@chapinlest Well, first of all I wasn't "rough". Secondly, it was you who brought up age, so if it's "not about age", why did you bother? And experience is always a key element in respecting a performer; there's a huge difference between a newbie with 1 year experience playing at home and school, and a pro with 25 years of playing with orchestras all over the world. Finally, the reason he's moving is because he's throwing himself into the piece, making it emotional, rather a dry, dull rehearsal.

So great. Whenever I hear Bach's cello suites, I want to learn cello, but I play violin. Oh, I wish I could have a good cello too!! I bought a cheapo one at $499 and it ended up being a big, space taking piece of junk that ended up hurting my hand when I tried to play it >.< coz the bridge was way high and I didn't know a thing about cello then. Anyone know a good cello brand at 800 to 1,000 that comes with professional set up on the internet? thanks hehe : ) price limit 2,000
@DesiFuyuko i had a high bridge problem and had the bridge sandpapered down by a professional luthier. i bought a better bow made a world of difference to my student cello. even a little thing like a good brand of rosin helps. why dont you try getting the bridge corrected first.
@bachsxoxogirl Yeah the bridge was hish and the fingerboard low. Still the fingerboard is low, but with lower birdge it feels better. Also, I found out the bow it came with is fake hair, and it makes it harder to grip the strings or something I hear. I'm going to change this things and see ^ ^
@DesiFuyuko Did you know they translated the music into a violin version? Though I think this is best played on a cello with it's beautiful warm tones- but if you want to play it on the violin you can :)

Is he in a real ancient room? Because in each Cello suite, hi is on the same wooden platform, but a diffrent room, unless he just brings a piece of wood around to greece and itally and rome, I think that that is a green screen.

I'm currently a senior in high school who plays the (French horn)horn and I recently learned to play this and it has become one of my favorite pieces to play. :) I just think it's so awesome how my horn and his cello can play the same piece but both instruments make it sound so beautiful in their own ways.
I have played the cello (broke the cycle) since second grade and I am now a freshman in high school. I actually have to play this in class tomorrow. Listening to this has helped me fine tune my overall tonal quality and articulation. He perfectly presents and shows the characteristics the Baroque Era as a whole.

@Selesify i play both! but i prefer the cello. people say that playing the piano gives you loads of oppertunities, and i guess it does, i play in a band with piano. but i love my cello, and its about how you play it, and how you feel about playing it, about your emotions. x

I have to play this piece in February :) it's very fun to play and very beautiful, but I am by no means anywhere near as good as him ^ Oh well!

this fool has no idea of what bach's music is. he plays only the surface... he is trapped by his technique... but in the modern classical world he is pretty good, but this is not bach, it is an ignorant fool with good rhythm and technique..would bach write such boring music' no way

@3677peter do you really think that everyone has extreme depth while playing? by the look on his face, looks like he is pretty into it. modern conservatorium players are usually 'trapped on the surface', however they still try and break that barrier. So before you go and call him a fool, think about it einstein

@renski1792 I went from piano to cello. It's really not that hard to pick up, so long as you have prior musical knowledge.

@Selesify i play both! but i prefer the cello. people say that playing the piano gives you loads of oppertunities, and i guess it does, i play in a band with piano. but i love my cello, and its about how you play it, and how you feel about playing it, about your emotions. x

@renski1792 So do I, but I'm a violinist :) I've managed to play the first cello suite after scouring the internet, and this bourre is in the third suzuki book :D So I'm happy, but I'm definitely going to learn the cello some day. And then because of that I'll now the treble and bass cleff so I won't have trouble with the piano. l

@cutehippy16 maybe this guy wants to play the viola :p doing your best with what you have is what makes you perform great. if you don't you'll feel insecure on stage. I played the violin for 4 years, then flute and viola for 1-1/2 years. and I taught myself piano during summer. my result: i'm not great at either one, except the violin. I've wanted to try the oboe and the cello, just for fun, but i really hope to get back with violin and flute. have a good day :)
