This game reminds me of the combat mode from Advance Wars: Dual Strike and the level editor reminds of the level editor from the advance wars games.

Maybe the creators of the Advance Wars games got some ideas from this game.

This game had a map editor on the NES version.

You could make your own levels and maps, and design it however you want, with different terrain and stuff.

this game was truly ahead of its time now that I look back.
