it's still played. There's a workaround for the masterserver problem somewhere. Just search it somewhere. Then you'll find a listing which shows many servers still being played. You just gotta enter the IP manually then.

1:download hamachi
2:instal it and click "join an existing network"
3:join ONE of those servers:
host:fl4net pass:fl4net
h:fl4net2 p:fl4net
h:fl4net3 p:fl4net
4:FL host must be online so that the game will work
5:enter the game and go to multiplayer,u should see the game now
