  • Colonel Van T. Barfoot RIP

  • fuck ya man !

  • while i respect the spirit of this song and those who suffered serving in military forces, it is in fact a colonized mentality that chooses to serve in the armed forces of states that carried out genocidal wars against Indigenous peoples. much more respect for those warriors who today confront those colonial states and, at times, their military and police forces. Defend your people, territory, and way of life: don't serve in the military of the oppressor.

  • @48zigzag hahaha sayings of a man i'm guessing who never served or too scared! i dont see anyone opposing any colonial states! haha the only ppl i see doing that are veterans most of the time.

  • @chaanmaii your assumptions mark you as a fool. yes some of those involved in opposing colonial states are former military (such as myself) and tend to do so once they get their heads out of their army asses. veterans helped in the defense of wounded knee and oka, etc, but so too did a lot of warriors without military indoctrination.

  • Amazing video very heart felt I love the song it is often one i request at powwows for my father

  • i play this song often altho im not native american or even close to that. i love this music..

  • My dad loved this song. he was a vietnam vet, we sang this at his funeral in 2000, RIP jimmy decoteau.

  • I'm a northern cree out of Saskatchewan and I remember serving in Germany in 88 in the armour cour, we had the only native crew in the Regiment. Crew Commander was a Mic Mac from New Brunswick, the driver was from Quebec and he was a Mo Hawk, the loader was from the blood tribe from southern Alberta, and me the gunner, a cree. .

  • Whoever disliked this has to be a Hatak Nahola!!!!!!

  • see its reasons like this im proud to be native...im from the tribe gros ventre out of fort belknap montana...native pride and my highest respect to all fallen soilders from our country..white black red or yellow..r.i.p...youve done well and my sorrys to the family members who lost such great women or men.......

  • Welcome home.

  • I Wanbli Giacomini thank all Native who unfortunately died during the futile wars for the liberation of Europe and try to do a little tribute to them and their families and survivors may their souls rest in peace. These recordings, I will share with my facebook contacts so they remember that there is a lesser known group for our liberation fought called the Native and natural to those who survived thanks.

I'm sorry that my English and grammar is not very correct

  • Thank you to all who have served and died for freedom. Thank you for posting this. My father, uncles, and brothers have served in the military. This makes me happy to be free and I hope we stay that way. Thanks again.

  • The medecine drums sing loudly for my Brothers R.I.P. Thomas Tiger, Randy Two Crows and Michael Johnson.

  • Awesome song...love the way they sing!

  • Thanks for this great tribute to those who served.

  • Fantastic. How many soldiers have WE put in to the field. Johnny. Onandoga, Iroquois.

  • Some love this song.. To allee my uncles that fought in ww 2 ...and allee veterans ..

  • I heard all the native storys and it seems to me they had more balls then the white people in ww2 they had to do imposssible missions that a white person didn't want to do and they even let them put on head dresses to scare the enemy thats cool i think real heros in my eyes guts like no one eles.

  • I see this group at my local powwow every year, this is my favorite.

  • one dislike? what is your problem?

  • An amazing song to honor those who have gone before, those who serve now and those to come.

  • Such an amazing song! Remebering my Grandfather who fought in WWII & today my brother who is currently in the Military! Showing a good example in Our reserve! 11-11-11 <3

  • So wonderful!!! Such an amazing sacrifice from a people who had less reason than most to make such a sacrifice. Thank you. Remembering you on this Veteran's Day. 11-11-11

  • "LEST WE FORGET"...in the beginning, before the arrival of our white brother, there were thousands of "WARRIORS" we should be remembering in our thoughts...beautiful song, i loved it..miigwetch...

  • may we never forget those who gave all for our country, these veterans of our society are heroes but when you ask them if they are a hero they say "the true heroes are the ones who didn't make it home" they fight for our freedom they fight for our people, to keep our language, or ways of life. be respectful to all veterans because they fought for us too keep our ways of life.

  • thoostorm4,

as long as you show respect for our veterans, don't sweat those ignorant fools that hate...

