Morality is not based on the bible and it's definitely not based on what body part goes with what. Homosexuality has been preserved in DNA for thousands if not millions of years (there's a reason why it's so common in nature). Many biologists propose a benefit to populations for the fact that it has been preserved so long.

When I was in the Marines we had gay members. It was no big deal. They made it through boot and served along side us. They had the same values and goals that we had. Honestly, other than sexual orientation, they were no different. A Marine, gay or not, is deadly and something you don't want to be the enemy of.

@FilmsareGreat First off being gay is not a fad its been around since at least the start of recorded history,the discrimination against gay people or differently orientated people is based on social constructs that have simply evolved.Anyway if you claim to follow the rules set within the bible as I assume you are then why focus on homosexuality, what about Deuteronomy 22:11 where wearing clothes of mixed cloths is a sin(I am sure that nice polyester and wool blend is cool though)

Doesn't matter what you do in your bedroom, why exile someone because of their preference. If I were shot while in combat I am not going to ask the person who saves my life if they are gay or straight. As far as I see it this is just the military fighting its self. But this is what happens when a majority of our military are people from backwards towns who still think blacks are an abomination. @JayTheLovely that is not the issues they were concerned about when implementing the dont ask dont tell policy. For example they were worried about the effects of having gay Marines deployed for long periods at a time and the effect of that on the Marines as well as the unit as a whole. having openly gay Marines on a deployment for long periods at a time may cause problems. That is what they were worried about. It has nothing to do with the military being sexist.

Being gay isn't a bad thing, and being open about it should absolutely not affect your ability to serve in the military. I trust ALL of my fellow SEALs with my life, and his sexual orientation would have no impact on that. "

My brother is a Navy SEAL. He was captain of the varsity hockey and soccer teams in high school, popular, just all around a likable guy (the classic description of a gay-basher). Even though he's heterosexual, I remember him saying this to me: "serving in the navy along with gay men shouldn't be a big deal. They have the same moral standards as anyone else, and if they know you're straight, they'll leave you alone 'that way'. (continued)
