  • I actually like this version a lot better than the original

  • Funny that a "slower take" of another song actually becomes 40 times more powerful in the end

  • Comment removed

  • This is so amazing

  • 1196 likes and only 13 no likes this song. It's no normal! I LOVE MUSE (L) :P

  • wow .. perfect song .... I love you muse

  • wow...

  • Who's returned from the dead? Who remains?

Who really cares anymore? Who restrains?

  • Hyper Music slow-motion <3

  • Usually, artists remake songs of other artists; but MUSE can remake their songs...

  • I don't know what to say i barely lost my voice

  • Once again, I clicked "Dislike" by accident...

  • I forgot what I was going to say.:O:O

  • this is sexy.

  • "Hyper music" and "Hyper Chrondriac Music" is actually both the SAME and a completely DIFFERENT song all at the same time.

Only a special band like Muse can do this

  • Perfect....

  • Now I want to go out of reality least for 5 minutes - 0:00 - . Someone meditates, and someone listen to this.

  • I can't stop listening to this, it's so beautiful.

  • shivers at 1:54, every single time

  • Somehow if I ever get a tattoo, I know it'll be about/from this song. It just brings up so much emotion.

  • When a band's B-sides are this good, you know you're dealing with a very special band.

  • This is the slow version of Hyper Music...

  • @Snicks1397 no shit

  • "I don't love you and i never DiD"

"I don't love you and i never WiLL"

    :'(

  • I love this! I never thought a song as powerful and loud as Hyper Music could ever sound this good as a ballad, but Muse has pnce again proven me wrong :)

  • Love this song, amazingly strong

  • Check out Five Minutes Til Bedtime's Live cover of Hyper Chondriac here @ their official channel! Subscribe if you like!

  • love hyper music and love this version too........love muse :D

  • <3

  • 1:55 :)

  • i want this played at my funeral

  • goosebumps :O :D.. Muse <3

  • Bringt mich immer wieder zum weinen ,... dieses Lied macht jede Situation traurig * schnief * So schöön.

  • Oh Muse, where have you gone? I miss how you used to be. Really hoping that if they play the entire Origin of Symmetry album(or parts of it) at their upcoming gigs it still actually sounds good. I'm afraid the sound they used to have is lost on them.

  • @CitizenErasedRulez

they'll play it all in reading and leeds

  • @CitizenErasedRulez They said in an interview that they were jamming Hyper Music and it sounded like a school band cover :( i think us real musers who have been here from the start have to accept that we got the peak and should be happy for it

  • the dislikes on the bar are almost as small as JBiebs wiener

  • omg i love this better than hyper music :D

  • @RECON828 No way is this song better then Exit Music (for a film), it doesnt sound like it either, this song is off Ok Computer, where all the tracks are great, it's considered to be the greatest album of all time :p, to even compare muse to radiohead is just silly! i love muse and their 2nd and 3rd albums, 1st and 4th are good too.

  • @gon2bed86 I'd disagree with both the things you just said there. It reminds me of EM and a few other radiohead songs a lot because of the mood and tempo and you definitely can compare muse to radiohead as they're the same genre and muse obviously took a lot of inspiration from radiohead. I actually prefer EM, just think this has more powerful lyrics and didn't want to offend any muse fans. I personally converted to radiohead but still listen to muse - they're a good band.

  • its be sweet if they played this version at readings and leeds with that ending

  • This takes me into another world, i prefer this slowed version.

  • Haunting and beautiful.

  • The moods of muse..

    Happy-Map of your head.

    Sad-Blackout

In love- Falling away with you.

    Depressed-Prague

    Lonely- Hyper Chondriac Museic

    Excited- In your world.

    Angry- Showbiz

Dancing- Thoughts of a dying atheist

    x <3 x

  • @TheMusesongs

I agree, except I think Hyper Chondriac Music draws with Con-science for the lonely spot.

  • @TheMusesongs

Have you ever actually listened to Blackout's lyrics?

