  • His first pole, looks like he had got pole 50 times before, simply outstanding

  • Perfect balanced car and wonderful engine sound!!

  • V10 RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They were V10s werent they? Now they're V8'S.

  • @mclarenrob2 They were, they were.

  • I hate this track because of 1994

  • turkish grand prix is shit! bring back Imola.

  • @NottinghamForest22 man i prefer abu dhabi and singapore to fuck off!!!!!

  • @FookinLiam valencia is the worst of them all.

  • @NottinghamForest22 Cannot agree with you more. To be honest, I do think Turkey's the best circuit Tilke's made, I don't mind it too much. But Valencia, Korea, Abu Dhabi, China and Singapore are sh*t! Bring back old Hockenheim, the A1 ring, Imola and Magny Cours!!!

  • @terkmadugga yep, agreed. The old tracks are way better.

  • @terkmadugga He didn't design Singapore, actually.

  • @Walldude82 He proposed the original blueprint, before another construction company made slight adjustments to it.

  • good pilot , show show show !!!

  • That V10 engine noise! Almost brings a tear to my eye; F1 died to me after the 2005 season.

  • '98-'05 will forever remain the most beautiful car design period in Formula One.

F1 has eras, and the grooved tyre era in the beginning was very promising and very exciting, but towards the end of its time it just became awful with all the restrains put on design.

'06-'08 will always be the most radical design period in F1... some very weird things were duct taped to the cars LOL

'09 onwards will be a very interesting era for the sport!

  • @Lael128 i like the cars from 1992 to 1994 cos the mclaren looked epic

  • The good old times where small teams could win a race to...

  • @ynnckynnck ...if they were called Ferrari and had Michael Schumacher as a driver.

  • Bring back the 900+HP V10 monsters on full slicks!! Then we'll see who's fastest - Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Button, or maybe Schumi?? And if he gets back in F1 Kubica! The V10's of 04-05 were the BEST F1 cars ever in my opinion. Pure speed and no DRS or KERS!! - But they should take away TC if they did bring them back!! That noise turns me on!!!

  • @frankietiddles What's about the turbo one (mclaren of 1988), or the cars with no helps from 89' to 91, they were also fast cars!

  • @from33to77 Turbo F1 cars were banned in 1989. They were insanely fast, a BMW engined F1 car is said to have had 1300BHP in qualifying trim with the boost turned up and around 1100BHP in race trim. But!! The F1 cars of the 80's did'nt have half as much down force as the V10's or the modern era therefore arn't as quick to lap a circuit. The V10's also sound so much better as they are naturally aspirated engines. The Turbo cars were alot harder to drive though as they were manual transmision

  • BRING BACK IMOLA

  • @toodsf1 Imola, Bring Senna back.

  • and soon we will have a fakin v6 engines...it will be a total disaster for formula 1

  • @donGem v6 sounds the best u gona see the turbo might mess up the sound a bit but V6 is fantastic engine like the older turing cars BMW Alfa Romeo only more rpm:)

  • Watched a few of these older F1 videos now and two things strike me: The V10s look like they eat up the straights so much easier than the current V8s; you can visibly see the lack of downforce they had then, or rather how much downforce the cars like the Red Bulls have now. Both of these points are obvious since the V10s had about 200bhp more and obviously the current crop of cars have more downforce. I'm just surprised at how visibly noticeable it is.

  • Fuah! ¡Olé los V10!

  • Unbeliveble sound

  • It's clearly a game! He's using the auto-shift assist!

    (jokes lol)

  • That lap could not have been more perfect.

  • Jenson just makes it look so easy, when of course we know that it really isn't

  • in the actual track of imola there's no more the Variante bassa, why???

  • @SOPRANO1972 if by proper you mean one of the most boring and unexciting races in the season, then yes.

  • @beebogroll not the circuits fault and you're being a biased brit.

  • @Foxx1981 how am i being biased? this circuit is plain boring, no overtaking oppertunities because the track is so thin.

  • @beebogroll Schumi and Alonso thought twice on this circuit and overtook eachother several times. Also the track has in general seen some very good fights into variante tamburello, alta and rivazza. Then again either you haven't watched enough races or... as I said: you're a biased brit.

