@frjimt9455 It has. Although I'm no fan of the new translation, I must say that the revised Jubilation Mass is probably the best "re-worked" setting out there right now. The Gloria, for example, sounds extremely close to the original without seeming "forced."
@QuesterLEJ Dude they fixed a lot of stuff like when the preist used to say it will shed for you and for all so that sins maye be forgiven has been changed to the Poured out for you and for many for the forgivness of sins. The New translation brings validity into the mass.
@Undertaker5712 So you're saying you don't think the prior translation was valid?
That aside, while not everyone accepts Christ's sacrifice, He did die for all. "For many" carried an expansive meaning in the language of His day, meaning "Not only for you, but for the great masses." No matter how many times a priest can explain that in a homily, "for many" still carries a restrictive connotation in English.
Whether the new translation has "fixed" a lot of stuff is in the eye of the beholder.
@QuesterLEJ Pope Sant Pius V declared this, at the Council of Trent, to be the valid consecration "This is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal testament: It will be shed for you and for many unto the remission of sins." Saint Pius V also declared at Trent, "Now if one to were remove, or change anything in the form of consecration of the Body and Blood, and in that very change of words the new wording would fail to mean the same thing, he would not consecrate the Sacrament."
James Chepponis is great! He was a priest at my church a while back. Nice guy and he writes lovely music! You perform well too! Keep up the good work!
@theaterpipe1 It is neither. It is a Rodgers 950. It is not a Trillium model, but the series before, known as the PDI series, utilizing Rodgers' Parallel Digital Imaging (PDI). These were marketed in the late 90s, early 2000s.
We do this at my church regularly. This is the same tempo at which our choir sings it and the congregation has no problem with it. They actually complain when it's too slow.
I think it sounds great! I love your choice of registrations!
We have Rodgers Organ at our parish and it sounds great! The room is a little dead at my church, so hopefully they will come and do some work on that at some point!

Good, but I'd work on making it much more legato - the pedal part isn't written to be detached. Might be rough on a congregation at that tempo too.

THANK YOU for posting this. My church does this mass every Easter Sunday. One of, if not my favorite masses.
