  • They say after you take 10 doses of LSD you are considered legally insane. If that's the case then I am legally insane 100 times over.

  • U can read about Albert Hoffmans first experience with LSD by visiting Albert Hoffmans wikipedia site. Go to external references section then click on LSD: My Problem Child. This is the complete book available online. RIP Alert Hoffman. At 102 years old.

  • LSD is NOT temporary, it still has a profound effect on how i view our world. The changes (mind expansion) have been for the better in my case.

  • LSD deleted my depression and anxiety ( which was a disorder I couldn't stand ). It also made more spiritual which allowed me to wake up and change for the better. LSD is awesome.

  • He has Grey hair.

  • Try Tony Parsons.... ;o)

  • "it's a molecule with miracle written all over it"

  • Sounds like without this drug, none of this would have happened. Are we okay with that?

  • @sprtrmp88keys You're looking at it from the wrong angle. Without his inspiration, in this case psychedelic drugs, none of it would have happened... But all artists need inspiration.

  • @sprtrmp88keys the drug itself was a mistake. he was attempting to create a medicine to cure "cluster migranes" and lysergic diethylamide happened to be part of that concoction. Alex is failing to tell the story of Alberts first bike ride while on acid. He did not try to do this, it landed on his shoulders and everyone blames him for it. Did you know he attempted to use the drug to cure alcoholism and drug dependance with a 50% success rate vs. the 10% of traditional psychology?

  • @jasensullivan No.They don`t globe like that sober. That`s one of the good sides of this extemely interesting drug, which I have a great deal of respect for. Sober or not. But with LSD, like all things, there is one dark and one bright side. Do you really want to see both? I have to add that this is written in a simple way. The case of <<phsycedlics have many sides.

  • psychedelics are not drugs if you use them for good

  • "Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather."

  • WARNING,STUPID COMMENTARY:

He looks like an older version of the lead singer of the band "HIM"

  • @FCKundo Get out..

  • wtf is that devil doing there alex grey?

  • No better than the mainstream news**

  • Yes you can't do deep research into LSD without hearing about Mk Ultra. Mk Ultra is well known. The CIA tried to test LSDs potential as a weapon, a truth serum, ect. They failed cause LSD is purely good. "HIGH ALL THE TIME and having no effect positively for the betterment of your childerens' futures" If anything LSD has showed me to not be like that. I know who the real enemies are. If you think it's LSD you obviously don't and are spreading misinformation and bullshit propaganda. No b

  • dude I know all about MK Ultra but can only laugh at these comments. Try some acid and shut up hahaha.

  • MK ULTRA! C.I.A. MK ULTRA! WALT DISNEY MIND CONTROL AND MK ULTRA AND LSD AND THE TAVISTOCK INSTITUTE AND THE BEATLES MIND CONTROL. it wasn't mind expansion, people, it was MIND CONTROL THROUGH MK ULTRA AND THE C.I.A. (sorry to break it to yah, but hey, santa ain't real either,)

  • @pamaspamas you're an idiot.

  • @ANGELSETSFIRE yes. yes i am an idiot. but me being an idiot does not change THE FACT I HAVE JUST PRESENTED. go read the CIA's documents on MK ULTRA and how LSD was distributed through the Tavistock agencies to promote a generation of longhairs wacked out on LSD, it was the private BANKSTTERS agenda to have that generation INCAPABLE of knowing the REAL ENEMY and the TAKEOVER OF THE CONSTITUTION. all documented. all fact. you may wish to look into it and find out for yourself. good luck.

  • @ANGELSETSFIRE and on a further note, if any of you are sitting around HIGH ALL THE TIME and having no effect positively for the betterment of your childerens' futures or self-reliance survival wise, then i REST MY CASE. are ones incapacitated to the reality of the situation, then THEY HAVE GOT YOU RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT YOU. mind expansion? excuses excuses. i ain't buyin it. it may well do that, but don't HAVE A CRUTCH FROM IT.

  • @pamaspamas Stop polluting the gene pool. Kill yourself.

  • @pamaspamas troll alert. But after watching videos similar to these I'm reminded of what a genius Alex Grey is, and I can't wait for my first LSD psychedelic experience!

