  • I've been looking for a way to convert some of my dvds down to Avi files so I could move them to my Sansa as something to watch during class hours when I'm not really doing anything or waiting for others to catch up with me. I have so many dvds I wanna put on it but the memory only allows for a few at a time.

  • Excellent.Thank You

  • very good ;)

  • by the by, its seems to run alot faster if you create an .iso of the disc, especially if you have an entire seeason on dvd. spend about 10-15 min putting all 4 discs or whatever in an .iso folder, then run Fairuse Wizard from those .iso's and it'll go way faster...

i'll post a video soon on what i'm talking about to those who dont know about .iso files :)

  • PRO: Very easy to use

CON: Takes more time than some others.

  • i posted a comment earlier but its not here... How do you take out the subtitles in the episodes?

  • Click on the Options button, then look at the drop down under "Subtitles track." You'll want to remove the language listed. Actually, you choose the " - " at the very top. For some reason installs in the newest version default to adding subtitles.

  • thanks alot :)

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! Never heard of this program until now. Only problem i hate is.. The 2+ hour wait.. I guess its good to leave it going if you go out or go to sleep.

  • good but its taking more time but great job and goog video and soung quality thank u dude

  • fairUse crashes a lot - a lot of time is wasted...

  • i see a lot of comments saying they only have audio. not true, download VLC player or the K-Lite Codec pack and install, this will allow you to see the video as well as hear the audio.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm so sick of this thingggggggg

I can't get this thing to do what I need

I followed the directions on the video, the actual download didn't have some of the stuff he was talking about, but I went all the way to saving and found the video clip where I saved it.

    aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

it copied it as audio (actually pretty good)

    BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    PICTUREEEEEEEEEEE

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    I GIVE UP :-(

  • Your video player only plays the audio becasue you need something called "ffdshow" ,jut google it and download it, you must have it to view anything converted with fairuse wizard

  • i'm in the same position as BlueLzzzs, is it possible to use this program if the file is alreay on my HD?

and if not... can you recomend a similar prog that would work??

    Thanks!

  • Download the Divx codec trial and see if it works. You can also try the K-Lite codec, which is free. Hope it helps

  • well, what if you have the DVD on your hard drive, how do you convert it then?

  • yeh same with mine, it sucks :(

  • He says it will take a few hours.... but if you have bought your computer with in the past 5 years, it's more like 30 minutes. From start to finish, 45mins.

  • he means if you got a film, and you are just finishing, that's how long it would take because of the audio and video formating and stuff.

  • it doesnt work with copy protected dvds though does it, which is basically all my dvds

  • Yes, it does. I convert lots of my TV shows on DVD to AVI using this tool and they are all copy protected. You can also see in the video here he converts a Simpson's episodes from the DVD sets.

  • Dude you facken rock. You Saved my life. This is the best way to compress a DVD into AVI. The movie looks so clear and with the best sound. I was trying so many different ways and it would not work as good as your way. You are a budget nerd and rock on dude.