  • @Foxx1981 as i just said, how on earth can i be biased about a CIRCUIT. you're an idiot if you believe someone can be biased about racing circuits. i personally believe silverstone is a terrible track. how does this make me biased?? because i have an opinion??

  • Sweet Sweet music.

  • Awesome sounding V10, and not ruined by the sound of constant TC!

  • we miss the legendary Honda V12 too

  • Montreal and Imola are my two favorite tracks...no question about it!

  • @cello3 Spa is my favourite.

  • @NottinghamForest22 You're absolutely right...What a nice track indeed...

  • is there any chance to see imola again? it was fast and dangerous but better then asian boring tracks.

  • This track was great before chicanes were placed in Tamburello and Villeneuve because thare was a chance for overtaking at the end of a very long straight, considernig that Tamburello was done flat out. When chicanes were added, races here became really boring. But obviously, safety is first.

  • Korea is nice layout but has enough runoff space to construct a highway out of and thats what ruins it.

  • This track is so great.. and insted we get Bahrain or Abu Dhabi.. I hate modern circuits. Korea was not bad though and i hope austin will be nice as well.

  • I was thinking to myself.. how fast would the RedBull RB6 be if it had one of the mighty 3.0l V10's in the back of it...

  • @ThunderkartKing

    was 2004, kerb:)

  • Boringest track ever. No overtaking even if you're 2-3 seconds quicker than the guy in front. Thank god it's gone. Now get rid of barcelona and valencia and add some bearable tracks.

  • What an engine! Japanese Kamikaze screams! Damn THIS is scaring! THIS gave me goosepumpels... not these shitty V8-Engines ....

  • Don't they drive at Imola San Marino GP anymore? If not, then why?

  • @killyeahk Money i think is the prime reason

  • 2013: 1.4l 4-cylinder engines. "Jeej!"

  • i went to the montreal GP in 2004 and i remember that the honda V10 was significantly louder than everyone else's lol. sure enough it was also the most powerful that year.

  • Bring back;

    Imola

    Indy

A1 Ring (I know it's not as good as the Osterreichring, but it was a beautiful circuit)

    Mangy-cours

    Kyalami

All these crappy asian circuits make for boring races.

  • The sound!!!! Oh how i miss it!

  • This is season 2004 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man the V10 sounds amazing.

My farts sound better than the V8.

Oh and bring back Imola instead of these shitty new Asian circuits or Valencia.

  • enormes los V10 :D

  • @LeeClaxton your a douche :L

  • Look this driving and look a Senna onboard video... This car is so fast, but it does not let see who is the vest driver...

  • Honda must've felt screwed over, finally having a strong v10 and then rule changes. Had to make a whole new engine and once again they were somewhere in the middle in '05.

  • @shivex I think this car could have had a chance of taking the championships, if Ferrari weren't as freakin' dominating

  • @shivex What do you mean? As far as I remember, there were no engine rule changes from '04 to '05?

  • Excellent lap.

  • beautiful v10 and Jenson drives so smoothly!

  • I'm hear that at the hungaroring...this is the loudest of all!!!

  • why did they stop using this circuit, the last two races there were great

  • @tornadoGT01

No they weren't, they were borefests.

No overtaking whatsoever! Despite Schumi being 2 seconds quicker than Alonso in 05 he still couldn't overtake him, same with Alonso on Schumi in 2006!

This track will not be missed.

  • @Anime998877 thats your opinion

  • @tornadoGT01

No it isn't, it's a known fact that imola races have been almost as bad as barcelona races in the past decade.

  • @Anime998877 no race can even get close to how bad barcelona is, apart from valencia, anyway i liked the races at imola because they were close

  • ive never heard of a v7. seems like it would be an unbalanced engine

  • my favourite driver on my favourite track with legend V10 ooo that is F1 not this today

    J.B.

    :D

  • the sound of the engine is amazing!just fantastic.if you go on the sounds of the f1 cars onboard today, the engine does not sound as fantastic as this.

  • it was a cool car! and san marino is the best!

  • i love this track!