  • @ANGELSETSFIRE I am astonished by how easely you folks who chat here turns to words like "idiot", "go kill yourself", etc. isnt`t it possible to have a highly more intelligent conversation than that?

  • @pamaspamas Right.

  • acid is tha motha fuckin shitt!!!hahahah

  • @melodymbailey Mellow Herbs r Much Safer Than LSD Once you pop ur Acid Tab In your mouth after it explodes or you begin to Feel the Acid, It's Hard to Control unless u r a Strong Positive person... However Life Is Too Beautiful 2 Take Chances with a Hallucinate ! Peace Love & Safety ! !

  • This is really cool cause i can relate to what he says fully. At the peak of my drug usage i was pretty bad, but the last thing i tried was some LSD and it opened my mind to my full potential and ive been following that potential ever since that about 2 or 3 yrs ago. I think im ready for another trip now. :D

  • @anghellicninja420 Mellow Herbs r Much Safer Than LSD Once you pop ur Acid Tab In your mouth after it explodes or you begin to Feel the Acid, It's Hard to Control unless u r a Strong Positive person... However Life Is Too Beautiful 2 Take Chances with a Hallucinate ! Peace Love & Safety ! !

  • @carmenlidia1 well i guess im a strong positive person w/e ever that means lol. well i just just fine and the world is beautiful. thats why i would like to see it in many forms to see just how beautiful it can be! Thats what acids all about in some minds :)

  • @anghellicninja420 I have tried to travell in my mind. With phsycedelics. And I have travelled in the world. Seen a lot both with and without the drug. And yes, the world is beatiful. Try it by airplane, angel... travel with your body too. Make love. See different countries. I doubt that you today, in the society with all its influences, will bring you to the dimension of the Shaman. I assume u know what a shaman is. Maybe a little on the side of the matters that are discussed here, 3.eye, etc.

  • @lene2376 Beautiful comment btw. ^.^

Check out my new channel AstralPossibilities (search that in youtube toolbar) that I've been working on to see what I'm all about. You might be impressed how far I've gotten in my society. Of course I never interacted physically much compared to most. That may have helped. I was always a free thinker and never a popular one but one unusually random ppl felt close to.

A shaman, to my understanding, is one who contacts higher beings. That's my understanding.

  • I NEED TO MEET THIS GUY.

  • LSD was created for the purpose of PSYCHOTHERAPY.

Then the criminals and governmental agencies/drug runners hijacked it and turned it to shit, forcing it on people not ready for the experience all the time.

Stop blaming the drug, psychedelics play a pivotal role in the evolution of consciousness.l

  • @Guitarscreech06 Well said.

  • He's clearly reading off something for most of this. He's a great artist, but he sounds like a bullshitter to me sometimes. Seems like too much of his spiritual beliefs rely on hallucinogens and psychedelics.

  • freemason? luciferian artist

  • lol there is the shpongle head at 2:25

  • @miguli666 haha I noticed that too!

  • neurosoup is a federal informant see neurosoupfraud vid.alex is family long live

  • i would like to try lsd and dmt

  • These compounds are rare, expensive and very illegal.

  • When i was tripping i learned the secret or the universe. I would like to meet Alex and share it i would also like to build a guitar and have him paint something on it and see if it has some little changes on me.

  • The Psychedelic Experience: A manual based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead, By Timothy Leary, Ph.D., Ralph Metzner, Ph.D., & Richard Alpert, Ph.D. is one of the best texts to utilize LSD with. Alex's art makes some great imagery in "setting", though mindfolds (blindfolds and earplugs) are quite useful as well.

  • what if?

  • lmao steven jacobb, stfu, just...stfu

  • He is just getting old. M grandmother does the same thing, and she has never touched any type of drug.

  • "Any natural Scientist who is not a Mystic is not a natural Scientist" Albert Hofmann

  • One time while i was on LSD i solved PI....

turns out to be pecan. ~_0

  • Angel tears: "Its really a medicin to wake us up to our own potential" = Lachrymology

This is an important thing Maynard James Keenan is inspired of.