  • I was just a toddler but I remember well when I was shooted from a RAF plane. WW2. And I remember well when, a year later, the USA Army freed my town, Milano. Now I met on FB a very old Apache Veteren that was wounded to free my country. I was speechless and very moved because he fought for "my" freedom while my people doesn't even know what really happened to Native Americans and that they survived the horror of our "civilisation"..To Native Veterens:Thank you, from the deepest of my heart

  • My Dad served in the Army in Germany in the 1970,s that,s when I was born in Germany. We should honor all of our warriors.

  • Awww..this is such a beautiful song!!

  • anybody have the song titled "World War 1 & World War 2"??

  • @kolvillesfinest If we are thinking of the same song I believe it is a Mankiller Veteran song. NO idea where to find a recording of it.

  • I love this!

  • @hoodeeehoo i played it last year i got many hate mailsi will send all to google now

  • i wonder who disliked this probably the white man

  • i love this song! have seen this vidoe lots of times. my uncle posted it up on fb earlier today and i just notice that at 2:09 that's my little cousin dancing! great video!!!

  • thank you for shareing!

  • i remember hearing this song the 1st time...still sends chills down my spine

    thank you..

  • I love this song!! And of course I love these guys. i cannot listen to this song without tears in my eyes. this song makes me think of my Dega Velven D Snake. RIP Dega. Love you so much! Thank you guys for making this song.

  • When I was younger, I used to question why Indigenous Peoples went to battle for the very people who oppressed them.

I asked some of the Warriors and found out the truth. These lands are still our land and always will be ours. They fight not for a country, but for our land. It was always their duty to do so and today, they do no less. They still fight for our freedom and our homelands. OUR HOMELANDS!

  • Wel'lio Smakis (thank you Veterans) for keeping this the US and Canada Free my Grandfather served in the American army during the Korean war when he passed on we drummed this song for him and so when I hear it it brings a tears to my eyes . They shall grow not old as we grow old age shall not weary them nor the years condem at the going down of the sun in the morning we will remember them

  • one of the best songs u can ever hear at a Pow-Wow!

  • every pow I go to I always shake the veterans hands and thank them

  • I respect the Warrior, But the War. War/s are Political. And its very easy to forget about Our/Your Native Histroy ("it happen a long time ago, who cares") But the US was founded on an ideology, Ethno-Eurocentric, that wide out many Nations from Alaska to Argentina. but, history always repeats its self...

  • To those referring to these "WARRIORS" as sellouts, walk in our shoes before you judge. Its no easy decision to make the sacrifice to risk your life daily, every moment not knowing if its your last,to hang up the phone with your kid praying youll hear their voice again.you dont know these people,or the individual motivations that brought them into the path they walk today.there is just as much shame in contempt u speak for people u dont know that often are fighting for those they love, not the govt

  • A wise lyric said"Jews don't salute & pledge allegiance to the swastika, yet you fight & die for the flag that accosted ya!" Immortal Technique said "Our people are warriors,so we feel the need to defend our country even if it means being brainwashed into killing innocent people who didn't attack us on September 11. Without a proper leader & proper equipment, troops will not be able to function. They will not be liberators, but occupiers and oppressors, the harbingers of their own demise in the sand"

  • I would fight for my people anyday, Im a patriot but not to my country but instead to my people. One day, I hope we all stand up as one people and fight back against these false equalitical governments. They have lied ot us again and again. After both the world wars they didnt do jack shit for our poeple but instead helped out the whites. those damn racist shits

  • @Sasukewolfheart I'm with you, could NEVER hold the flag carried into my great grandfathers' villages on horseback to slaughter them as children and babies, that VERY SAME FLAG,which represents our homelands taken away and STILL occupied, that meaning has never changed, nor did that history or things from that time. I could NEVER go into another peoples' land and attack them shamelessly as was done to my family generations before me, AND on top of that -FOR the same fucks who did it to mine!wtf

  • Awesome song! Great photos. I especially liked the one with the little traditional dancer.r

  • i love this song and love everytime i here it at a pow wow

  • You people need to respect this song and your elders and the peope who fought for your freedom this is a song for them. not for you to discrimanate against. when i saw the curse words below this beautiful song i was appalled you should clean up your language and also it does not matter where you come from if your a redneck or not so think what your elders would say if they heard you talking in such a manner

  • @ErinZOllyZandKeniZ

HOPEFULLY, they'll NEVER have to understand this song.

    They'll never KNOW this pain.

    Well said.