  • amazing sound......just AMAZING

  • Michael Schumacher is the master at Imola.

  • i miss the sound of v10!!!!!

  • @wizkid01 obviously you weren't around to hear the Ferrari V12 in 1994-5. There is nothing legendary about these V10s in comparison

  • @ilferrari been watching f1 since 1989 - so i think i been around.

  • V10... The legendary Honda V10....

  • @GTAstuntz music to the ears!

  • What a bumpy, little track ^^

  • what lap time did he do??

  • Imola (autodromo enzo e dino ferrari) is also my favourite track. It resembles the old style race tracks like Spa or the old Nurburgring. OK it wasn't very common with overtakings, but the setting is beautiful and the layout was simply fantastic. Like a roller coaster!

  • bring back v10:(

  • I love this track

  • i was in Rivazza this saturday. jenson rules OK!

  • Comment removed

  • Perfectly set up car.. jenson was pushing like hell but still not a single correction in that lap .. amazing

  • You just don't get circuits with this kind of flow anymore...

  • Still have Monza :D

  • You have Spa!!!

  • You have Silverstone

  • Cracking lap...cracking circuit.

  • The f1 v10 era, I love it! May have been boring races but these engines really scream.

  • the races were far better. they had something called overtaking.

  • What a great lap by Button...

  • Think before you say something... the illegal car was in 2005!!!!! And that's the second time I have to say this...

  • Tebacka01, when you say Valencia and Singapore is a 'shitty track', do u mean it's great or it's plain 'shitty'? lols.

  • There is so much downforce. All the guy has to do is slightly kiss the apex with his tire and he is through the corner. It looks almost effortless. It is quite a contrast to today, with the loss of a lot of the driver aids these guys have to work.

  • still more physical than today..

  • THIS is an F1 circuit & THIS is an F1 engine

  • omg listen to the beautiful honda! wasnt the best but it sure had the best sound :)

  • yeah! it breaks your eardrums!

Honda has always been the most exicting engine sound in F1..

  • better than everyone apart from Ferrari in '04

  • The best things come to those who wait....

  • my favourite circuit is Magny Cours...

  • Fastest f1 we'll see for a long time.

  • best sounding F1 car from the past 10 years. Easy.

  • my favourite curcuit is monza

  • The smoothest driver on the circuit, has the talent but not the car. Although this year... perhaps he will get the chance he deserves! Go Jense go!

  • he has two wins and a 3rd place. he's getting his chance haha.

  • Agreed! Let's hope Brawn GP manage to keep up their good start! :D

  • yeah that´s to baad and also they are slowlier , that´s crap

  • the awsome sound of a v10, the v8 just dont sound the same.

  • yeah man , I love the Honda engine too, especially when they change the gears, it was fucking amazing how it pounded. But honestly, the Ferrari engine, in my opinion sounded the best when I was at the race. They have such a special sound, it was awesome.

  • like kittens? lol , ofcourse the v10's had a better sound , but in real life those v8's still sound fantastic

  • The engines sound like little kittens now compared to the lion roar of this one! A BEAUTIFUL bit of driving by JB!

  • man, so honda was a good team, and now theyre really gone. no good for the f1.

  • Very little traction control at work there.

I hope JB can find a drive next season. He deserves to be on the grid.

  • Jenson Button is one of the smoothest drivers on the grid (although that "is" is slowly starting to look like "was", at least as far as '09 is concerned).

  • well now it IS again! :)

  • yeah deffo hope he does, jb rarely did use much traction control, good driver

  • What a sound! 5 stars for that alone! Great post, thanks

  • Looks a great lap by Jense. Imola is ap iece of hsit though. I know a lot of people are unhappy with Herman Tilke's new drives through the desert but Imola was a boring procession and remained on the calendar for far too long.

Until the revelatons of Max's private life I'd wondered how Budapest had reamined on F1's calendar.

  • A lot of track by H. Tyke haves the same design and it is boring, but the design of the track of the turkish GP is very funny and new the relief is essential like at laguna seca, Suzuka, Spa or the old nurburgring and Imola of course.

Budapest is a boring prossession, more than San Marino !

