  • son mejores que los beatles

  • One little overlooked aspect is how incredible the guitar sounds on this song. That Stratocaster just spits and snarls like a cobra made out of pure electricity. I can practically imagine sparks coming out of the speakers.

  • Why does everyone bring up Justin Bieber? Is that all you people know about? haha Lets get real here that kid is pretty much 2 years ago. Learn a new joke!

  • Only 94,852 views? Youtube people are sooo incult.

  • This song makes me want to hit something!

  • @sherhrtatk Maybe you don't like the melody or lyrics, but at least understand this is a crucial step in the evolutionary process of the developing Pink Floyd sound. It has to be interesting at the very least in that respect.

  • @sherhrtatk I feel sorry for you because you cant enjoy this awesome piece of art.

  • EPIC. Pink Floyd is truely one of the most innovative and best bands in music history

  • This is the first grunge song in the history of rock.

  • @MikeBenedict1986 Ringo said that "Yer Blues" (from the Beatles' White Album) is the first grunge rock song.

  • I wonder if this song was influenced by them playing a couple of gigs with Blue Cheer back in '68 or '69, this being one of their only "heavy metal"-type songs?

  • i was standing by the nile when i saw the ladie smile

  • Two words: HEAVY METAL!

  • why is everyone fixated on hating Justin Bieber? He's a kid pop star, plenty of em exist, stop bringing him up in every single fucking video I watch

  • @wormsrock YOU BROUGHT HIM UP THOUGH

  • nick mason is killin it here, sounding like moon-baker-esque

  • Fucking good song man

  • Its so sad no one will ever hear anything like Pink Floyd again...

  • this must have been the heaviest song of the 60's lol

  • @KaBaSpLoOSh I wouldn't say so. Helter Skelter is far more heavier than this one.

  • @FeedTheTrollPlz Dude come on, this SLAYS Helter Skelter.

  • @KaBaSpLoOSh I wouldn't say that. Led Zeppelin 1 & 2 are pretty heavy. Black Sabbath's first album was too. It was released in February of '70, so I guess it sort of counts as a '60's album

  • ladies and gentlemen, the birth of modern day heavy metal (this and "Ticket To Ride" by The Beatles)

  • ''The heavy side of the Floyd''

  • ...super.....

  • I was standing by the Nile

    Thought Syd Barrett woulda smiled

    At rhyming schemes so purile

    Trying to write something worthwhile

In my kitchen there is tile

It's not new but it's in style

    You have no word my-oh-my-o.............

  • @dxguy suck R. Waters' d1ck, and do it for long, long time, you stupid brat

  • Hello there music appreciator.

  • The heaviest song they ever did! Brilliant!

  • This song kicks ass. The drums are beast!

  • I fucking love David's voice in this, so fucking heavy.

  • 2:37...total tripout. 5*****

  • at 2:27, awesome pic

  • Great Pixies cover!

  • Floyd goes Punk. Yeeaaaahhh!!!!!!!!

  • this is my fav track from relics album remember buying it off a schoolfriend in the school library in 1975 good days

  • Sounds a bit like early deep purple to me

  • Nile song whith lyrics

  • this is the 6th track on my movie playlist lol you'll hear it in hollywood someday

  • Sounds kinda like Troggs "Wild Thing"!

  • I've never heard Nick play so loud.

  • This kind of reminds me of KISS.

  • @e11aguru wow not at all... Kiss is the definition of a band with very little tallent that is popular because of image. how you relate this song to kiss is beyond me.

  • @cryingskies77 The loud guitars, screaming "cock rock" vocals, etc. don't sound proto-KISS to you at all? Be honest. I think that your love of Pink Floyd and extreme hatred of KISS is hurting your objectivity on the matter.

Just because Pink Floyd are much more talented than KISS (and I agree that they are) doesn't mean that they can never sound like KISS.

  • @e11aguru when you put it like that i still diagree with the previous statement but i wont get into an arguement about it because, yes it has a lot to do with my LOVE for the pink floyd and my hatred for a shitty talentless band that relies almost entirely on image.