  • @TheMusesongs i'd say angry would definitely be micro cuts! so much hate coming from that song haha :) and depressed would probably be space dementia :) my opinions though, people hear songs in different ways xx

  • @TheMusesongs

Wow. You just made my day by pointing a muse song out to me that I didn't know! I didn't know prague :o

  • @TheMusesongs omg that is so true :( haha i am feeling lonely and i always go to this song

  • @TheMusesongs

    Heartbroken - Unintended

    Powerful - Knights of Cydonia

  • HI BRYONY !!! :D LOVELY SISTER <3

  • To be honest this is one of the songs where I think they do sound like Radiohead. I've listened to Muse first so when I heard Exit Music I immediately thought of this song. I don't have a problem with it though, but I can see why people can find them similar. Unlike some songs where Radiohead fans just purposely try to find resemblances.

  • Wauww, so fcking beautiful!

  • Beautiful <3

  • As for the song meaning, well I think there is a metaphor involving hyperspace in there somewhere- I read this book called Hyperspace which is about higher dimensions and string theory, and pretty sure that's where Matt got the phrase 'origin of symmetry' from

  • @jimim22 Okay, I guess I went a little out of line when I said Muse was Radiohead's younger brother. That's not really true. But this song in particular is VERY similar to Radioheads work. Including the guitar.

  • @KristianCollie For the record, Radiohead are incredible. I did meet thom yorke once though, surfing as it happens. He was a bit of a moody prick so I like to pretend that was someone else.

  • Really don't get the Radiohead Muse comparisons any more. I mean Radiohead are all about subtlety, Muse about epicness. thom yorke would NEVER put drums and distorted guitar like this in one of his songs.

  • @jimim22 You obviously have never heard Exit Music, Creep, Just, Paranoid Android or about 50% of Radiohead songs.

  • @jimim22 Are you serious? Have you even LISTENED to Radiohead? What, did you try them out on Guitar Hero and decide you've already made enough observations on their songwriting style to deny the comparison? Muse is like Radioheads younger brother. You, sir, have lost your privilege to make intelligent commentary on music.

  • @KristianCollie what? Didn't I just say that they aren't very similar? Radiohead are great, but stylistically they try and avoid the whole stadium thing, with beautifully crafted songs and subtle changes in texture and harmony (ignoring KoL which I don't really think does that save codex). I just think their guitar work is really different, you don't see Jonny Greenwood bringing out a tapping solo halfway through Exit Music. I just really don't think they are similar bar vocal ranges.

  • @KristianCollie i think that the guitar is similar, but all the other things are diferent.

  • 10 people missed the thumbs up botton! it's an amazing song and he's got one of the most sensual voices i've ever heard! i love muse!!!

  • Muse =/= Radiohead in any way. The comparison is usually directed at the vocals. Yorke did not invent falsetto. Radiohead are a phenomenal band in their own right, but to say Muse sounds like them is blasphemous. Maybe comparing both bands' debut albums makes a little sense, but they have both taken two very different paths as they have evolved and sound nothing like each other.

  • @MrNesk04 because they are "android paranoid". lol

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful and negative at the same time :)

  • @xDeeJayBee you deaf for sure.

  • @xDeeJayBee Fucking hell...Radiohead fans are never gonna get over it are they. And I looked at your channel, I absolutely adore Andrew Jackson Jihad and Neutral Milk Hotel aswell :)

  • @MatthewAlfrey Haha both amazing songs, but I used to be a huge Muse fan who would slag off RH at any point. Now RH are comfortably my fav band, Muse aren't even in the same universe when it comes to creating original genre defining music.

  • @oliversenord Well I absolutely love Radiohead too, both the two are my favourite bands. I've seen Muse live at Wembley, I have yet to see Radiohead.

  • @xDeeJayBee duno why you're bringing Radiohead up, the songs are very diferent...but both are beautiful.

  • this song is going to be played at my funeral. I'll make sure of it.

  • Why this song wasn't on the trailer for the film '2012' baffles me.

