  • Even though you are probably a millionare, I bet you wish you had my 2001 custom shop "nocaster" It is an awesome guitar, but sorry it's not for sale. Love you Edge, more than you could imagine. You have inspired me in so many ways. Thanks, Jeff, in North Carolina.

  • The same could be said for a lot of electric guitars. The Les Paul, the Stratocaster, the SG, etc...

  • well Bonamassa's opinion on Telly it's a bit more... Practice... :D

  • took u awhile to mention Leos name , but you finality got there...

lets remember its the man behind the guitar...

the tele didnt just pop up out of no where..

Leo designed it and built it...

    Thanks Leo.

  • People diss The Edge because they're jealous. Simple as.

  • God, I hate this douche bag.

  • @Maafa1619 you are the fucken douche bag, you're also the piece of cloth i wiped my dick with after fucking your mom, trololol lolo lol

  • @Whatastic My mom??? What are you, 12?

Run along and fuck yourself, little boy.

  • @Maafa1619 somehow you think i'm 12, your mom must be notorius for being with 12 yr olds

  • Morello the epitome of relying on guitar effects? there are bigger effect whores than morello, his pedalboard is not even that big. He doesn't even really have any business being discussed here. Bottom line is just because Edge and other players are into effects, it does not mean they can't play. It's great that they can add a distinct sound to their music.

  • @MrPink793 If I recall, Morello has 4 effects. One of which he doesn't use all that much. That makes him that much more amazing.

  • Hey Twongler you obviously can't think. You shouldn't call yourself a thinker.

  • for all of you that love to bash from a computer - whatever losers. edge has a very specific style of playing and writing- its not necessarily everyone's favorite - im not a huge fan to his style but give credit where its deserved. he's reinvented a sound that is unmistakeably "The Edge" whether he can play or not - he's doing a hell of a lot better than you ever could be.

  • It annoys the hell out of me how people diss the Edge for being only an effects guy yet they go crazy for Tom Morello who is the epitome of relying on guitar effects. Whenever I hear an audioslave or RATM song, i'm just waiting for the stupid and completely unnecessary noise to kick in... Oh tapping the pickup with a pencil whilst using delay !! That really serves the mood of the song.

  • @KotowTV i don't like the Edge or Tom Morello either.

  • @RandomStevie then don't fucking watch it

  • @KotowTV

I woudl be a happy, happy man if neither U2 nor Rage Against The Machine had ever existed. Or indeed if the suddenly caught fire and died horribly and screaming.

Why is that old man wearing that STUPID hat indoors? Indeed, why is he wearing that stupid hat at all? He should get himself a suit and a nice homberg.

  • @llanbo u suck

  • @vaccinium73

Possibly, but at least I dress well.

  • @KotowTV I consider both Morello and The Edge excellent musicians, both guys suit the brand of music they play. I hate U2 though self-indulgent twats but no doubt The Edge is a fine musician. Morello is the RATM sound, everything he plays has a purpose.

  • Telecaster + Les Paul. Best two guitars ever imo.

  • The Edge is a far superior guitarist to Jack White. " It Might Get Loud " MORE than confirms this. I was cringing every time Jack was 'playing'.

  • @KotowTV I loooved that documentary, and really walked away with more of a respect for all 3 guitarists. Jack White was more the unknown, but I latched on to more than I was expecting to with him. Crazy what ends up inspiring you. And yes everyone stop bashing people like a jealous coward. They're all famous for some reason and you're obviously not.

  • This man can not play the guitar. He is not entitled to call himself "a guitar player".

  • @twongler he have a style, its not everything about classic man.

  • @twongler He's enough of a guitar player to be in "It Might Get Loud" next to Jack White and Jimmy Page. Plus U2 is one of the biggest bands in the world. Whether he can or can not play, he's doin' better than you are. So quit bitching.

  • @JordnBee - The Edge was only in that movie because Stevie Ray Vaughn and Kurt Cobain are dead.

  • @johnnytastetest T_T He's a guitarist, and he's created his own style. Like I said before, he's doing well, so who the hell cares. When you're as successful as he is, then you can judge.