  • @cryingskies77 Wow I guess ur not as stupid as I thought!!!

  • @MrGeltabs interesting isnt it...

  • @cryingskies77 dude you fail to realize that KISS centralizes on providing entertainment for their fans not trying to provide a profound philosophical or profound message. Most of their songs are about fucking women and excessive partying. So stop being such a pompous ass in assuming that everyone needs to create masterpieces to be enjoyable. Are you really going to pick a fight with another rock fan while Justin Bieber still roams the earth? didnt think so.

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 are you trying to say the floyd didnt provide entertainment for their fans? because they sure as hell did, and at the same time put a bit more thought into their music than just partying and fucking women, anyone who dosnt realize that is an idiot. Im not going to argue with idiots, Pink Floyd is far supirior to "Kiss", im not being "pompous" i just appreciate good music, and for that i appologize, you probably wouldnt understand.

  • Comment removed

  • @cryingskies77 you really seemed to miss the point I was making. People enjoy bands for different reasons and KISS is a great band but has a different kind of greatness than Floyd. You should listen to music because you enjoy it, not because some assclown (you) wants to show everyone how he can judge artists based on his own personal preferences and (anal)ysis. Not everyone has to think like you, you POMPOUS LITTLE PRICK. Also, kind of you to call me an idiot when you can't even spell "supirior"

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 I listen to music only because i enjoy it. If that was the case with everyone KISS would not be popular, they are famous because of their "image", not their music. But i guess a "pompous little prick" like myself wouldnt be able to understand that...

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 dude, that's just the most awesome youtube rock discussion ending i've ever seen! xD

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 first of all KISS can suck my dick. Second PINK FLOYD got way more talent in one finger than gene simmons could ever wish his untalented pathetic excuse of a band could EVER have. Anyone can make a song about snorting shit and banging women--KISS just stuck with that because they have never been super creative like David Bowie or Pink Floyd. And didn't they go disco and sell out their fans for something lame and then go without the make-up that hid their fugly faces?

  • @jackisajackass0 pfff way to ignore what i was trying to say completely and act like a pompous ass about a post that was made a third of a year ago. NOBODY IS ARGUING KISS IS BETTER YOU LOON!

obviously you are just a justin bieber fan out to troll me.

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 Wow it just sounds like you're the pompous ass. I mean seriously who says loon nowadays?! And to be honest Who cares, I listen to Bieber and I'm ok with it because Bieber runs laps around kiss. And before Bieber it was the Jobros that every "rocker" bitched about--Bieber's 15 minutes of fame is starting to fade--it will be another David Cassidy that outs Bieber. So all I can really say is whatever you're just as big of a pompous ass and loon and a hypocrite to boot.

  • @jackisajackass0 You listen to Bieber b/c you have an 15-yr-old girl inside you, or your inside a 15-yr-old girl. That pretty much sums it up now doesnt it?

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 Pffft so let me get this straight--i'm a pedophile for listening to justin bieber. am i getting this right mr. pompous ass, am i? well it seems to me that you have the fixation with 15 year old girls not me. and before you take another sip from your bottle of haterade why don't you unstuff your mouth with the shit you call your opinions and flush them down the toilet along with your chat logs with 15 year olds and go disco to some kiss in your mom's basement you call home.

  • @e11aguru Sounds nothing like Kiss, they wish they wrote a tune this cool.

  • SING LOUDLY: I will follow in her shadow As I watch HER from my window One day I will catch Her eye!!!

  • In few words: MASTERPIECE! :D

All haters of Pink Floyd, can go to the shit, for don't appreciate the good music.

    PINK FLOYD, MASTERS FOR LIFE!♥

  • @PoisonGirlDValo don't worry there is no such thing as people who don't like pink floyd there is only people who have heard pink floyd and those who havint

  • Respond to this video... it would almost be safe to asume that this is one of the earlyiest metal songs

  • @PoisonGirlDValo LOL what? Pink Floyd haters? Does that even exist? I mean, how can anyone don't like Pink Floyd? ♥

  • very heavy and could be the grandfather of heavy metal as to the way david sang it

  • this is pure epicness this beats bieber any day

  • HOW THE CHRIST CAN TWO JACKASSES DISLIKE THIS!?!?!?!

