This song sums up the whole movie entirely. These people living with disease, never knowing what will happen to them. So they live their life the way they want to. Absolutely brilliant and the saddest thing ever. That would be the hardest fight to ever battle.

I love this song. I have never seen Rent, so I don't really know the context. However, I beat cancer and just recently had a staph infection and it looked like I could possibly lose my right arm at the bicep. I still have both my arms, the infection was finally beat with a powerful cocktail of IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics. You wonder if people think if God is punishing you, you want it all to end and you want to feel good again. This song conveys those emotions.

I knew someone exactly like Angel. We, too, lost our Angel to HIV. RENT is both painful and joyous to watch. It reminds me of the time we had with our Angel... just as positive and just as life affirming. When I hear this song, my heart breaks as I know our Angel went through this as well... and he never had anything but positive things to say on the outside.