  • @twongler And who are you to say that?

  • For starters, that's not an original Telecaster. The dual humbuckers were a concession to the popularity of the Gibson sound back in the 70's, when you could get a real plain vanilla Tele for under $200 while a Les Paul went for nearly a grand. But, the trademark sound of the Tele is gone when you lose the original pickups. And it wouldn't mean anything to the Edge since his sound is purely effects driven, which is probably why he doesn't play anything here.

  • Edge doing a Fender advert?frown...

Allot digs the guy takes for his hat and playing,it's all silly. He plays music and his primary instrument is guitar, very textured but often organic sounding, you know him when you hear him. He's no Ritchie Blackmore but so what,we also need an Edge.He creates wonderful sounds and he doesn't bore us with blues or shredding.

  • The edge hasn't a clue LOL

  • "me as a guitar player"? Pedal player more like...

  • @DrinkThunderbird watch it might get loud. he has fuckloads of guitars

  • i thought he would play something, blah blah...

  • Love my Tele!

  • @DrinkThunderbird Research.

  • I like Edge, not U2... but Edge seems.... Smarter then the rest.

  • @Fuzzlike11 *than the rest. A bit ironic you insult their intelligence with bad grammar eh?

  • @Fuzzlike11 You, however, seem like an idiot for not knowing the difference between "then" and than.

  • It wasn't the first readily available electric. Perhaps the first solid body electric, but none else.

  • This reminds me of a video I saw where Michael Jackson was presented with an accoustic guitar and clearly didn't know what to do with it. But The edge is a step up from MJ. The edge knows how to hold the guitar. Well done edge.

MJ scores 0 out of 10

Mr edge, 0.1 out of 10

Victory is yours Edgy! You tedious fuck!

  • @onesong2001 Ah, Youtube, where all the people with nothing to add, add it.

  • Is this Edge talking about a Telecaster whilst holding a Strat?.... Or is that some wacky edition Tele?.

  • @Forgottenimpuls

think its a 70's telecaster deluxe…. in a slightly used condition...

  • @MrElliottThomas So it is.... Thanks for clearing that up for me. ;)

  • @Forgottenimpuls Tele deluxe.

  • right, we got it, "edge". who isn't a fan of the the telecaster?!!!! why don't you quit your yammering and play a few riffs?!

  • wonder how much fender paid him for this

  • is that hat glued to his head? ;)

  • @watkinscopicat Ssshhhh, I'm being chastised down here for slagging him on having it on all day and night.

  • i like the edge.. but i hope thats a relic'd guitar.. otherwise he needs to wash his hands a bit more often.

  • i dont have any u2 ( stuff ) come out nwo or not

  • *yawn* Yeah, the Tele is a great axe, but this video is soooo boring

  • You could say that dozens of guitars made a huge impact on music, not just the Telecaster. SG,Les Paul,Stratocaster just to name a few.

  • @OneFifthNative ahahaha. thats called midlife crisis ;D

  • The thing about telecasters for me is that they feel more like a tool, where most Gibson guitars and a few other Fenders feel like an extension of me.

    Just my opinion.

  • go talk to uncle Keith if you want an opinion on a telecaster or if you wanna hear a rock n' roll story... B) this guy makes me yawn.

  • @calicdusan HEAR HEAR!!!! Have you seen his on-stage effects rig? It's about 15 feet by 6 feet. Utterly ridiculous. One night the power cut out and all he was heard to be actually playing was "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the E string.

  • @OneFifthNative hahahha. i totally believe you. i mean. i respect the guy and all, he did make an impact on music for a fact. but... i have to say it. fuck him. he's just too... something... don't know... yawn-maker.

  • @calicdusan I think he's being 80% genuine but I honestly believe the fact that he feels he was to wear a hat ALL the time just 'cos he's gone bald - he wants to cling onto an old image - which is so false and phony - stops the flow, I mean, he much be thinking "I can't let all my fans think I'm not getting old because they mightn't buy my records" .. what else is it? JUST SHAVE THE HEAD AND STOP PRETENDING TO BE SOME TEENY POP SENSATION. And punch Bonehead every time he wears those glasses.