  • waters got the best looking face allways

  • I think the grunge people listened a whole lot to this...

  • Idk why but this reminds me of Dropkick Murphy's Taking Back Boston (?) song. For someone who's only listend to Pink Floyd's DSOTM, The Wall, AHM, Animals, and Final Cut, Im impressed yet again

  • Does anybody have a live version?

  • @attime6 it doesnt exist

  • that is pure proto grunge for me :D

  • These is fuckin' metal!!!!!

  • btw i went to your youtube page and syd is your picture so i don't know what you are on about.

  • NERSERY RHIMES!! kgkgkgkggkg!! that's great. it's the type of people here!!

  • Spam

  • anyway, nile song kicks ass. a really nice blast of early floyd.

  • fave floyd tune!!! not terribly well known

  • btw nice pictue at 7:42. not really

  • david's best vocal work RIGHT HERE. free of charge. better than the other leading brand!! this is REALLY BAD MUSIC. oh yeah, love! i send this WITH LOVE!

  • its really an actually GOD AWFUL SONG though. it really stinks. please make it stop!!

  • Gotta love ´em.

  • nice picture at 1:00.

  • I can not decide if ths song or have a cigar is my fav floyd song

  • wondering...at 2:37 (obscured album cover)...is that autographs or just some scribblings?

  • David's best vocal work right there.

  • Comment removed

  • For this mp3 just go to dopemp3s doht cohm.

  • "she is calling from the deep, selling my soul to endless sleep" or as it may sound when you listen closely; "...selling my soul to LSD" you decide?

  • I wish Pink Floyd made an album like this song. Very unusual for them, and I LOVE it.

  • That would've been badass if Pink Floyd had played this song live in '69-'71 tours

  • the one and only forever

  • whatsup witht the siegheil at 1:00

  • Classic track. Thanks for the post.

  • 1969, Pink Floyd actually invented Grunge music with this song, 20 years before Nirvana.

  • probably the most "metal" song of pink floyd!

  • this my favorite pink floyd album and the only one i own on viynl

  • more.

    best album ever.

  • The Ear on the Meddle cover art....I had the vinyl copy in the 80's and never realized it was an ear until a fateful night back in 1983 while enjoying some LSD....The album sleeve opened up and I could see the outer "big picture" so to speak...Ahhh, good times indeed!

  • picture at around 0:41?

  • Yeah, heavy Floyd!

  • @herbleus same here,i love the floyd when they throw a heavy track in.........

  • happy birthday to the late great richard wright

  • This song kicks ass.

  • Listening to this song (The Nile Song), and Ibiza Bar even more so, makes you take into consideration Floyd's influence on Grunge and other later Rock styles. I Mean most people Cite Cinnamon Girl (written in 1969 as well) as the first grunge song, where as I would put these in a similar category of influence.

  • This is it!

  • Sounds kinda like The Troggs " Wild Thing"!

  • that's a great song... but people, pink floyd are not for "hard" music... songs like atom heart mother are their style, not this one... it still rocks though!!

  • This song is fucking HEAVY. Did Floyd ever do this song live, I but it might have shocked some people on how heavy this song was.

  • this song dosent get as much apritiation as it should

  • This is the Best Song in the World. - Floyd Rocks !!

  • @tunacho1 Wait....you go around asking little girls what they think of the dirty Jonas Brothers? Might be time for a new hobby.

  • I wonder if any of you realize how amazing this song really is when you listen to every single other thing that Pink Floyd ever did. It's almost like they were channeling some other mystery band. The guitar solo (actually a duo, overdubbed) on this track is really just bursting with intense emotion.

  • Heaviest song of Pink Floyd :)

  • does anyone have a desktop-sized version of the picture at 1:55? it used to be one of my favorite backgrounds but i lost it when my hard drive died...

