@huskergal2 I have read the research. :) My children do open ended activities as we have time and resources available. But, sometimes I am too overwhelmed to deal with finger paints/glue/glitter/etc. I love having the freedom to pull out an activity that we can enjoy together with little planning or cleanup. My children enjoy them and so do I. They are fun! As an aside, there is also research that shows that modeling is a precursor to "true" creativity. Thanks for your comments!
