  • Nice to see some of Willamette's improvements on this engine.

  • have a look at the romney, hythe and dymchurch railway...15" main line going 25mph over 14 miles!

  • nice whistle

  • Outstanding. Must be close to the experience of running a full size Shay. The roller bearings are an excellent addition.

  • Very Nice!!!

  • Geared locos really are best for visiting other tracks. You can swap out the trucks and run on ther guages.

  • Sierra... I am moving and cannot take it with me. I will miss the beast. But another is in the works...

    Grumps

  • You shouldn't have sold her. what reason did you have for selling her?

  • Due to the mods, how much can it pull?

  • So its basically today's version of a Shay instead of a true Shay? Still a nice engine :3

  • @adfgfds If Lima was still making Shays, they'd probably have just as many roller bearings on the real thing...as many main line locomotives had during the last days of superpower steam in the 1930s and 1940s. And yes if you wanted to get picky, the #1 cylinder should be facing the other way as Jeff says. But otherwise it's like a prototype shay in every respect.

  • @CaptainHarlock999

Well...I wasn't trying to be rude or picky. I'm sorry if I came off that way. I meant mostly due to all the roller bearings, its not exactly a true shay.

But I still like the locomotive!

  • @adfgfds No offense taken. :)

  • @adfgfds Actually, we still have big Shays around, today. There's some at Roaring Camp Railroad and the Norfolk & Western Railroad.

  • @Dinosorable

Yes I'm very aware of that. Check out my other videos lol

  • @adfgfds OK. :)

  • super