  • This really reminds me of Exit Music (For a Film) from Radiohead. The acoustic guitar and strange noises at the background.

  • MUSE's music is really awesome, but the lyrics normally are without sense... :((

  • @antrii O_O Did you REALLY just sat that? Oh. My. God. I can tell right now that you are not a major Muse fan. The lyrics have TONS of meaning. Apparently you're just blind!

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 lol, i think i am a major Muse fan, I've been to 2 of their concerts, have all their cd's, really love their music!!!! =) But, i don't like their lyrics normally. Ok, in the last album Matt putt more sense in the lyrics of the songs, which refer to resistance, conspiracy... But normally, it's just sentences without sense, put together... The same in this song i think.

  • @antrii They are not random lyrics. Just because they're hard to decipher does not mean they haven't any. For instance, ExoPolitics. Who would know what "sign" he's waiting for when he sings "I'll wait for the sign"? Turns out the song is about PBB (Project Blue Beam). It's not random at all.

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 ExoPolitics is on of the songs where Matt Matt put some sense in the lyrics. Look for example "Recess", where is the sense then? :) Recess is just the first example that came to my mind. Tell me please, what is the deep sense of that song.

  • @antrii Using the lyrics, what others think, and my own interpretation, I think Recess is about a person who is unhappy, doesn't really get the point of living, like "You live, and then you die. Nothing more," but when he finds someone special, he's a changed man ("You've kissed my life"). It's called Recess because it's short for "recessitate" which means to revive.

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 Hm, than the whole sense is put in just 1 or two phrases from the whole song, and the rest of the phrases, what do they do there? "Plains and trains are to blame....." Blame for what, what do the trains have to do with the unhappy person?

"tempting... to cut the chord Dis every word Of the truths absurd" - what is the connection? It reminds me on a 5 year old child, who is just putting words without sense together, so that they sound like a poem :))

  • @antrii PLains and trains to blame could mean that maybe the person he loves left, or had to go somewhere. '"Tempting to cut the chord dis every word of the truths absurd..." Again, the person doesn't see the point of life. "Tempting to cut the chord" probably means to end his life. "Dis every word of the truths absurd" people could be telling him things he doesn't believe, whether it's religion or life or whatnot. If you go into deep thinking about it, it DOES make sense.

  • But I don't blame just Matt for this, almost the whole rock and pop music of today is like this, the songs don't have the poetry any more... No one will write his poems nowadays like Samuel Johnson, Thomas Grey, William Shakespeare. Today, if you want to become a famous musician, you have to write senseless songs(pretending that they have a veeeery deep, hidden meaning), and some notes together, which don't have to be very melodical... Of yes, and you have to be able to make a good show!

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 :))))))))))))

Amigo!!!!!!!!!!! If you mean it in this sense, than i am not a "true fan" :) I am definitely not going to put a bullet in my head for someone i never met in person (even though at the concert i was in the first row!), someone i don't know personally. This is not being a fan, you know, this is being a fanatic! Just admiring something/someone for everything without seeing his negative sides, and doing everything he will say.

  • @antrii I didn't mean it in the sense that Muse fans are going to go shoot themselves in the head! Of course not! What I'm saying, is that why would we be so insanely devoted to something that made no sense?

  • @antrii And I'm not saying you are not a true fan because you wouldn't die for them. I'm saying you're not a true fan if you really think that Matt throws words together that sound sophisticated to make money! That's not what Muse is about AT ALL!

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 I'll stop the argument. It doesn't change anything. I advice you to try to look at the things from more sides, there is nothing perfect in this world. Neither Matt!!!

P.S. I laughed a lot after you deleted the comment where you were saying that a true muser should be able to put a bullet in his head for Chris, Dom or Matt :))))) I hope you will never be a true muser in this sense! :)

  • @antrii Anyway, Matt has nothing to be blamed FOR! He writes about TRUE things, but you have to find the meaning! Most good, rational music doesn't blunt out tell you "Life is boring, and then I met you and you showed me how to live," or "I can't believe I was betrayed in such a way." No, you're going to use METAPHORS, and SIMILES, and EXAGGERATIONS! Along so, the tune of the song can hint you in. Slow song, despair or relaxation. Loud, hyper. Normal, content. It helps put together the pieces.

