They are testing the device to see what it can handle, once they know fully, they will release the ability for 3rd party apps.

Zune definitely. the UI looks great, and it runs fast. You have Wi-fi, which has a web browser and file sharing. Theres also HD radio. The fact that anyone can make games and apps with XNA is also a huge plus. I also like the zune software way more.