  • Both of you guys have no good points, Pink floyd with and without syd is amazing, no one can hate syd because he revolutionized their sound, and then roger took the hand, so if you were a so called "fan" of pink floyd, you would love all of their music.

  • Why does it all got to be so terribly loud? For me, frankly, its too loud. I just can't bare it. I happened to have grown up with the string quartet which is a bit softer. So, uh, why does it got to be so loud?

  • @Gold753 Haha! Nice one! That's the comment that interviewer made after they did that performance with Syd Barrett in the mid-60s, wasn't it?

  • this music was made for the movie "More", perfect soundtrack!!!!

  • the artwork at 0:36 <333 LMFAO GILMOUR AND ROGER.

  • @cgundddd Keep love in mind.

  • @pinkstarburst95 you are right. i'm an idiot. the song is sabbath heavy so what is my problem! not lightweight at all!! i'll be more positive.

  • @pinkstarburst95 love. in. mind. this =. mind.

  • @pinkstarburst95 subete hanasa you. mata atanara

  • @pinkstarburst95 i have to apologize for the negative comments. oops! i love early and later pink floyd. i misbehaved. sorry it was on your page. sooorrrrryyyy.

  • I feel sorry for you cgundddd for not being able to fully enjoy this epic fucking masterpiece. cant you hear how much raw energy they put into it? it kills me everytime!

  • @cgundddd Haha 'my opinion of music has nothing to do with a dysfunctioning brain' ..... fucking love it mate!!!

  • @uptheironsfromlondon thanks!!. i was actually bombarded with hatred on just one comment to this song. it actually really is a bad song. pink floyd fans are really nazis. we all have different opinions and they are all intelligent and worthy of being heard?? NOT FOR THE PINK FLOYD beer drinking losers. only one opinion is allowed. "HITLER IS THE GREATEST GENIUS". and that's all they will allow. oh well. i will never again attempt to text on their loser pages. THEY CAN HAVE IT ALL TO THEMSELVES.

  • @cgundddd oh yeah love. i forgot, ooops!! nile song is actually a very good try from the remainder of pink floyd after syd. i didn't expect the volume of negatives when i posted. i've posted on many songs but never got the amount of hatred when i posted this one. wow.

  • @cgundddd you guys are really passionate so that's good. but i like my syd. and this is really bad in that context. waters and gilmour got better after, i do admit. but i like my syd, the interstellar overdrive and millionaire guy, not the gnome and that bad stuff. but posting on syd NOONE really understands.

i really bet NOONE will get this one. but, as always, i apologize, i was a bit too insulting. syd still kicks all that pop stuff up all your asses.

  • @cgundddd Syd was good but i thought the early Floyd had a very Beatles type sound to it with songs like "See Emily Play" whereas Waters' voice has this incredibly unique, hypnotizing voice paired with deep lyrics, and that progressive rock-opera sound is epic. I think Roger was a better band leader too he's very involved, and very creative, likely why Floyd had the problems they had with him, he's headstrong and a perfectionist. Do you prefer Syd to Waters'? If so why is that?

  • @cgundddd It might have something to do with the fact that you like penis.

  • @ika3791 ha! got you! mentioning sexuality is the last resort of a loser who has absolutely nothing to say. feel sorry for you and your penis-mind. I WIN!! hahaha.

  • @cgundddd Congrats you still eat penises.

  • @ika3791 congrats penis minded fool. you eat shit too? sophomoric moron. nice use of a half formed brain.

  • @cgundddd Im not sure what you just said due to my half mind but you still eat penis.

  • @ika3791oh. ok, another mail from ika. mr ika squid. how amusing and hilarious the mails! hahahaha. i love them and i admire your extremely intelligent wit and exceptional analysis of the present world situation inherent in the subtext of your ever present message which seems to be a microcosm in theoretical terms of the present world situation.

  • @ika3791 they dialectically relate, (UNERRINGLY i might add) to the subject of the relation of the composition of "the nile song", in an exciting and provocative way, a way that convinces all who view these pages, to it's relevance in a present context, of it's unerring truth, of the life in present terms, so to speak.

