Most kevlar does not stop ANY KNIFE. Bullets are easier cause blunt and soft.

Hello i am German and bought me a "Splitterschutzweste" ebay this and you´ll find a ebayer with the shop Bestprotection a vest only kosts ca 30 euro you can pull the kevlar out of it an it protects you off pistol and pumpgun (bird) ammo its a very nice vest if you take a look you´ll see it

@Tricking4Fun ok thx for the information. My stab proof kevlar vest buyed on ebay.co.uk (british seller) got a german kevlar inside from 1994, the germans got very nice materal :)

Normally Kevlar is used for anti-bullet vests. When treated with specific chemicals it can be used as an anti stab vest. Otherwise standart bulletproof kevlar will not withstand a knife stab/slash

Wrong. Soft Kevlar (Generally used by police) is built to withstand knife stabs/slashes, small-caliber handguns, shotguns at a range and small shrapnel from hand grenades. If it stops a high-velocity bullet, the bullet can still cause life-threatening blunt trauma injuries depending on where the bullet hits.

I though that a tiny steel mail was implemented between the kevlar layers in the anti stabs kevlar vest. Isnt the kevlar himself weak again slashing damage ? ( not piercing of course)

Its weak against slashing and peircing..Bullets explode into tiny peices upon impact due to the high speed and not sharp tip...

Kevlar is a weave of fibers that is extremely impact and pierce resistant. Meaning that a few layers (like this) can easily stop a knife, and with enough layers it can stop bullets

Kevlar is a weave of Kevlar, period, which in itself is poor against sharp objects. Some bulletproof vests have Kevlar AND a stab-proof material embedded into it.

hey i just brought a Kevlar vest, it only has 6 layers of Kevlar. i dont know much about this kind of stuff and was wondering if u have any tips or pointer?

like what can this vest with stand?? with only 6 layer? i stab it as hard as i can and i can see the tip of the blade through the other side, not a good thing?

Try holding the kevlar against different surfaces.. would be interesting to note the difference in the effect of the stab.

i have tested it on the bed, and on big cushion, the result is better then this video, only 2-3 layers damaged, its the most severe test this video !
