Macs have an odd issue once a year. A Windows machine has major problems all day long. That's all I remember of a Windows machine; problems, problems, problems. I just watched a video where Gates admired Macs. He said half of MS's profits had come from a Macintosh back then. I personally don't care who uses what. I care what I use. I only wish I familiarized myself with OS X earlier.

Fanboys on either side of the argument annoy me. I love my PCs and I think Apple has a great platform. Its not for me because I can not ever have the latest and greatest technolagies. Apple takes their time to integrate them into their system so it works well. PCs that work is relagated to the actual makers fo the product, and its usually their fault for things not working right. Plus, both break. You just see more broken PCs then Apples because they are sold about 30:1 over Apple computers.

Apple did such royally during the 90s. The whole pre-OSX Mac was basically based on some incredibly old 80s code that didn't even offer full support for the friggin' protected memory.

Actually, before OS X they didn't even have memory protection at all. They didn't even really had multitasking. They had "cooperative multitasking" which is faking multitasking by relying on the good behavior of the programs you are running. Both was true for Windows 9x/ME as well though.

Both things where nightmares for developers of native applications, since a simple (and likely) mistake could always crash the whole system or lock it up.

Thankfully that time is over.