  • Alex you're fucking cool...and so is St. Albert...;)

  • I agree with DaftStyle, the drugs only ll provide you a temporary feeling of expansion of the consciouness and perception, but thats the problem, its temporary! I have tried some times and yes its amazing, you can see how things really are and each time you take you can understand more.

but i think its only good to see how things look and than if you really want to open your mind and achieve something in your life go know your true self through meditation, contemplation and self discipline.

  • i do agree but it takes so much time!!

  • @Strokkkk exactly

  • @Strokkkk That`s what I found out, also. After several experiments with LSD. Now the field of meditation is much more expiering. But by taking this drugs, you may open doors in your mind that you`ll never be able to close again. Agree?

  • @Strokkkk excellent point - but I think if you bring your ideas back from the trip you begin to understand the bigger picture with essentially more questions that you would never have asked. & in time perphaps answers also.....

  • @Strokkkk Every person has a different way of doing what needs too be done, To reach the same common Goal, Knowingly or otherwise.

  • @Strokkkk its not temporary unless you tell yourself its temporary. if your using psychedelics and not learning anything from it, please leave it to the small amount of the population that uses these tools to find the answers to life. "psychonauts" i believe it was tim leary that said that lsd should be limited to artists and musicians......i cant agree more

  • Alex Grey kinda looks like an extra-terrestial. I think our DNA structures are becoming mixed with new ones. Ever noticed how extrodinary people tend to have strange and unique features. Maybe I'm bias cause I think it would be the coolest thing ever if not only we have already had 1st contact but were mixed species. That would mean we're like the party planet of the universe. ; )

  • I enjoyed that theory CosmicJediGoat. All forms of life are essentially hybrids in one way or another, so why couldn't we be alien-human hybrids?

  • woops typo *genius :3

  • How is albert hoffman a genious? he discovered effects of LSD by accident. I think he is cool, but not a genious

  • hes seriously my uncle

  • What's your name then?

  • ya in my dreams hes my uncle man rofl

  • You're possibly the strangest person I've ever come across.

  • Welcome to reality.

    Make yourself at home!

You can sit next to the whacko the beats people with a dildo, right across from the airheded girl with the obsession with the Jonas Brothers,

With so much humans, it's hard not to be strange.

  • Nowaday's, the strange are the realistic ones.

  • @Xxero0 best quote i've heard in a while.

  • Alex Grey is so bad at speaking, kind of like obama.

  • after an acid trip I always feel extremely happy and anticipated for the future

  • Tool eye done by grey @ 2:28!

  • eating angel tears..

  • Agree with Alex 100%! Acid is amazing when used by a person with sound mind in the right set & setting. I also reccomend using it occasionally no more than once or twice a year its much more enjoyable that way.

  • No sir, drive by's with super soakers full of acid on churches

  • @iscream22 agreed iv seen too many people abuse this wonderful thing and develop psychotic/schizophrenic tendancies

  • @Delicorish i used it once and because of the person i was with and the setting i was in, i had a horrible trip. Psychotic isn't the word, beyond psychosis this was. This was something different. Be warned folks, reality is NOT what you think it is. Don't bobble into something like this as if it were just a silly thing. That goes double because I was supposedly "ready" after months of research and stories from my friends. But once it started going bad, there was no going back. Spirits are real.

  • You obviously don't know Alex Grey.

  • Comment removed

  • Alex Grey may have chewed cocoa leaves while abroad, but I doubt he frequently "hits the crack pipe." Clearly, he prefers entheogens over refined narcotics. However, I suppose after watching "Refer Madness" one might confuse pot with crack.

  • Perhaps, but saying so without an explanation is ad hominem and distracts from the message (tribute to Albert Hoffman and recognition for a lifetime of pioneering work) he is attempting to convey'. Alex seems lucid enough and if you've sufficiently "read up" and seen his amazing art work, you might be hard pressed to reduce him down to someone that has "smoked alot of crack."

  • despite the condescending reply, i agree 100% with you. you do not need chemicals to induce these brain waves and states.

  • If you don't use those then how could you know? Plus, Alex Grey also meditates without using, as do other people I know. They claim that both ways are great, yet different experiences. Plus, most people can't get over our western discourse that all drugs are bad, which I know is not true as I have taken part in extremely non-western practices, which also included Alex Grey and Terence Mckenna's brother Dennis. I beg to differ on your idea. It's only perspective. Some dig it and some don't.

