God-send! Just ask my hubby! He met him and I was in the building where the concert was held I saw him at weeding thru people to get outside! A bit too late to meet him, but managed to get an autograph!

Collin Raye DESERVES the best life of everything for the way he appreciates fans and fame!!!

  • gooooosebumps!!!!

    this song is soo sad!

and it sucks what kids had to go through.

when I was young, I used to get a spanking on the bum, but my dad stopped when I was 5 or 6 because I used to laugh at him. Never again did he touch me. Children are so innocent, they don't deserve this. I just want to save them all :(

  • 2:30 to 2:35 look how young that kid is, and she's freaking out at him! he's like two, he CAN'T cause trouble that bad where she has to yell at him for it, and he DIDN'T cause trouble!! That shows how sick people who abuse kids are!!

  • takr couage do nt be afraid takr my hand for it is i the son of god

    matt 9;2

  • this song is so sad, im using it for a project about child abuse ♥

  • My dad broke my collarbone when I was four, and everyone wonders why i have trouble trusting

  • This song reminds me of my best friend so much it's scary...

  • @milerzmileycyrusfan

Who, Mandy, Cindy, or Jen? It reminds me of all three, and even of Johnny a little

  • @Kylefan12341

Mandy, Cindy, Jen and Johnny. All of the above :'(

Did you see Cindy's hands?!? I swear to God If I didn't swear to her, the cops would be all over her dads ass

  • Those were basic rules to live by.

  • this song is so sad. and it is like my life use to be.

  • I am going to therapy to help in the healing process thank you for your understanding and support

  • I am sorry

  • omg some1 needs to do something about children getting abused

  • Someone had asked what my cousins did to me when I was younger...

I was raped from the age of three until I turned twelve and got the courage to tell my family...

They were around 16 when it started and I still live with the impact of what happened. Currently I am attending therapy to help coop with it.

  • God Bless you ...be brave be strong

  • I know how you feel. The exact same thing happened to me..Except it was my step brother and some of his friends. 3-12. Except...when I told, I was called a lying bitch. It' something that I've lived with.

  • i went through stuff like that to. i understand what you must be going through its very hard to get over. i hope you feel better someday

  • This song always makes me remember my past. I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • this makes me sick to my stomach.... i can't believe some parents..... its not imaginable.

  • The video makes me cry... I dont really believe in god.. And i have my reasons why, but this is such a good song, it reminds me of my life.

  • this video is very sad it reminds of someone i know that is very mean to people alot.

  • awh :(

  • omg

  • that man take about me . win i was kid

  • Comment removed

  • WOW , I CANT WATCH THIS ISNT THAT SAD

  • its so sad what some people do these days. Poor children

  • honor thy children

  • The 11th commandment is the 1st commanment: God exists in every Person! Honor Thy God in Thy Children! He created His Children that They should live.

Let us honor them as they should be!

  • Awesome video! Thanks for uploading

  • his songs always seems to make me cry...this is the 2nd one of his songs i have heard for the first time this week that has made me cry, thank you for posting this video

  • What a POWERFUL song from Collin, gives me chills...

I miss him and his singing, he has such a WONDERFUL voice and talent, he SHOULD STILL be doing music and the radio stations should still be playing it... he was and is always one of my VERY FAV artists from the day and he is so underrated... sadly.

    I love his stuff...

  • 100% agree with this, it may be a song but it really should be an 11th commandment, I mean you can get life for armed robbery but abuse a child & get a few months??? there's something badly wrong there :(

  • U irish?? Luv Colin Raye x

  • yes I'm Irish, colin raye is a powerful singer, i had tickets to hal kethum this sunday but his guitarist died, very sad

  • Type your question into a browser. For downloading on IE, put your cursor over the video box. Sometimes a box pops, says download this video. Sometimes you need to download a browser like Firefox with add-ons or Chrome if your legally downloading.

  • Hello there is a presentation that I am putting together and I want to use this video. Does anyone know where to download the video?

    Thanks

  • I love this song.....it gets to me every time...

  • very powerful

  • Thank you for this brilliant video...

So painful to watch... but so necessary to see !!!

  • This is the first time I listened to this song and I have it memerized already. This song made me cry and I don't usually cry in movies or songs or books for that matter. this is the only song that has ever made me cry.

  • God doesnt over look it...He makes you and me to reach out to these kids and give them hope and love ..even if you can't give them homw you can always say a prayer..prayer does wonders..

  • It's nice isn't it-daydreaming?

  • AMEN to that nun, I SO TOTALLY agree, Karms IS a bitch and so is God's wrath for people who do this!

  • So many things wrong with this world today. Its a shame.

  • such a powerful song

  • Holy... that gave me chills. Wow... powerful, and yet so true.
