  • nice videos thank you and those who think arab hates women oh please how can you say somethimes about those you have never spoken to and u have never been in their countries, so go there first and check! thx again

  • What I think is that we cannot impose our own values on someone else's society; this may not be the way that I want things for myself or my daughter, but it is the Saudi society that must determine it's own code of behavior. Change must come from within. Forced, external change (or judgment) will not be well received and it could actually cause a backlash of repression.

  • @USteacher73 wow what a speech . . . dear its not you to decide with what there rights are .. u people living the materialistic life far away from religion cant decide what people want coz u cant imagine how happy they are for what they got dear am not a saudi not even arab but i being living in jeddah for soo long and now in uk nd trust me woman in uk has no respect as compared to what they have in ksa .

  • @kashmiriway - I am not sure what you were responding to. My comments are not in disagreement with what you said. In fact, I do not agree with those that say that Saudis hate women. However, I also do not think that you should be generalizing us as purely materialistic and far from religion; despite the possessions Westerners have, or what their religious beliefs may be, we have a lot good people who respect women here, just as KSA has people who do not.

  • @USteacher73 who the hell said that i never heard a single British or else saying that Saudi hate women dear what ever religion what ever color man loves women and thats a fact . i know there are lots good people in western and i do respect their believes but be honest do u really think people are not materialistic on this side of world yes they are . do u know what is the rape rate in usa check it and then compare it with ksa

  • @kashmiriway you apologists for backward countries - you always praise them, but still choose to live here right? you might not like it if you had to live there. backward primitive superstition. rubbish.

  • @blueray1969 and @kashmiriway

I'm approving your comment to allow for dialogue, ut I do not support anger or insults. I would like to keep the conversation civil and respectful. Thank you.

  • @USteacher73 oh, thanks.

  • I'm from Riyadh, I'm studying in there. my friends those are girls they hate this country because women are not permitted to Drive in street. Do you think allowing this thing can hold up the past culture of KSA or not .

In Quran there is nothing said that women can't drive in the street. if they can walk in the street than they can't drive.

  • its a cultural difference between the west and the middle east. Saudi arabia is a more disciplined country and they tend to perceive that there is a wide gap between men and women. Its not a bad thing it just means that we are equal but different. Most muslims get offended to see nudity, sexual permiscuousness between the sexes. If your daughter went to the middle east would you want her in a pool filled with men?

  • I appreciate that men and women can be equal but different. However, it would be acceptable to me-- as an American woman-- that my daughter would swim with men. Almost all pools in the US are mixed. In KSA, it did not at all seem equal that the men were able to swim in the pool or exercise in the gym- but I was not permitted, simply b/c I am a woman. Neither of those activities involves nudity or promiscuity-- they are healthy and joyful activities.

  • This is understood. You are not a muslim and I dont expect you to think like one however men are not allowed to mix in an all woman pool either. Neither are they allowed to exercise in an all women gym. You only showed the side where women cannot go. I know for a fact in america that men and women restrooms are seperate, it is very similar in Islamic culture when it comes to situations that can reveal nudity or private parts. My mom is a christian and even she agrees with this

  • I actually showed many different aspects of Saudi culture--which included mixing and respect for the value Saudi's place on privacy and gender separation. But, in the cases you cite, there was no designated area for women. Please understand that this was not a criticism of your culture, but rather a commentary on the differences. The beginning of the video attempts to acknowledge western stereotypes, but the remainder of the video aims to break down that stereotype.

  • I understand where you're coming from. I think its an excellent video. im not an arab but it is mixed with islamic culture so I can relate best to this.

  • Thank you for your comments. I appreciate your feedback.

  • I was glad to see your video, what I knew is that u will have this beautiful picture in your mind because your host was Aramco and institutions that want to change the bad image. You are right to think about how far this good quality life extends. The answer is that most Saudi women still can't decide for themselves. What u experienced was not the whole picture.

  • Thank you for your feedback. I have sent you a message and hope that you will share more with me.

  • Its great to hear people not listening to the media and actually experiencing the Saudi culture first hand. Thank you for this video! Hopefully others will see and realize that Saudi Arabia isn't what the western media depicts it to be!!

  • Saudie Arabia is a society that hates women...when you supress sexuality by force, bad things happen...violence, gang rapes, etc

  • While I'm sure that there are some that do, in general, Saudis do not hate women. In fact, it is the idea that women are so valued and need protection that determines the cultural rules that you interpret to be oppressive. Certainly, in the Western world, it is oppressive; but it is not possible to just the Islamic world without diving deeper into understanding the motivation behind their rules.

  • ...I not consider the USA to be a sexually repressive society, though sexual violence is rampant in our own culture. Your opinions are valuable and I completely understand where you are coming from; though if you are interested in studying and commenting on other cultures, you need to explore this further before coming to such definitive conclusions and generalizations.
