watching this video brought back lots of memories during the time i was in band.. i was a flag nevertheless the fun we had was priceless.. Ms. Rollins was awesome!!!!
All this poeple running they mouth first of all the band director left and since we got a new band director we have to start from scratch. we suked no lie but as years went by we got better little by little and now 2011 we have gotten so much better all you all alumni should go back and helped but they never did. but if you get a chance yall should come back and check us out we are still a small band around 40 or so but we have gotten better tone wise and power
It's hard to watch this! I was part of the best band and when i was there we were #1 in our district. music wise. I think they should have some of the alumni go back and help out the band again! They shoulda never messed with the music program! or other extra carricular activities.
I graduated from sterling 06 i was not in their band or nothing like that but shit i do remember from the years 02 til 05 when this school had an amazing band and not only their band was good, but also their ROTC. Shit but this what hisd gets for having a sorry ass staff. it really affects the youth community, cuz this is how they keep their minds occupied instead of gangs and drugs. and this is not the only school affected, check smiley and forest brook, and is mostly on the northside of H-Town
will yall actually have a band and dancers when yall play us (davis) this year?? every year sam houston's side is dead as hell for the past 4 years with no music, no students, nothin.. bring it this year
WOW, I can't believe the band I was in dropped down this far. From 2002-2004 we were the shit... not to mention we were 5 times bigger than this, about 100 band members, and alot more talent. What the hell happend?
fdfdsgsgfd: I'm glad you are trying because that's the first thing you all need to do. Advice from a 04-07 band member: First of all, have an intense summer band camp seriously work on scales! To be honest the band needs a clean pitch. Exercise will help but mostly practicing on your instrument. I wonder if you are allowed to have after school practice because that's needed. Also, next year recruit band members with some experience or willing to learn. Have fun, work hard, and don't give up!
mjsmell, that's a nice thing to say...and yeah we're making the band better next year, this year we were just trying to build something simple up...but we've done good lately...we're having band camp next year, and we're practicing after school and we're planning on recruiting...
that sounds like a good plan... it's nice that a new chapter is beginning and I think people don't understand that you are just beginners. Just be very proud of being in this band because it's very special to many of us who were in it. Take care of our trophies, that's if you still have them, and make your own history. lol keep in touch
yeah we still have the trophies...we were planning to knock down the lockers in front of the bandroom and build a trophy case (since we don't use the trophies)

I wouldn't mind helping out the trumpets. I don't have any credentials lol but i did get my section the very 1st section of the year haha i had them like a pack of pittbulls trained but ready to kill at anytime. this is Ramon btw
