The photos and the music are my entire past. I went every where the Jaggerz went in my youth and there music was always so special. Thanks for the great posting. It sure brought back great memories.
first off, thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment. the gamble LP was out on CD for a while, you might want to check for it with some east coast dealers.
A great medley! Had no idea these guys still could sound this good (even though this is 10 years old by now.) Jimmie Ross still sounds as good here as he did on the first Jaggerz album (even stepping to the daunting task of handling Billy Maybray's vocal slot on "Stand In...") Thanks for posting this - I'd never heard "Please Baby Please" before and have since sought out the original, which I love! So thanks for turning me on to that via this great version!
Hey skeetman! I am sorry about your luck! My father was back up for Donnie back in those days. Billy Maybray?? I am sure he was quite the player in his day. So I hope he didnt sweep up your date. He is sadly missed. He passed away 4 years ago, but his thoughts are always with us!
hope you enjoyed this. thanks for watching! your dad was a huge part of these guys' success, and you should be proud of the legacy he left us with. he is sadly missed by all of us who have followed and enjoyed the jaggerz all these years. all the best to you. p.s. i still think it must have been the sound man that stole skeetman's date.
I saw these guys at Conneaut Lake Park in 69-71 era. If I remember right they had just changed lead singers ? Great show except that the girl I took there ran off with someone connected with the band. lol
tough break dude. just goes to show, you can't judge a book by it's cover. i thought all these guys were fine upstanding pgh. fellows. sure it wasn't the sound man?
great jaggerz tune and video! pittsburgh reminds me of chicago in ways, especially the pic of the steel mill. my dad retired from wisconsin steel works on the far south side. question-are all the original jaggerz members still performing? it's great to see that many classic entertainers are still out hittin' it especially since the music buisness is notorious for breaking an artist's spirit. thanks also for the shout-out in your info notes!
you're welcome, and thanks for watching. as far as the original guys, there's jimmie ross, benny faiello, and jim 'pugs' pugliano. sounds brooklyn doesn't it? anyhow dom ierace left in 1975 and became part of wild cherry (funky music). he's still around and recorded solo, he's better known as donnie iris. i'm sure he's joined in on occasion. there's a pic of him and jimmie in the vid. anyhow i grew up in the sticks so. of pgh, but about two miles from uss clairton coke works. oh the aroma. sweet
Two great tunes! I remember hearing "Gotta Find My Way Back Home" on KQV in 1968,and then "(That's Why)Baby I Love You" the following year. Love both songs. If I recall correctly,The Jaggerz appeared several times on Come Alive,so we folks in the Pittsburgh area knew them before that had their big hit "The Rapper" in 1970. I remember The Jaggerz doing that tune on AB. Great stuff, pghpookie!
thanks. i too remember these guys from the kqv days, then when i went to college in'69-70,they hit with the 'rapper' and performed in the 'sunken gardens' in san antonio. during a break i yelled pittsburgh, everyone of them turned and gave me the fists up. great guys, all of them. jimmie's band is still hot. i suppose all the years playing geneva on the lake turned them onto these two cleveland songs, both from '66-'67. glad you like this.
What a beautiful song. Such memories of times gone by.
Thanks for sharing with us. Thumbs up. Rex