  • no way. mushrooms are kind of just crazy, zany trips that are kind of cloudy and confusing, where as lsd is a clear spiritual awakening experience

  • His paintings make me sick.

  • If you smoke enough pot it can be quite similar to LSD. A lot of people don't think marijuana is a psychedelic but it is.

  • I'd agree with this to a point - I've had more intense psychedelic experiences with cannabis than with LSD. It is however down to the dose.

  • yes i agree..cannabis can be pretty psychedelic at high doses but ive never even come close to the psychedelic state of lsd with cannabis. if you dont mind can you tell me your story. did you smoke an unbelievable amount or what?

  • If you eat cannabis cooked in oil or butter and baked into cookies or brownies, you can ingest a large dose that has strong psychedelic effects. I recommend doing it on an almost-empty stomach and then going for a long, strenuous hike in an expansive natural area, say on the coast or in a desert. You'll trip your face off. Best done alone or with one or two like-minded companions. Avoid contact with uncool people; they'll just bring you down.

  • yeah i ate a few cannabis cookies once and i got unbelievably high, almost getting into psychedelic realms. so i assume if i ate more it would be more of the same. however, i would just rather get some mushrooms or lsd instead

  • Yeah I hear yah, I often espouse similar trends. But I think we tend to do this because of culturally related issues......as Terrance Mckenna pointed out while cannabis isn't an indole, it is a very powerful spiritual experience in high doses, he even called it the LSD of the ancient world.

  • It depends on what you smoke. Cannabis Sativa the plant that came from the tropics is more of a heady uplifting high and if you smoke enough you can trip. If you make it into Hash it's much easier to get there.

  • Good clean LSD is the best. No toxic stomach cramps to bum your trip. Just a supercharged skull-opening mind-launch. Can't beat it.

  • i agree. nothing beats it. i always say that LSD is an all-inclusive drug. you can be as happy as on excasty..have a body high like on opiates or be upped like on stimulants. no drug beats the experience of LSD. other drugs have "highs" but LSD isn't just a high..its an experience.

  • LSD: first drug i ever did!

  • Comment removed

  • okay rated bad cause I made a typo, good job youtubers

  • mushrooms were considered a spiritual cleansing of sorts, mainly because what they technically do is toxicate you with toxin, and make you lose your mind for a few hours. lsd is A LOT more introspective.

  • no. they dont put a toxin in you. it puts chemicals called psilocybin and psilocin which are non-toxic chemicals. as are most other psychedelics

  • they are actually a poison... but an amazing poison.

  • .....psilocyben is a poisen

  • no......it is not. psilocybin is chemically very similar to LSD and DMT (which is naturally produced in our body). psilocybin differs from DMT by a matter of a couple oxygen molecules. they are all very similar to serotonin as well which is a very important chemical produced in our body...then what you mean is our body produces poisons and puts them in our body...which is not true.

  • all psychedelics are very similar chemically as they have something called indole ring. if you say that psilocybin is a poison then you are saying that all psychedelics are poisons..which they are not. look up your information..

p.s. there other hallucinogenic mushrooms which contain poisons but these do not contain psilocybin..you may have gotten mixed up.

  • yeah i agree. LSD is much more spiritual than mushrooms

  • I agree with Robert, I find mushrooms much more spiritual, in fact, mushrooms are "more natural" than LSD as they are just grown, but LSD must be lab synthesized. Anyway, both substances are great!

  • Mushrooms rip your psyche wide open and have their way with you. LSD is similar but as previously stated runs a bit more like a well oiled machine and also doesn't have the nausea

  • The biggest difference is the control you have over the experience. You're much more in control. With that being said, you still have to realize you are on a hallucinogen. I think you might understand what I'm saying. It feels much more "clear" and "focused". It's hard to explain. But I would dare say that in many ways it is much more desirable than shrooms. I'm still fond of shrooms however, it's just that it is a different experience. I hoped this helped a little.

  • Yeah, on LSD you dont feel drunk or groggy. you still feel clear headed and normal but at the same time youre obviously not in your normal consciousness. its hard to explain.

  • I don't use LSD. I don't want to put chemicals in me so I don't take x or coke or any of that stuff. But i do use weed and shrooms.

