  • In 1989 just prior to the 318th disbanding, Tactical Air Command put out an order stating that all TAC aircraft which had tail flashes such as the compass rose the 318th had would be removed. For that brief period, the 318th's tail code was "TC" which stood for Tacoma, the closest city to McChord AFB, now McChord Field.

  • @eodfan and albaviator, the 318FIS was stationed and headquartered at McChord AFB in Washington State. The squadron was disbanded in mid 1989 due budgeting. All of their F-15's went to the Oregon Air National Guard in Portland, and were eventually replaced by F-16's. The 57FIS is stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska.

  • Correct the 318th had the star burst tail the IS is from Iceland. i dont think they were there for very long, some rare footage of the IS. Today units take turns at iceland. The tail markings for Alaska are AK. the eagles from the 318th( i was stationed there 4 yrs) would never have went to the bering straits. with out being refuled a few times. the bears were looking for holes in our radar coverage. The days of the cold war. Each unit would pass the bear to the next from norad control.

  • the 318 fis dragons my moms old unit and my home town go tacoma

  • Dude I feel like I'm in a Russian dance club. Not the song for watching air-air combat.

  • bet em russians were like HOLY SH@#!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds like he "sing" the word: - "Idiota". Lol

  • excuse me but what the fuck is this music?

  • Also at the end, the IS tail codes are from Iceland. (Reykjavík)

  • 318th FIS correct?

  • that's not an eagle. it's a C model. like the vid but at least be honest. there's no wso (wizzo).

  • Albaviator; The aircraft and Tail identification is from the 318th FIS that was assigned to McChord AFB, Washington in the 1980's. As the F-15 climbs out, the ramp at McChord is clearly visible. It is not Elmendorf.

  • I grew up in Anchorage and remember this happening quite a bit but nothing ever came of it. Just checking each other out. It even happened during a school field trip to Elmandorf.

  • They forgot to bring porno mags and a beer! I remember eading about how they would do that to piss off the russians.

  • EODFAN u r a tool.

Those F-15A's were from the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron stationed at McChord AFB in Washington State.

  • fantastic music....

  • yah its just fucking awesome music...

  • TBH if america is pissed of with russia just nuke all there cities and leave europe out of it

  • A bunch of TU-95 penetrated Canadian air space the day that Oboma visited actually kinda weird coincidence.. these bastards still do this even though the cold war is over and been over for what 20 years? lol.....

  • @Pocketzszs like we dont do the same thing to them?

  • @NikitasGuitars actually we dont they just keep doing it every once in a while, made sense during the cold war in a tactical point of view but now?

  • @Pocketzszs just because you dont hear about it doesnt mean it doesnt happen... We're two major superpowers, of course we probe eachother's defenses.

  • Dont like the Track at all it a remix of Dhalsim from Streetfighter doesnt go with clip at all!!!!

  • so they intercept the bear and what??

  • then everybody went home! :)

  • That is basically how it went, and how it still goes today. LOL

Good old days of TAC, PACAF, and pure intercept squadrons.

  • flip them the bird and have a few laughs

  • @ivanlunaelizarraras They crashed because they were too low to the ground, and the idiot who told them to intercept a bear war court marshaled.

  • @ivanlunaelizarraras they say hi and ask if the bear feels like being destroyed today.

  • My grandfather used to do the same thing during the early 1960s in F-102s and F-106s

He thought it was pretty neat that they're still doing the exact same thing today

  • very good!!

  • This is a heart-warming video, because it was filmed at McChord Air Force base in Lakewood, WA, back in the 80's when I was still a kid. Brings me back memories when I was still a military dependant living on base. Those are F-15C's of the former 318th FIS, which is now stationed at Portland International Airport, OR.

  • And in service with the 142d Fighter Wing.