  • The same as many Islamic radicals, who are ready to blow themselves just because their leaders say it's right. You know, no one is perfect, everyone has smthg to be blamed FOR! :)Maybe it's just me who doesn't see the meaning in the lyrics, or maybe it's you who is a fanatic.... Anyway, this is just my opinion:)

P.S.With "music of today" i mean music of the last decades,it's degrading more and more. Muse is an exception in my opinion, they still have good high quality music, but their lyrics...

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 --I wonder if anyone out there reads poetry on a regular basis. Like the works of Emily Dickinson, for example. She used words in a very unconvetional manner in her works. Poetry, like song lyrics (good ones at least) are metaphors for emotions. Sometimes a phrase is the only way toexpress one's feelings, or to use it as a comparison for something else. Sometimes the lyrics are deliberately nonsensical; if you really want to know--ask the lyricist themselves about it.

  • Just when you start to cry because you think you have listened to every muse song, you find another amazing under masterpiece

  • Even after all these years, this song still gives me goosebumps every single time.

  • I guess I'm not the only one who thinks this sounds like end-of-the-world music

  • amazing song. Also i don't know why i noticed that but at the end of the URL it looks like it says igloo. just saying

  • hello, radio DJ? I'd like to dedicate this song to my ex boyfriend, because this means so much to me....okay, I had to say that, because he is so deserving of it. Especially the lyric 'I don't love you, and I never did'.

Hate me if you will, but if you only knew what that cretin did to me, you'd see why.

  • @Raevynschylde Sounds bad. I'll root for you! :)

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 --appreciate the support. You'd think the schmuck would leave me alone after we broke up a LONG time ago, but the turd has taken up cyberstalking me instead. All that aside, I could never get tired of listening to this. Some songs just click with you--this is one of them.

  • @Raevynschylde Yeah, this song is just amazing. I mean, I love Hyper Music, but Hyper Chondriac Music just goes right to your soul :)

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 --see, there's two versions, depending on what mood you're in ;) Hyper Music when I feel like screaming at the walls, and Hypo-Chondriac Music when I want to tune the world out. Works beautifully. Oh, and I broke up with that jerk 10 YEARS AGO!! He doesn't get it. Sick freak he is. I'll just listen to this again to soothe my nerves.

  • @Raevynschylde True that. And good luck :) Hope you are able to escape the stalker problem.

  • I am so torn between the two versions, though I find myself drawn to this one more. It's like an audio hallucination, a delirium that you don't want to end. I keep picturing a movie sequence where this song is the backdrop. It's just so epic sounding. And yeah, I could listen to this in endless loop.

  • does anyone know if they've ever done a live version of this song?

  • Dis song calms my soul to another level, only possible with a song like this.=)

  • This song is so cool to listen to when you're sitting at a mall, or driving, or mainly doing anything while watching people, even traffic.

  • @MuseForAbsolution So true. I don't know why, but sometimes I even cry when I look at people at listen to this. I just think how selfish and blind people are.

  • @MuseForAbsolution So true. I don't know why, but sometimes I even cry when I look at people at listen to this. I just think how selfish and blind people are. Damn it, that looks so stupid when I read it again but hey, it's true.

  • 1:54 gets me every time :'(

  • No wonder I got it tattooed.

  • @towar222

    Pics please!!

  • @towar222 got what tattooed?

  • @towar222 what did you get tattoed?

  • ...You wanted more than I was worth.. you think I was scared yeah, and you needed proof. Who.. really cares anymore..? Who.. restrains..? ..epic guitar solo!