  • Shrooms and weed act chemically just as LSD. So don't be fooled, every day, every time you breath or eat, you're putting chemicals in your body. LSD these days has sadly become an onslaught of research chemicals and most younger people have neither the knowledge or experience to know what they are actually getting.

  • being one with the plants is good and all but you dont have to deny yourself the mind-expansion capabilities of lsd. let me turn you on to morning glory seeds.

  • yes morning glory seeds r awesome except for the nausea but they are worth it

  • ...also known as Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds. (morning glory & Hawaiian Baby Woodrose are not exactly the same plant, but they are similar.) both contain the naturally occurring psychedelic LSA (d-lysergic acid amide). as opposed to LSD (d-lysergic acid diethylamide) which is not naturally occurring. I would have to agree that LSA is awesome, especially for those who say they will only do 'natural' psychedelics. & if you scrap off the fuzzy covering of the seed, that will cut down on the nausea

  • ur missin out

  • if im missing out on lsd, what about it makes it different than shrooms?

  • i like mushrooms better, cause the dosing on acid is hard to decipher.

i also like morning glory seeds, which gives the same effects of acid, with a more natural feel to it.

  • who cares of the dosing? i just do as much as possible. I do acid every weekend to go into my spiritual state. the more the merrier

  • the differences are subtle, but they are there. i find LSD more 'totally' immersive than psilocybin, but this will depend of the quality and condition of the LSD and the dose. If you have a good, sustainable source of psilocybin containing mushrooms then you're not 'missing out' on LSD. The experience is what's important, not the chemical.

  • LSD and the active chemical in mushrooms, psilocybin, are very similar. and when you take mushrooms or smoke weed, you still are putting chemicals in your body. if you like mushrooms....you will most likely love LSD

  • Let's look at it from another angle. If there is a oneness - what's the point? What are we to do, spend millenia existing together achieving 'nothing' but universal happiness? What then? Quite seriously. Stars still spend billions of years forming, planets still burn. There must be physical progress, literal progress. Oneneness, ok, but that's as far as they go. I don't want to be one with it. I want progress, and more progress, and more. That's all that ever was and should be, literal movement.

  • I bet you're feeling pretty good right now, Gumpy, telling everyone "how it really is". If you've stopped searching for meaning, the only reason for you to be saying that is so your ego can consume you further. Nihilism is a terrible disease, so I wish you the best of health.

  • I'm saying it because instead of believing in the same old bullshit we've been for millenia I'm hoping more people can exist in the real world and find their own fucking meaning, instead of supplicating THEIR egos by believing in yet another miracle. Don't talk to me about nihilism. I've seen things that would make your toes curl. But I picked myself back up and found meaning by myself, and it is a literal one, without the petty pain of more broken promises. It's called "Truth".

  • by trying to be one with IT, one isn't supplicating their own egos... they are forgoing their ego to achieve oneness. however, you my friend are supplicating your ego by separating yourself from everyone. we are all possessed by the same consciousness, ONLY our egos separate us and make us believe in our individuality and separateness from everyone and everything else in the universe.

  • Universal happiness does not exist, 'oneness' is false. The propensity of people who have taken these drugs to create some great set of conclusions is just a symptom of the human minds' ability to search for, put together and find meaning. It is not real.

There is no oneness. Your brain is lying to you and you are believing it. The stars throb and flame out there millions of miles away, and a few collections of cells on a lonely little planet muse about a Great Meaning. It doesn't exist. Man up.

  • before you so broadly speak your.. enlightened mind.. do some research buddy.

look up the "Phantom DNA Effect".

  • Of course there would be a 'force' but it doesn't mean it's an energy field, something your conscious mind can blend with. It's just electricity, it's just the fundamental communication. I accept that but to claim it as another dimension is too much, too far. We are still literal.

  • you know that everything you experience in your life is your brain's interpretations of electric signals sent from your 5 senses. with that said, what's to say that certain molecules can't change your brain's way of interpreting those signals and put you in a place where you can have an experience outside of your physical body?

