@Labzo441 All I can really say is the ads say it was, and when i watched it, it wasn't Blu-ray quality but it didn't suck either. I was happy with it . I would more advise people to pick up the just released season one set, which I think you can get in regular outlets now, not just Time-life and see what you think , because the complete set is really expensive if you're unhappy with it.
@jdd67 So after a few months now you're still happy with it? I'm about to break down & get it & wondered. Little concerned about how it will look on my tv. Love the show though. Taped it off of SciFi yrs ago so I'm excited to get the set!!
@videozfann I think it was like 10 days or something but I ordered it when it was still a pre order. I'd buy from Time-life again though they seem to act pretty fast whenever I've bought anything from them .
I just now received my SMDM time life set. I rarely buy dvd sets but this and bionic woman were two I HAD to have. But I feel like an idiot for asking such a stupid question. But what's the best way to get the dvd's out of the circle without damaging them. In the time life set, they are in there so tightly that, no matter which way I try to get them out, I almost have to use too much force and I am afraid I'm going to damage the disk. The other dvd sets I have pop out and in easily
@mark40511 I wonder if for some reason your set had a different kind of case then mine . I just set mine on the table and push down on the button and they pop right off. I have had a couple of cases in my collection where I could barely get them off and it felt like I may break them , but I usually replace those cases. The cases I have in my set just pop out easy though, sorry wish I could help more.
Thanks. After posting that I went through the set and I noticed it's only hard to get them to pop out in the "season 5" case. The middle circular thing that holds them is designed differently than the rest of the seasons?? (why) I don't know. I have to be careful taking those out. Like you said, the others seasons pop out easily.
@vintagerosenz I'm not sure what the difference in price is , you must be outside the US ? I only paid like 269 or 289 or something like that. Its good quality though so I didn't mind. Hope you're able to get one soon. I wish they had done this with the Bionic woman set too released it all at once that is, just would be nice to have it all already.
@JDD67 Well, you wouldn't believe what happened. I went to buy it on Amazon, but they are forbidding me to buy it. I got this error ""Important Message:
The item cannot be shipped to the selected address."
I don't what the heck is up there. I tried different sellers of the same item at the cheapest prices and still the same error. Looks like I can't buy it. I don't know where to get it. Even Ebay has american only postage same as timelife.I really want it and they don't ship to NZ (new zealand)
Thanks for the preview buddy, I ordered my collection yesterday and cannot wait to get it – 6MDM was my favorite show as a kid, been waiting for this for years and years and it looks like TimeLife has done an awesome job!
The "made for tv" movies and especially the first tv episode (Population Zero) were by far better then any of the later episodes...in the first movie (The moon and the desert) he tells Oliver Spencer (much cooler boss then Goldman) "I don't want to hurt people", Spencer replies "Be creative" (so as to not hurt anyone when on a mission), of course on his first mission he quickly knocks a filthy arab to the ground, lifts his right arm and quickly caves his chest in with a single lethal blow.
Thats an awsome set. thanks for posting. i love it when the voice comes on when you open the box. i grew up on TSMDM same as you. Because of this wonderful show, Millions of little Britons up and down the country ran aorund the playground in slow motion! Thanks for posting
Great post. Yes I agree it was the best tv show ever. Still remember watching it when I was a kid, with my dad. Apparently there were some legal issues with Warner Bros and that's why they took so long to release it. Price for the set is a little steep but I'm hoping Santa will put it in my stocking this year!
@MrGilles63 I haven't seen the Time life Site in awhile , but people have contacted me saying that they may be or have split up the complete set up into season sets for the people that can't afford the whole thing, which given the economy right now isn't a terrible ideal.
@Barginjunkie69 I'm not sure where but I think it was TVonDVD.com said that now they've done the complete set like the one in my video , that they're going to be doing single seasons too. So if price is an issue that may be a way to get it so it doesn't hit so hard all at once.
My set arrived early as well. It really tickled me when I opened up the box and it started talking. I really loved all the interviews with all of the stars as well as Kenny Johnson and Harve Bennett who I learned was the voice before Richard Anderson in the opening say Steve Austin astronaut, a man barely alive. I always wondered who that first voice was, and now I know. Best Xmas present ever.
@lmx370 I never knew Harve Bennett did the first part either, I always assumed that Richard Anderson did the whole thing. I still think one of the best things about it is they just released it all at once instead of screwing around with season sets.
@JDD67 I knew it wasn't Richard Anderson that did the first part because the voices were different. As for Fall Guy, I agree that it sucks that they didn't put out all the seasons. You can get season two from a well known online store in England, but you also need a region free DVD player to watch it, which I ended up doing. I can't give out the name of the store since YouTube doesn't allow me to do that, but I can tell you in a private message.
Absolutely amazing collection there! BTW I see that you've also got Lou Ferrigno's tome My Incredible Life As The Hulk. I could just make out the corner of it. What's it like?
@Banner1979 Lou's book is pretty good. Its not great, but if you like the show and him its decent. You could sit down and read the whole thing in like a couple 2 -3 hours. That one is signed by him thats why its up on display in the comic room. I do the reviews of everything in the comic room because I have good light and a big table there . I think I got that at the Metropolis Superman celebration the year Lou was a guest.
@JDD67 Cheers. Thanks for the information, JDD67. You have a really nice room there, full of light and your vid's pic quality's terrific :). I have always wanted Lou's book but as I live in the UK, I'm a little anxious about getting it from America as it'll mean I could have to pay extra taxes. Besides Lou's own site, do you know anywhere else I can get the book from?
@Banner1979 I'm surprised he doesn't do conventions in the UK. The only place I've ever seen it sold is when he does the Autograph shows and comic conventions. I guess there is always ebay. Wish I knew somewhere else to suggest for you.
@JDD67 That's okay. I think he has come over here a few times, but far far away from where I live. I know a big Hulk fan in the UK who has his book and he says it's very good and that it also has these sheets which have production orders and filming dates on them. Yep, I'll try ebay. Cheers.
@JDD67 I love the series too and love the pictures from what you show of the NASA/NORTHROP HL-10 Lifting Body. Last summer I filmed a parody of this show not knowing that just by linking it to Vanity Fair magazine I would easily win a Vanity Fair video contest. realspiel(dot)net - enjoy!
I think I am gonna cry. I am jealous! I have been wanting this for years and only thing you can find up until now is a bootleg set with the mediocre sound and kinda fuzzy.
This seems really pricy for what they want but damn worth it.
I have Knight Rider, A-team, 3 's Company, Dukes Of Hazzard, Incredible Hulk, and most recently Hunter which was finally released in a box set ($60) and this would sure be a welcome addition. Now if only we can get a full series set of the Fall Guy.
@JDD67 No doubt on Fall Guy, what made me mad was I purchased season 1 as soon as it came out in 2007 and was hoping to collect remaining 4 seasons but the remaining season sets were cancelled if you can believe it do to "poor sales". I think 6 Million Dollar Man and Fall Guy are a must for Lee Majors fans like you and myself.
@shannonnutt It was expensive all at once , but I figure if they charged me 40 bucks a season it averages out. Plus Its nice to know that they aren't going to stall out on us with the release. They do a lot of half season sets. The Big Valley for example they released season 1 and half of season 2 and nothing else in years. Really cool set though.
Did they remaster the set?
