if we're comparing year for year; the two cars would then be incomparable, I never stated the CTS-V was a 2005 base? the old CTS-V that was is garbage thats why most people never heard of it or saw it for the matter how that makes me a hypocrite i missed, my point is/was experts and Cadillac themselves in development directly compare the latest CTS-V against the (last generation) M5; why your saying a 2012 car does not exist idk, the 5 series F10's are clearly on the road sold out nation wide

CTS-V's straight line ability does not help its lumbering ass come out of a corner; an ///M or GTR will and have walked it all through history, thats why they make those cute little commercials saying how they're finally soo close to M5's & AMGs but in the end they're still so far..

@bmwdat1 I have done my research the cts-v four door out performes the bmw m5, in all aspects. thats how i came to like the car.. im not sure about the coupe vs the m3 but i did see top gear do a thing on the m3 cts-v coupe and the s5 , and from what i remember they gave high praise to the cts-v coupe and sd it was more bang for your buck, but they did not do actual rode tests comparing the three cars. I suggest you do some research and get some facts before you critacize

you are comparing a 2005 base car to a 2010? i do not find the logic behind comparing a 69' charger and a 07', far from the same generation my friend, ~ your CTS-V was produced in the current generation; hence the 2005 M5 (which it is being compared to) most obviously is not the same / current, the new F10 M5 will be out in the fall for the CURRENT generation match which tests the Nurbürgring about 5 seconds faster than the rocket ship of a CTS's 7:59

@siegmergius Naw...It's more like I dont want to admit to a 370Z Driver that my over powered, expensive $60,000 414HP V-8 race-tuned car can't even outlap a $40,000 350HP V-6 car. :] I've also had the privilege of sitting in an M3 - great car, but the interior ain't THAT great compared to a 370Z. You do know that the price is what it is because of the BMW badge, right?