  • @MrTwoCrows Oh rest assured, knowing the US governmetn's nature of for-profit oppression SINCE THE ROBBING OF THIS CONTINENT, and their promise to the corporate military industrial complex, and the abundance of non-white countries abundant in natural resources, combined with the continued NON-thinking on the reservations and the shameless recruiters going around to the poorest areas to recruit fighters and diers -yep, it's all but guaranteed these little boys will have a chapter of their own...

  • Respond to this video... TO ALL our vets, Indin an NON. THANK YOU, WELCOME HOME. I'll dance with and for you anytime.

    HOOOO

  • @ErinZOllyZandKeniZ I'm doin JUST THAT-respecting my elders's -ELDERS more elders than them, from the very moment their bright red blood lay coagulating on the green grass and plants and drying maroon around the edges, laying there with their eyes open and hands partially closed, after THAT VERY STARS AND STRIPES FLAG had been through their village and left on horseback.I AM respecting them,THEY would be appaled at seeing these sellout warriors.N ur worried about language.Mine would be proud of me.

  • @ErinZOllyZandKeniZ Get your story straight, you say they're fighting for my freedom,-AGAINST PEOPLE WHO NEVER THREATENED MY FREEDOM,no Iraqi or Afghani ever set foot on my homelands against my people,if you even buy they did 9/11,they did it ATTACKING BACK AGAINST THEIR OPPRESSORS LIKE OUR OWN FAMILY DID,-and you're gonna join YOUR OWN oppressor in squashing them in their own homeland defense. If they were fighting for my freedom, they would be fighting against THE ONLY ONES who took it away...

  • But instead they have a SWORN ALLEGIENCE to our oppressor in such that THE DAY THAT WE GAIN ENOUGH INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT, MATERIALS, AND NETWORKING TO FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM AGAIN with our internatinal allies within the next 100 years,THESE NATIVES WILL BE PART OF THE FORCE SQUEEZING TRIGGERS IN OUR DIRECTION..."defending 'america's freedom". Where has your mind gone?Do you do any thinking? That day it will be AFGHANIS AND IRAQIS as PART of our alliance squeezing triggers with us,against our NME.

  • @ErinZOllyZandKeniZ Theyre elders did a genocide on these people. Why they would be any different?

  • Its such a pity that those of you who enjoy your freedom can be so negative towards those who gave it to you, regardless of where they came from. Then again giving honor to our ones who go to fight may just be an Indian thing. Perhaps you just do not understand. That is a true pity and a shame.

  • @beatgirl07 Are you saying that white settlers gave freedom to Native Americans? WTF, here take a blanket with smallpox!

  • @samirbalonmano youpeice of shit redneck

  • @thoostorm4 Fuck you, I'm saying that white guys fucked up and killed and raped american natives, and now these same american natives are doing to others what has white master done to them, and in the name of the white master. Got to respect for that, at least american natives should understand that, and not being proud that they are slave killers and soldiers of those who gave them blankets with smallpox. Do you understand now retard?

  • @samirbalonmano I clearly see that it is beyond your understanding that our involvement in the military also represents that this is still Our Country. We still hold the flag captured from Pahuska (Custer to you).

  • @samirbalonmano Prophesy tells us that we would see America Come and go.

Many of us Red brothers and sisters see what is going on around the world.

What I meant is that this is still our land not necessarily the false value system that exists here.

  • Respect" brave soldiers, brave souls

  • Last time I heard this song was when my cousin sang this at my dads funeral

  • Posing as stupid mascots for the FASCIST US ARMY ????

  • @intezam gophuk yourself redneck trash

  • @thoostorm4 Use you brain before commenting.I am not white, red neck, I am as brown as a Paki gets. But if your glorious US army comes to my country intimidating, killing them, displacing them, them I have issues with that, wether you are White, Black, Latino or Native - doesn't matter .Joining US Army automaticly converts you into a mascot . It's you, who is the redneck. In the past Natives have worked for the whites killing their own, today they serve full time in the US Army killing my people

  • @intezam It is sad that nations are ruled by the double tongues. And it is good that men can get together during the struggle and choose life. It shall be life.

  • @intezam We also need to stop sending your Country all that money too. I don't work for you. Why do you speak English in the first place?