  • But your senses only work one way. If something changes them it doesn't alter the way they work, it just interferes and makes them do weird things. And your senses are tied to your body, it experiencing the outside world, they can't percive your body separately, as if they exist somewhere else in space. That's imagination running wild with the base parts of the senses still functioning, so it feels real cos you can FEEL it, butit's just a fabrication of your conscious.

  • Anyway man your DNA comment got me thinking and I'm kinda trolling this video so I'll leave you guys alone and consider my views for a while. Sorry for creating a ruckus, I've really got to tame my opinions when it comes to youtube :|

  • The more real oneness is revealed in meditation... entheogens and psychedelics and hallucinogens reveal mostly only astral and etheric aspects of conscious experience, but meditation shows the atmic and beyond expansions of consciousness.

  • There's an element to this that's missing. Psychedelics are incredibly influential in our development of technology. Please see my Earth Night videos if you want more info. I feel most psychedelics have an effect similar to the Internet-opening the valve to more information. However, if high doses are combined with a meditation/trance/dance/sex we can perhaps explore new dimensions of the universe beyond traditional meditation. This is the wild goddess at work :)

  • Yes it is! C'est dominatrix d'ego!

  • Oneness is the point beyond (dualistically), but here and now (nondualistically and dualistically and integrally).

  • I agree with the idea, I don't like how you presented it. These powerful emotions experienced with these compounds may not be this oneness, but as the universe is so completely vast and for the most part very empty (on this density level) I can not say that they ARE not oneness or complete happiness. Your mind essentially is this universe, and what ever it generates who is to say is not real? For all I know nothing exists but my consciousness creating all this. I'm a figment of my imagination.

  • Very Zen.. the oneness beyond conceptual oneness? beyond meaning? perhaps? the unspeakable, unattainable? Tao? all yes and no, neither or either ..or is it?

"there are no such things as things"

  • Oneness that is beyobnd but here and now.

  • Let's do this. LSD releases you from your ego boundaries, which are formed when you are a very small child. The 'oneness' you feel is a result of being once again on that plane, at the very bottom, and it is not a link to the 'Force', or the 'Light', or a oneness with the universe. Children feel great compassion and oneness. It is a psychological trait designed to start the devlopment of a child and leave him attached to his mothers and peers.

  • I am half Peruvian, I know about south and central american cultures and drinks etc.

The problem with taking drugs is that you still have desires when you come down.

Thus it will never give real lasting Realization or enlightenment, just a different astral trips, but that's not the highest reality. If only IT was so easy!

If you ever need to take something externally, and are dependent on that, you will not find the Highest Knowledge.

Chemicals show you thing that are natural, but no more.

  • DaftStyle you speak the truth. That is partially why I haven't tried any drugs... yet. Though, I have been meditating for the past 4 years full on.

  • The rig veda talks about soma, Huxley called LSD moskha, the hindu word for liberation.

Many saints have refused disciples who use drugs of various forms, if you cannot reach enlightenment and realization through concentration alone, you still have desires.

  • LSD does not allow one to puncture into the core of reality.

A discoverer of a chemical is not at the level of a Realized Master, such as Buddha.

A molecule is never be a miracle.

Spirit goes beyond physiological workings of body and mind and brain juices.

As Ram Dass said "expansion of consciousness is a natural property of consciousness"

The ancient Rishis of India knew very much about different medicines to give a person siddhis or powers and visions.

  • We don't live in India. We have a drug , wich gives us a chance of being more aware. In some cultures don't use drugs. but South, Central, and North America it is known that our ancestors used allucigenics in their effort to reach the light .And because they are my ancestors not the Rishis, I have no problem in using substances to reach enlightment. Unless you want to enter in a discussion of whos knowledge is better, hand shake. We have the same goal

  • it seems alot of people owe albert their life??/

  • Albert Hoffmann is Gandalf!

    And Alex is his son.

  • Excellent! Thanks for posting this!

  • I forgive you, this is a small part of ignorance. I hope you become aware of your pain and suffering sooner or later. This individual seperateness is causing us all harm.

  • if albert hofmann never made that discovery. i would be a completley different human being.....

  • better or worse?

  • Just different man. I dont think it would be better or worse, you would just be different.

  • Thx Luc Sala. I really aprecciate your work

  • thank you grey, mindlift, and hoffman. happy trails albert.
