wrong the revenge of the mermiad is turning the fisherman who cuaght her into a fish and them watching as he fell prey to someone elses hook and get killed by the same thing that made her a prisoner of the fisherman by mermaid law. you should really look up the tale of the mermaid in japanese and chinese lore.
