The current doctrine of the Iranian military is of a retaliatory nature/static defense - they care more about assymetrical warfare than actually repelling the enemy and preventing the enemy from bombing their industries, facilities, army/airforce bases, nuclear plants etc
They may stand a good chance against an enemy of the same equivalence (that possess same standards), as was the case in the Iran-Iraq war - entrenched, no mobility/manouverability, static battles at the front.
Iranian leadership need to pay attention to two things
#1 the airforce is in desperate need of replacements,as a matter of fact, the current one is so outdated that they would be better of scrapping the current inventory & buy a brand new airforce!
#2 the air defenses must be upgraded considerably, they need to buy all the latest SAM from Russia/China and with it build an extensive grid so that it covers as much of it's airspace as possibel - leaving no "corridors" for the US to fly thru.
Army, airforce, navy and all the various elements of the Iranian military combined WILL lose in an all-out war against USA. Iran simply don't have the right equipment, they got serious flaws in terms of readiness, desperate need to improve their battlefield tactics, their armored divisions lack coordination, they have too few tanks and only about 100 can be considered "modern" by western standards. Their biggest mistake is - they have chosen to improve in the wrong branches of the military.
The Iranian military is relatively large compared to countries in the region, but it is has too many flaws (no quality). Also their priorities are wrong, and their build-up is slow because their expenditure/budget is too small, even a small country like Oman spend more Dollar on military hardware. They have no emphasis on modernizing their airforce and their air defenses are obsolete, these two branches are extremly weak. They don't have a "blue water" navy, won't ever attain that level.

The current doctrine of the Iranian military is of a retaliatory nature/static defense - they care more about assymetrical warfare than actually repelling the enemy and preventing the enemy from bombing their industries, facilities, army/airforce bases, nuclear plants etc
They may stand a good chance against an enemy of the same equivalence (that possess same standards), as was the case in the Iran-Iraq war - entrenched, no mobility/manouverability, static battles at the front.

Iranian leadership need to pay attention to two things
#1 the airforce is in desperate need of replacements,as a matter of fact, the current one is so outdated that they would be better of scrapping the current inventory & buy a brand new airforce!
#2 the air defenses must be upgraded considerably, they need to buy all the latest SAM from Russia/China and with it build an extensive grid so that it covers as much of it's airspace as possibel - leaving no "corridors" for the US to fly thru.

Army, airforce, navy and all the various elements of the Iranian military combined WILL lose in an all-out war against USA. Iran simply don't have the right equipment, they got serious flaws in terms of readiness, desperate need to improve their battlefield tactics, their armored divisions lack coordination, they have too few tanks and only about 100 can be considered "modern" by western standards. Their biggest mistake is - they have chosen to improve in the wrong branches of the military.

The Iranian military is relatively large compared to countries in the region, but it is has too many flaws (no quality). Also their priorities are wrong, and their build-up is slow because their expenditure/budget is too small, even a small country like Oman spend more Dollar on military hardware. They have no emphasis on modernizing their airforce and their air defenses are obsolete, these two branches are extremly weak. They don't have a "blue water" navy, won't ever attain that level.

lol. usa took iraq down in one month. iran and iraq was a stalemate war at 10 years. iran couldnt beat iraq and had to call it a tie. hezbollah had its communities demolished and that was with minimal force trying to avoid civilians which is something hezbollah doesnt do. obviously u dont understand the tactics. we use proxy armies, let muslims kill muslims. thats whats happening with the taliban, iraq, palestine, ect. ect.

were there to train the iraqi army, and implement some form of islamic democracy. most troops have left already and some have been deployed to afghanistan to help the afghan army. in iraq once we leave im pretty sure there'll be a civil war. we dont want to find bin laden, as long as he's alive we have a reason to be there and build army bases. even if u turned him in dead we would deny it and create a duplicate bin laden to keep the plan going.