  • @OneFifthNative if you dont know why bono wears those glasses then shut your mouth up please.he wears these glasses because red light is doing damage to his eyes.it happens to many blue-eyed people.as for Edge whats your problem about his hat?he is not pretending to be a teeny pop sensation he might not want people think he is bald...

  • @Nicos2597 He wears those glasses because of radio frequencies from the planet ego. The Edge is bald, everyone knows it. He keeps the hat on because he want to appear like a younger person. Cop on.

  • @OneFifthNative are you bald or going bald? if not the you have no idea so shut the fuck up and let him wear a hat if he wants to.

  • @steve1287 Yeah! I'm going bald and I don't know what to do..the comb over,a number1, a Dave Crosby or a hat. The Edge chooses a hat

  • @steve1287 What's that got to do with being a pop star afraid to show his real head? I have a lovely curly head full of hair but if I was bald like him I would probably get a #1 and be myself instead of acting like a 70's school teacher with a three foot long comb-over. Look, if you love him go and confess it to him. Don't start moaning and crying to me. I'M JUST WORDS ON THE SCREEEEEN.

  • @OneFifthNative ahh just another naive hater. See you're here trying to put him down because he is so popular and successful. From which i can only deduce that you are not successful and therefore need to call out someone famous to gain attention

  • @tweiseman Amazing insight there Sherlock. There must be a career for you in deducing some kind of a something somewhere or other. Let's go over it again.. He's a bald man in his 50's in a pop group who is never ever ever ever ever ever ever seen either in photos or in public without a warm hat on, whether he is in 105F heat or not. Let's call pretension pretension and save the limp-wristed cheerleading to the teen girls.

  • @OneFifthNative stfu!!!

  • @jefferymoffitt Put your fingers in your ears and whistle.

  • @OneFifthNative theres loads of photos showing edge without a hat on, he has turned up to premiers and huge events without a hat on

  • @spidernatclip then give us the link .. let us behold his shiny top.

  • @spidernatclip I found some, which only makes it all the more sinister that he doesn't go bald on TV, Stage or Video. Eh?

  • @OneFifthNative Sinister? He's not some guy plotting to destroy the world.

  • @spidernatclip You haven't heard? He keeps a secret Iranian spy underneath that hat. Why else would he be wearing it all the time?

  • @OneFifthNative Rofl

  • Sooo... The Telecaster made "Vertigo"? Hmmm. I love The Edge, but "Vertigo" is not the song I'd want to inspire. Still yet to get myself a Telecaster, and he's not selling me with that little anecdote. ;P

  • @muzboz I agree with you on that "Vertigo" may not be the best song from U2, but still the Telecaster is such a lovable guitar. I have one and I couldn't be happier.

  • @muzboz I think Vertigo lacks a good hook. In fact it's not much better than a college band song. Of course a real U2 fan couldn't actually come to that conclusion on their own. Takes courage to leave the secure warmth of hypnosis.

  • Why make a signature guitar? Edge's sound is based on his effects.

  • Fender guitars.....Not a speck of illegal wood lol...

  • jeez..look at the fretboard on it..

  • He's playing a TeleStrator.

  • Why can't he talk properly? He's so stunted.

  • @TylerWhocott you're an idiot

  • 1:50 wasn't he allowed to meantion the gibson explorer?

  • @plectrum94 He mentioned it..."other guitars"...that's how I refer to my gibson's...

  • The reason there won't be a signature model is because he is famous for his Gibson Explorer and not a fender, the blacked out strat he uses looks just like David Gilmours, so why would they want to release another all black strat...they wouldn't.

  • Pena que eu não entendo porra nenhuma do que ele está falando.

Ele deveria tocar e não falar!!!

  • talk too much

  • his tele needs a good clean

  • @louisalive Nonsense, that's character right there.

  • @JordnBee I'm fucking about, it looks awesome

  • @louisalive :P Yea I figured, there's no such thing as a bad looking tele.

  • There never will be one because the edge only uses old instruments but I agree there should be one.

  • @Templar7832 He don't only play old instruments?