  • @ika3791 truly a remarkable and unassailable criticism. applause from here! applause. so what, may i and others i have spoken with, what, may we ask, of your unappetizing desire for male sexual members???

  • @ika3791 ika squid. yeah. squid!. hahahaha. you impress me with just the name. LOSER. i'm off to more intelligent places. leaving you behind. it's amazing that seriously challenged humans are on this planet. byby!! hahahahaha!!

  • @ika3791 bye bye! hahahahaha!!!

  • @cgundddd OH COME ON!! i thought you would have a really sophomoric moron reply! disappointed!! all you beer drinking mob audience of losers responsible for kurt cobain's suicide, jim morrison's death, hendrix puking into his lungs. WHERE ARE YOU NOW?? totally disappointed. where do you go, after the deed is done.

  • @cgundddd after the brylcreem is poured on our heads, after the whiskey is drunk, after we go to bellevue. where is the chorus of "whoooooooo!!!" where is the beer drinking college football mob asshole nonsence?? DISAPPOINTING.

  • It may be one of the least Pink Floyd "sounding" PF songs, but it's one of the best!

  • I'm still sure that around 3:04 there is a picture of all 5 Pink Floyd Members, including Syd. He played on Saucerful of Secrets and then split.

  • @cgundddd If you're talking about Syd Barrett, than you have an altered view on reality. If you really perfer his nersery rhimes over the epic albums that Pink Floyd made after his departure, then you have a messed up head.

  • @pinkstarburst95, I'm not sure if you realize, but there's a whole lot of British adult sarcasm and eerie depth in Syd's songs. They are far from nursery rhymes. You would never have had one Floyd without the other.

  • @pinkstarburst95 Gotta love having a messed up head, then! I do like Pink Floyd's later stuff, for sure, but Arnold Layne, See Emily Play and Astronomy Domine are just incredible, along with pretty much everything else Syd wrote, too. I think it's a bit ignorant to dismiss the stuff he wrote as 'nursery rhymes' just because it isn't quite as epic as their later works. Nothing wrong with a bit of pop music!

  • @jjmsmusic They were nursery rhymes. Psychadellic ones, but still nursery rhymes. Look at the lyrics to "The Gnome", or "See Emily Play". His songs may be very catchy and his songwriting is origional, but it's hard to praise Syd at all without really praising the other members for their work which easily outshines Syd's.

  • @pinkstarburst95 well said mate your one of the few who dont look at things in one way

  • @pinkstarburst95 the Nile Song has nothing to do with Syd.This is from the album "More" which was done after Syd left or was thrown out of his own band. This was the new Pink Floyd, with David Gilmour their new guitarist/co writer /singer.David is the one singing on the Nile Song.(he is a great singer and one of the greatest guitarists in the world today. But without Syd there would be no Pink Floyd."

  • @STRATCAT101, I know all of this.

  • @STRATCAT101 True. There would have been no Pink Floyd without Barett, but they would have definetely been destroyed, if they had carried on with him.

  • @pinkstarburst95 NERSERY!! hahaha. you ned to be put into a nursery. SLEEP!! SLEEEEEP!!!

  • @pinkstarburst95 yeah those EPIC ALBUMS!! wow, so impressed. oh i give up!!

  • @pinkstarburst95 wtf syd barret made some sick as songs fucker

  • @pinkstarburst95 Well then, I must have a messed up head too. I love post-Barrett Pink Floyd but my favourite album is Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, and I think Barrett was a musical and lyrical genius.

Funny how you describe Barrett's lyrics as nursery rhymes, because in my mind he wrote some really dark material.

Of course, "each to their own". A phrase you should remember before casting judgement on others based on your personal taste.

  • if you like nursery rhymes about gnomes, bicycles, gingerbread men, and scarecrows

  • when i hear this song... i want to eat some peyote

  • Hi everyone... i remember there was a track in this album before this song; i remember it have no lyrics just music... do you remember which one im talking about?

    cheers!
