@ecfootball63 I don't have a truck or a way to get to the trails so I have to have a street legal bike. I had trouble getting traction in the mud. When it isn't so muddy the WR does really well. I also invested in an air pump so I can drop the pressure a bit and get more traction and then pump the tires back up when I get back on the asphalt. Eventually I hope to get a truck and then I might get a real dirt bike. For now I'm stuck with a dual sport and just have to make the best of it.
Hate new boots so tight and unforgiving then all of a sudden the aching feet go and its like magic they are broke in ;-) Wish i was in your boots here Kryten mate this is what i loved doing like 20 years ago, Miss it lol
Hey I don't no if u remember me but email me so we can talk I was the guy that was getting into the army and still trying to get a bike. Ur vlogs really helped me in choosing a bike. I can't talk on YouTube I only have my Droid my email is pv2.mcdonald@gmail.com
@Snowhite808 I had a new, stiff pair of boots. I usually stand going over the tricky stuff but I didn't feel comfortable standing in these boots. Once they're broken in a bit I'll be able to stand more.
I don't know why they left those deer there. The weird thing is they were gutted. The entrails were gone but the rest of the animals were there. Maybe they were field dressing them and game warden saw them so they dumped them and took off. That's the only explanation I can think of.
@kryten i live in new zealand so prices are different here, a road legal one would cost me between $4000 - $7000($3296-$5770 US) and cost me $477-$591 depending on engine size($393-$487) US a year for registration cost and then insurance on top of that. paying rego and insurance on 2 bikes as well as a car is to much unfortunately. do you guys have licensing fees on vehicles over there?
@nanahc Wow! I tend to forget that other countries are much more strict on drivers. Here we have a yearly license fee. We have tags on our license plates that have to be updated. The amount is based on the value of the vehicle. Motorcycles from what I can tell are much cheaper. I also drive old cars because I hate most cars on the market these days so my car tags are cheap. Other than that the only fees come in the form of speeding tickets! :)
@kryten yeah we have a inspection every 6 months for all vehicles which is $40 and motorbikes are considered high risk so our licensing(plate tag) is higher than cars, higher again for over 600cc, ours is high to cover acc cost(we have public health with accident compensation to cover healthcare if we are in a accident) and beacuse motorbikes are considered dangerous they make us pay that extra , i think the license itself is only like $24.50 a year the rest is acc costs.
@navythomas8 These trails are weird. In the places that look slick you have plenty of traction and just breeze right by. Then in places that look easy you end up on your ass. A lot of it is red clay and it's very slick.
@kryten Thats the deal with Clay, slick as snot down a couple inches then it is Like HardPack snow. Its nasty ass Fun stuff!! You get that mastered and you can ride in snow and Ice!! Mixed of course. I'm sure you went down a couple times at first and got better at it!! It would be worse on a two stroke! Trust me on that! Thats how I learned.
@ToastToGo I snapped my original right mirror off the first time I took it out. I had these on my first dual sport bike so I snagged another set. They have a lifetime warranty on everything except the glass. The glass is only like $10 I think.
You should get a dual sport and quit riding your sport bikes down dirt roads. :)
nice vid. i love to trail rideing.every chance i get ipack up my 07 trx 450r and get out to this pit thats 30 mins away from home . youv got some nice trails there, lots of water runing through tem makes it more challenging, cool.. anyways do you think the gsxr 600 iis the most user friendly street compliant.supersport
@The555333222 I think they're all pretty similar, at least from the big 4 Japanese manufacturers. I chose the GSXR because it had a lower seat height and allowed me to get both feet flat on the ground. Its a great bike but I think you should get whatever fits you most comfortably. For a taller person I would go with a Yamaha or Honda. They seemed a bit taller than the Suzuki and Kawasaki when I was trying them out.
some really nice trails there, looked like a great day out :) it's great fun isn't it, much more tiring and exhausting in real life than it looks on video, that deer was kinda weird, oh and seal skinz socks are ideal for keeping your feet dry, i've tried various waterproof boots but once they go over the top you are stuffed, worth getting a pair and cheap also, nice video :)
@kryten Well, exactly what you do, I can't explain, there's just something about your videos that I like, maybe the way you are (I'm not gay) is what makes it awesome.
@Hrgeneralowns Some people say they like my stuff. Some people say they hate it. I get more nice comments than haters but I've always wondered what people like about my videos so I can keep doing that. I guess based on your comment I just need to keep being myself.
@brendanRawrs Get a cheap little one. I picked up my first dual sport for around $2500. I think I enjoy my little 250 dual sport more than I do my 600 sport bike.
I say that and then I get on my GSXR and fall in love all over again. I feel like a Mormon with two wives. I love them both but in different ways. One is an anorexic, loud bitch that likes to play dirty. The other is sexy with all the right curves that likes to go fast.
You need to get a real dirt bike it makes trail riding a lot more fun :)
