Brian's guitar is a Vox. Made in Italy. They were heavy and had fat necks. Is that really Keith who sang in the youth choir at the Queen's coronation? LOL (yes he did!)
Jagger was too "whatever" to do a decent job on lip-synching. Wanted to watch this to see who played the guitar break. Turns out it was Keef. Great job on rythym by Brian. Too bad drugs killed off his creativity and his life.
i think brian jones was a good musicia maybe the best of the stones but all the stones were very importan becouse the rolling stones continue being the best band of the rock on world
Oh man! - the sound of Brian Jones's Vox teardrop guitar on the fadeout. Thraaaang!! Beautiful. My Dad bought the Decca single in '64 - later when I was learning guitar it was the one I always wanted playing. 10/10 :-)
This was , I bleeve, from that horrid Red Skelton show when Clem Kaddidllehopper went to London and fell over himself on the steps of The Albert Hall. Having to have a real brit 'beat group' natch on the show the had the Stones stand in the Foyer of the Albert hall and mime their hit......funny thing was I lived for these moments when they came on TV 9the grade 1964 and the most imporatant thing in my life.
Yes, Brian Jones had his problems but he was a very talented musician, he could learn an instrument is just a matter of minutes. I really believe it's time to let him rest in peace.
@stonegrooved yet Ketih was the better guitar player than Brian for sure, playing virtually all the leads. You can see it in this video--keith shreds the guitar.
Brian was a tiny little arrogant, aggressive, egomaniac who beat the shit out of his girlfriends, incapable of writing a song or by the end even playing his guitar, spent most of his last 3 years passed out on the studio floor or making a fucking nuisance of himself until the band literally unplugged him. Best thing he did to enhance his image was fucking dieing. He is barely a footnote in the history of RnRoll, thrived in the shallow end. Brian was nothing but a true narcissistic little wanker.
I can’t think of a better one than this for several reasons, including the rhythm guitar ATTACK by Brian Jones. With this song, he helped redefine what imaginative rhythm guitar can be. He later got the band interested in North African music, resulting in PAINT IT BLACK, the first rock "world music" track.
I like how Mick bobs his head and claps along to the music; and I've read so many unflattering things about Brian Jones, but to me he was brilliant and will always be missed !
I just listened to the original version of this song done by the Velentinos. I thought this was a Rolling Stones original, but they just took the original and made it more of a guitar driven rock song. Both versions are actually brilliant! Peace.
Charlie looks suitably bored as usual! Always looks like a grumpy geography teacher about to take 3c for another double period on a wet Monday morning!
ha ha this song makes me laugh. This song made me laugh as it reminded me of a dang broad who was bothering a guy and wouldn't leave him alone. Then the guy said enough is enough and told her "It's All Over Now" while hinting this song. She got pissed, called him a dick, and never came back. Yeah, good riddance. Thanks for the great upload. It brought back memories.
I have a Vox Mark 12, 12 string, tear drop shape guitar, bought it in 1967 at Manny's Music in NYC..
Tough to keep in tune, but it turned heads when I played Stones "Tell Me", the Marimba part in "Under My Thumb," and Byrds, "Eight Miles High."

Brian Jones was a Natural Born killer with a guitar..and He proved it on every Stones song that afforded him the window to do so..:)

Almost from the start they had that swagger, even though it became more pronounced over time. I guess when you know, you just know. The boys!

Keith played better, it's true.
But Brian was much more stylish.
A good proof are your brilliant slides.
Keith = Always gave his best for the public.
Brian = Gave only what he thought the audience Deserved.

Fantastic.
I can not understand how Braian Jones could so great a tone for a guitar.
And how could play all those instruments so brilliantly.
It is something beyond human comprehension.
Mick and Keith composed the songs, but the songs would be nothing without a hint of Brian.

I have a sunburst VOX Mark 12( 12 string guitar) I bought in 1964,
Used to play Byrds, Stones Tell Me and later Stairway.
Saw the Stones live in 1964, (was in 3rd row standing on the arms of the chairs) in the theater) and many times after that.
Those days with Brian Jones were the best.
He played the dulcimer on his lap( Lady Jane) blew 2 harps for "Not fade Away."
Too bad drugs consuned him.

All five Stones were equally important. Many don't understand that a band is just that.
Musical chemistry comes from every second changing combinations of musical personalities.
Lovely video, thanks for uploading!

Brian Jones was the major blues influence that gave the stones their edge. His chord
progressions and timing gave Keith a perfect platform for his chops.

@welcome2myhell Not saying they were'nt. Mick ,great front man , Keith great
guitar player . Both excellent song writers But Jones played Chicago blues parts
so authentically it gave all the early recordings a Chess feel , at least for me.Just
a great band.