  • 4ever muse ♥

  • love it ♥

  • i felt that wave of emotion at 0:06 untill the end of the song....kinda like an orgasm...but better xD

  • *** I Love Muse *** Eu não tenho palavras para descrever o que eu sinto a respeito das músicas dos caras... simplismente Amo *** precisa mais ? ♫♥♫

  • This is the only song that has ever made me break into tears. I was trying to get this girl to dump her boyfriend and be with me instead. i was having a rough time, Then this song started playing on the ipod and i just couldn't keep my tears away.

i month later she dumped her boyfriend and has been my girl ever since, which is 1 year and a month now.

amazing how strong this song is

  • Isn't this Citizen Erased slowed down?

  • @danielborges69 It's a slower version of Hyper Music

  • @LuftwaffeJones right! Thanks!

  • *single tear runs down my face*.......ever time

  • This song sums up my last relationship perfectly, ive listened to it 100 times

  • :) I love this song... amazing, Matt voice is so beautiful....:D

  • Ho Putain la chanson la plus profonde EVER de Muse putain de bordel de mother fucker fuckinf fucker fucking fuck of fucking kind of fucko mother fucker fucking perfect song :'O

  • I love driving to this song at night when it's raining and something really shitty just happened to me. But I feel like I'm going to get into a car accident and die, especially around the guitar solo and the "I don't love you and I never did, I don't love you and I never will" part...so dark.

  • anybody notice that htis is the same lyrics as hyper music?????? mind==blown!!! i like this version better.

  • @TheDukeofluke1 It's the same song... I prefer Hyper Music though, not that this version isn't amazing as it is already!

  • I love this song so much, i get an eargasm everytime <3

  • great song *_____*

    MUSE , THE BEST «3

  • umm, definitely not hilarious distortions at the end, it's definitely the best thing I ever heard in an outro.

  • Comment removed

  • very end sounds hilarious xD, but it is an extremely well made song, even better with minor speed tweaking... muse is the best band of all time! and, ive noticed that their newest album, The Resistance, if you listen to the lyrics, I think Bellamy plans to overturn government and start a revolution <---just a thought, but ill support if somehow muse finds a way...

  • @SCHLOBABABER Hey, i just uploaded a rare version without these hylarious distortions at the end, (it's the video response).

  • @l12l674l496l lol thanks, the response video leaves more of the intended emotion rather than Matt just having fun with his fuzz factory. I mean, this song is still amazing, its just that i guess it sounds more happy at the end in this one, but if anyone is serious, then they would enjoy the response vid more... God bless

  • @SCHLOBABABER i think the same as you bro, i love how after the loud chorus and the massive electronic distortions only left the nude acoustic guitar to finish the song, is how if at the end it comeback to the start, it feels kinda cyclic, like the universe starting and ending again and again, yeah i know i'd sound eerie.

  • beautiful...

  • amazing song, love it

  • Does this have the same lyrics as hyper music?

  • @Scorch1494 Yes

  • @Scorch1494 Yes! ;)

  • @Scorch1494 Yes

  • I find myself continuously coming back to this video.. I just can't keep away.

  • @emhorsegal Cool story?

  • @StudioHizu Not necessarily what I would consider cool. :P

  • @emhorsegal You're cool.

  • @emhorsegal

    you are after all human.

  • I dont know why but when I first heard this song it made me cry.

    ... im so weirdd ¬_¬

  • One comment is so true.. and the other says penis. Which one should I thumbs up????

  • god this is song is so fucking awesome

  • Amazing.

  • I've added it to my favorites a long time ago, but I can't stop listening it last few days. So I removed it from favorites and added it again, so it can be on the top. Cool story bro, I know.

  • This just has album closer written all over it. It would still triumph if you stuck it after Knights of Cydonia

  • I've heard every muse song, and this one trumps them all!

I never get tired of this

  • MUSE!!!

    :D

  • muse is the best!!

  • i would love to hear this live !

  • Muse at its best.

  • amazing

  • fucking epic!

  • i genuinely never knew this existed. what a crap fan!
