Ok, so I really cant find out how to see the cursor, everytime I go to draw i dont know where my cursor is. In this example you have a cross... for me i have nothing, it has seemed to disappear.
I'm excited to check this out since Corel Painter is so damn expensive. I'll have it tomorrow. I picked up a budget pen tablet, but I think I need to borrow my buddies Wacom Bamboo to compare. Then maybe I'll return the one I got and pick one of those up.
Okay So no matter what I do I can't get any drawings to show up, I can draw but nothing shows up on the canvas, only on the layer thumbnails, all layers are checked as on so I dont know what is up... I also cant seem to find the Navigation toolbar no matter what I do...
why when we go to create new brush, in the 2011 version doenst let you adjust the slant of the brush? it did in 2010 .. :(( if the feature exist somewhere else, can someone answer? tks
@HeatherFeather141 All of this can be done in free software all you need is MyPaint , and Alchemy ... Plus MyPaint has way more brushes , and Alchemy has more options than just mirror.
My freind is telling me that this is a waste of money to buy this instead of photohop. I show her this video with cool features photoshop dosen't have like the Symmetrical Drawing tool. She says that you can just copy+paste and flip it. I'm not gonna take her advice :/
Hello i would like to become a Graphic Designer... But I Dont Know What The difference is to Photoshop CS5.1 To this program Sketch Book Pro 2011... Could you or someone tell me?
To be honest you should do some research on Autodesk Sketchbook, and Adobe Photoshop. If you really want to become a graphic designer you need a sketch/drawing tablet, and the software, Photoshop is in between both making drawings/sketches and editing pictures. While sketchbook is pacifically for all drawing. That's basically all I can say. Also, sketch book and photoshop are two different softwares, you might get comfortable with one faster than the other.
Well right now I'm just experimenting, because I got this software for free full, legally. If your a student in college or high school you might be able to sign up as a student on students(dot)autodesk(dot)com and you can choose from I think 36 programs by autocad. I've tried photoshop and it's nice too, but sketchbook pro seems like it will be more my style, (Sketching). So you might want to try this if your a student in college or highschool. Also maybe photoshop from a friend.
I need to buy this...the symmetry thing would REALLy come in handy when drawing Manga...and I could draw a funny Kiddo-Kun comic where he freaks out over that function XD
@a62010 There's 2 small buttons inside the lagoon (bottom left) hit them to pull up the brush and color editor. If you have the editor open, but can't see the color wheel, there is a small arrow at the top of the editor. That should expose the wheel.
@SketchBookPro thanks u . i clicked on those two buttons they do expose both but the color wheel is not the one that is in all the tutorials, it's the standard MAC one that opens in all softwares if u get what I mean? The one I see in tutorials looks diff. also please can u tell me how to delete old swatches?
@SketchBookPro so im getting the wacom bamboo capture tablet for christmas *already brought from my aunt and uncles town since they live in a larger place than me* and im looking forward to useing this,is it pretty easy to use?because im 10 and i need it to be :P
@SketchBookPro I'm having the same problem, there's nowhere I can figure out to find the color wheel/picker as shown in the video. All I get is the basic color wheel. Any help?
@EvilGiraffe22 Directly beneath the "current tool" icon there is a small dot, if you click on that it will open your color wheel/picker. Within that window there are arrows you can use to expand/retract the "custom colors" pane.
@lastofthe13sons Thank you so much for your response! However I still really don't understand. :( I can get to the color wheel just fine, the dot under "current tool" is "current color" and, as you said, opens it. But either I don't have the correct version or am being a complete idiot, because I don't see anywhere within the color editor the arrows to open what you call the "custom colors pane." Is it maybe a preference I have turned off?
@EvilGiraffe22 hmmm, I always had the picker as a default and the arrow to show/hide the custom color pane even when I was using sketchbook pro 2010. Try this, on the menu bar, click "Window" and then "toolbar" on the toolbar, the color ring is on the far right. Maybe accessing it from that toolbar will give you the option to get the custom colors pane. Also you should update to service pack 2 and/or the copic edition.
These are nice videos but I really learn better with actual narration. The music actually makes it harder for me to keep focused on what you are showing.
@AnimalXing Alt is the hotkey for bringing up the eyedropper. It is also in the color editor... The magnifying glass beside the color swatch. Hope that helps.
Bought this in the Mac app store and really love it, but I just wish there was a tutorial book available since I am pretty much on my own trying to figure out how some of the program functions work.
So I'm looking into buying the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2011 Upgrade from Amazon, but I was wondering because of the price difference, and "Upgrade" do I need an older version? Is it just like more content that you can add to the previous model? Would appreciate a reply. Thank you. :)
@KassandraRamodit yes, if you do purchase an upgrade, you need an older version of the software in your system, or else it will not work. I just received my autodesk pro 2011 today, and it is well worth the $.
Is there a way to scan images straight into the program?

How are you changing the pencil width/hardness on the fly at :58?
IsaiahLaMichael 2 months ago
@IsaiahLaMichael He isn't, sketchbook pro supports pen pressure, all he is doing is pressing harder on the stylus and the line thickens accordingly.

I am interested if you can draw without needing to press mouse buttons, I mean use a trackpad as an iPhone or iPod screen to draw (just to touch?)

Do you need to do set anything so that the pressuring of your tablet can work on this program? My lines are pretty flat. :C