  • @MrOXSX Er he does because I've seen an interview with Dallas Schoo who said he only uses vintage instruments. Theonly thing he has that's new is a Line 6 thing which he uses for "The Fly" Look up Dallas Schoo interview on youtube if you don't believe me.

  • the amount of times his name has confused me in a sentence and not realising its the person their talking about and not the word.

  • I love his accent

  • I LOVE GETTING OLD!!!! If not the Telecaster, Stratocaster or Les Paul (or SG etc.) it would have been something else. That unfortunately, is reality.

  • So he just talked the whole time, and we never got to hear him play it?!!

  • it was originally called the "broadcaster" but CBS had the rights to that name at the time

  • @panamajack612 incorrect it was originally called the "broadcaster" however Gretsch had a drumkit out by the same name and forced fender to discontinue the use of the name which is when they moved to the "nocaster" and finally the "telecaster"... unless CBS owned Gretsch in which case Im a retard

  • @henryshomebrew Gretsch's drumkit was called the 'broadkaster' so it was just because it sounded similar but thanks to that infamous change we can get our hands on those elusive 'nocasters' which are just so damn good!

  • @jjmassey2906 Aha thank you for the enlightenment... cheers

    Henry

  • Hey Dallas, Hey Edge !!

Still want to get you guys over to see and learn some cool things from Thomas.

Been waiting patiently, faithfully for well over a year!

I've been playing a Tele for the last 14 years. ;-) Love at ya!

Hope to see you soon. Aaron

  • most overrated guitarist EVER

  • @warprodigis ....agreed

  • tele?...keith richards.

  • @clfetter Keith richards was too high to do an interview for Fender

  • Stratocasters and "other" guitars, that's funny!

  • i love teles, strange to see edge not holding one??

  • @strabbs1 he is holding a 72-style telecaster, which has a strat neck and unique pickups. it is still a telecaster at heart.

  • hair removed from back of hands

  • @fendermusical talk to jimmy page about the tele!

  • That's a strat headstock..

  • @jeropage95 tele's had them aswell for a period

  • @jeropage95 it's a tele deluxe headstock. it says telecaster on it.

  • @jeropage95 Yes it is. That's quite common, on a 72 deluxe Tele and some others.

  • @DJBunnit of course he is, just look at the head on him

  • @georgefuzzums hahaahaha nice2x

  • Edge's words appeared measured as he thanked Leo,"the designers" and builders of the guitar...seems he skillfully dodged endorsing Fender as a corporation.A sign of some integrity?

I always liked Edge's playing, allot actually, and Fender guitars too but I separate my appreciation for those things from the excessive price tags/IE Fender's greed and non inventive nature of that corporation.

The smaller builders do it better and for less without the slave labor.

  • @spentonmediocrity The smaller builders are only copying the design that Leo Fender (and Fender Corp) created...not a creative bunch imho.

  • @spentonmediocrity alright so obviously the biggest guitar brands are gibson and fender, look at ibanez, almost all of their guitars look like fenders, and some look like gibsons, and the reason its higher priced its not cause of greed, its cause supply and demand, and also the resources they have that others dont, the more expensive the parts are, the more the guitar is gonna cost

  • what happened to his accent ? I always taught he waz oyrish

  • @Dogslow He's Welsh.

  • @Dogslow don't listen to that twat, he's irish

  • Fender Telcaster 72 Deluxe

  • The real Tele sound is in Bad (studio version)...this is a magnificent use of a Tele...Tele+chorus+ delay....

  • @skyany89 sound in bad is strat

  • What kind of guitar is he holding? Looks like a strat headstock but I can't make out the rest.

  • @smssatts I THINK it's a Telecaster Deluxe of some sort because of the big 70s headstock and humbuckers. Hope that helps :)

  • @smssatts Looks like a '72 Deluxe Tele.

  • @smssatts

    He's holding a Telecaster.... duh

  • it's really cool to look at an artist tribute guitar, but you feel like a poser playing one.

  • FOR THE LOVE. DO A SIGNATURE EDGE GUITAR!!!

  • @ZachDRUMMOND with integrated pedals?
