Verizon FIOS 50mbit Download 6000k a sec Giganews Newsgroups

Only 6MB a sec? I realize this vid is 3 years old almost, but my home connection goes faster. The advertised speed is 50Mbps, and I can download at around 11MB a sec on usenet.

i have 20 Mb so that is 2MB and i pay 20 euro for it in holland:P

and 120 Mb in holland you pay around the 45 euro in the month:P

so it is not that expancisve:P

Move out of a densily populated area in japan and see how much you pay then, assuming that you can even get 100mb outside of main cities.

I am thinking of going with Fios in my new home, since it's only a choice between time warner and verizon fios.

But I hear both of these companies stopped running newsgroups? Can someone clear this up for me and let me know what I can do to keep download access?