  • The USAF should have shot down every single one of those TU-95. Send the commies a message, we wont shoot your planes down if you dont fly over or near our land. Fuck communits

  • svtfast, too bad most likely they r carrying nukes. otherwise i agree with ur statement

  • who cares shoot them down no more nuke probs

  • the nuke would detonate also russia has enough nukes to destroy earth like 800 times

  • no the nuke would not Detonate. it would fall into the ocean end of story. Nukes aren't your normal bomb also when you shoot at a bomber or whatever 99% the time there bombs there carrying don't go off

  • who in the hell told you that russia has the power to destroy the world 800 times? back in the cold war the russians made like 70,000 warheads and the us made some 50.000 warheads and alot 1000s of them 5-25 MT and we were never able destroy the earth 10times let alone 800 that crap was made up the us has only 4000-4500 warheads ans russia has 5000 or so most warhead are 300kt or less russia and the us can get the target they with want with out carpet bombing with super-nukes,

  • Video good but sorry, the music barks like a dog:-)

  • this video features some nice views of the TU-95

  • Pilot suits are designed to hold pee, but of course i guess its not too comfotable to sit on pee :)

Other thing is in combat pilots can eat such a pill that blocks the peeing for a copule of hours.

  • Thats why I think it's cool some of the larger U.S. Bombers like the B-2 have toilets.

  • So do I, if i had to fly some of the missions that the B-2/B-52 fly i know that i would want a toilet. I still think its nuts with mid-air refueling that some fighter pilots spend as much time in that little cockpit as they do!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • 1:39 what if the pilot needs to take a piss??? that would be fucked up.

  • its either hold it or pee in your flight suit i guess...although i have asked myself the same question everyday i come across the thought.

  • i was just kidding. i think wenn ur are flying toys like that u can hold it forever. i think your too busy flying that u dont even think about a toilet hehe.

  • Or maybe toilet first then get in your plane. Little food before flight.

  • Ive heard putting on Depends (Diaper) or peeing in a bottle-yuk!

  • looks like a training video at the beginning

  • why they didnt shoot it down?

  • cause they were just escorting them out of the area

  • hmm sounds like borat music

  • Awesome video. I like both the Tu-95 and the F-15C.

  • Pretty sure the 318th FS flew from Washington (state), not Alaska. Nicest tail flashes ever painted on an F-15, anyway.

The actual intercept footage shows 57th FS from Keflavik (Iceland). When the USAF withdrew the squadron - just as the Russians reactivated their patrols - Iceland was very unhappy, having no airforce of her own...

  • carpcrew2006 Why do you say that? If it comes to this Russia still has 1000s of nukes, more than any other country in the world but US, how many UK has? If they wanted too they could destroy the entire world 50 times over but they dont want that. US militarily is a biggest challenge but now we are in the biggest financial hole ever, stuck in Iraq and Afghanistan so we cant really do a s##t now. So why would Russia have their hands full? Have you ever been in a military?

  • cool i have a model with the same tail fin paint job.....bering strait...elmendorf?

  • Correct!! Elmendorf AFB Alaska

  • I've been there for the Arctic Thunder Air Ahow. and I saw an F-22A do a cobra. Freaking awesome!

  • @albaviator Tail Flash and shoulder patch is from the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at McChord AFB, WA. Maybe flying from a detachment at King Salmon or Galena Alaska...

  • @albaviator Tail Flash and shoulder patch is from the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at McChord AFB, WA. Maybe flying from a detachment at King Salmon or Galena Alaska... And they aren't F-15C's, they're F-15A models (1975 tail numbers, no C's until '78).

  • Actually, it's McChord AFB. Elmo's birds had an AK tail code, not a tail flash.

  • @albaviator Are you sure these are Elmendorf birds? The emblems on the vertical stabs look like they are from the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, which I believe was stationed at McChord AFB WA. Just wondering.

  • @MickGalaxy yes it is the 318 it was my moms unit during the 80s

  • old video? .... 80s ?

  • Yeah it`s old...82-83

  • ha funny, the F-15s replacement F-22s did this exact same thing just this year

  • @albaviator I thought the eagles were relativly new like 89? If we were like the soviets we would have shot them down and accused them of criminal acts and display the plane to the world like they did to francis gary powers. We are not like them

  • @SwoopDog001 there still intercepting tho there are reports from this year

  • i seriously dont understand russia

if they start a problem with england /america they got the worldon thier hands so if i were them id give up
