would be smarter to make the repeaters like this:

0 = 0 = 0

= = = = =

= is redstone dust

0 is repeater

This makes them go up at the same time

all i can think of is if you didn't use repeaters between the redstone on that side it can prevent that side from working, just do a mirror image of the working side:)
