I got their double CD 'Music' album, the first CD had recorded songs and the second was their farewell concert. Well worth getting your hands on it if you can. Shame I heard about the Beta Band too late or I would have gone to see that concert, by the sounds of it it was a flippin' great gig.

another good tune. the thing i like about beta band is they did whatever they wanted to. they had connection to record labels but they hated that. now u can upload tunes, videos, make yr own videos without wanting to win a brit award & u can do it pretty much for free. that's what was missing in the 90's when i first started trying to do music. a showcase in some shithole pub in camden was the extent of my 'career' in music.x

I fuckin love these guys. Every Indie band should be like these. Make the best album of the 90's (3EP's). Rip it fuck in the press then fall out with each other and quit just as you're about to become a commercially success ( Heroes to Zero's).

This is my favourite track of all time by any band. This is just awesome. Epitomises the Betas perfectly. Much missed band, by me anyway. Love the Aliens, KBT, Black Affair, General and Duchess Collins, but none can compare to The Beta Band.Phenomenal, absolute class.

Fuckin' right; "she said to me, 'Keep your head up', never show-up, keep it all in , never dream alone." Never knew they were of Scotland. First heard em' in the movie 'high fidelity' and on thier u.s. tour shortly then after. i think this band influenced alot and left an imprint on poular music.

For me, the greatest song ever recorded. Just mind blowing. The Beta's are sadly missed, though The Aliens( Gordon 'Lone Pigeon' Anderson, Robin Jones, and John McClean), King Biscuit Time/Black Affair ( Steve Mason), and The General and the Dutchess Collins ( Rich Greentree) keep the fires burning brightly. These guys can do no wrong in my eyes, utter genius' - musicians to trust. Long live the Beta Band!!

They've formed the group 'The aliens' search Robot Man by the Aliens, they released their album there last year. The original Beta Band front man who wrote 'Dry the Rain' is back with them. Chris Mason the singer is now 'King Buiscuit Time'.

Stephen Mason has been releasing solo material under the "King Biscuit Time" name since around 2000, maybe even before. He released a full-length album in 2006 but I haven't heard it, I only know his "No Style" EP, from 2000. I like that EP a lot, I think it's just as good as the Beta Band's 3 first EPs.

Mr Mason also released another EP 'King Biscuit Time "Sings" Nelly Foggits Blues in Me and the Pharaohs'.If you can find it, i highly recommend getting it. Black Gold is a fantastic piece of work, well worth owning. Two singles were spawned from this album 'C i am 15' and 'Kwang Chow'. He is now recording under the name Black Affair, with an album out now called Pleasure Pressure Point.