  • Turkey doesn't make up for the job he did on the hockenhiem revamp.

  • Funniest thing is that Tilke can't even design an entertaining street circuit. Both Valencia and Singapore are shitty tracks but valuable for F1 and Bernie.

  • Part of his designs are limited to what the FIA's circuit regulations allow him to create.

I'm sure he could create something beautiful without the rules he is given.

  • why the hell does the FIA have such stupid rules? like limitations to track design?

  • No idea, but it's part of the reason why Eau Rouge was made straighter and the Bus Stop chicane was edited. (The old one was apparently deemed 'dangerous' because of the exit cornering speeds).

  • that was amazing for a honda

  • Obiouvsly, the Honda race history is unknow of you !

Honda was unbeatable during a long long time with 3.5 atmo, 1.5 turbo.

85-91 Honda is world champion of constructor

86-91 Drivers are world champions with Honda engines.

    15 victory on 16 GP in 1988...

Now , the news rules are bullshit, no research about engine, single electronic control unit for everybody.

formula one is dead. Honda is the most titled of all the constructor. The gearbox in this vid the most faster in the world.

  • i agree with everything you say, apart from that standard ECU is bad.. i think that introducing standard parts to things that should be exactly the same between the cars is a great way to reduce costs in F1! Although standardised equipment isnt the spirit of F1 in the current economic climate sneaking things like standard ECUs etc will provide cost-effective equipment that won't hamper the racing!

  • beautiful

  • Tres bien.

    5*****

  • Je vois que tu apprécie les jolies choses !

Bien le bonjour de Jagdpanther !

  • I can't remember but wasn't this the car that BAR cheated with for that race?

  • Again... no. that was not in 2004... that was in 2005 or 2006

  • 05'

  • 05 I was there

  • No, the cheat thingy happened in 2005

  • @dietrichian The race that he drived an underweight was in 2005.

  • @dietrichian best engine on the field, perfect lap, best tires, and you are quibbling about ounces of fuel? really?

  • Supreme

  • Button has been in the game for years. He's known as the smoothest driver in the paddock. But smooth is simply not enough! Senna, Schumacher, Kubica, Hamilton push their cars to the ragged edge! That's how they have a consistent feel for the limit! it adds up to a few tenths in each corner! that adds up to alot over a lap!..

  • Super fast lap from Jenson there. I really miss Imola, i hope it'll get put back on the champiship calender some day.

  • i have a pretty big collection of onboard laps and i find this to be one of if not the best one, thanks to the honda engine :). it was a fucking beast; at GPs it was clearly louder than everyone else's.

  • The Honda gearbox is the most fast of all the team, always today. the first with a construction in all carbon fiber.

  • actually, mclaren had the first, but it didnt work too well.

  • its funny how the hell do they know what to do at those speeds!

also, is it true he is meant to eb the best f1 driver - but just has a crap car?

  • Well yes, he should be a world champion by now, if not have 2 in his pocket, just so unlucky and has a shit car, hes better than hamilton and most drivers in the field in my opinion

  • He struggled to win 1 race, but yes, he has a shit car.

Along with Webber, he is the most underrated driver in F1.

  • I agree, if Webber got his hands on a Ferrari he would be getting quite a few podium finish's each season... Webber has qualified 1st several times in an inferior car.

  • the 3.0 l HONDA 2004 is a very good engine, may be the best of the V10 honda of the new generation 2000-2007.

  • unfortunately their v8 is aweful

  • For me the problem is in the aerodinamic work of the car.

The problem of the RA 00 108.

It is a fact, since 2005, they have some problems to masterised the aero factor.

They have actually 5 wind tunnels at work !!!! For resolv the problem and advance.

I hope for a nice season for us the next year, like at the golden age.

  • GOGO its very good, yea fantastic sound! AWSOME!

  • car number 9 indicates it must be 2004 anyways.. jenson had car number 3 in 05

  • MMMMMmmmmmm V10's and dirty sounding gear changes, is there anything that sounds better....

  • And the cars more spectacular with V10 than V8. In my opinion.

  • nope 2004, this is where he got pole but schumacher beat him in race

  • 2004 io c'ero!
