Sure it is nothing special compared to Suika and Aya, but those two are like the best in their respective categories. Aya - speed and Suika - strength.

I don't think Remilia was serious about taking over the moon, because you don't see any of her signature attacks and she allowed Yorihime time to recover.

Although Reimu was clearly unenthusiastic about the events leading up to the encounter, she did try to win :Identified a potential weakness in Yorihime's want to keep the moon and herself pure. Made it so not only every last bullet must be dodged, but also that every last one must be destroyed before it hit's anything on the moon, lest the moon become tainted such as the earth.

That was the only thing that even made Yorihime take pause in any of the fights, never did she have to go on offense.

She's canonically unbeatable. For Reimu, there is no in-game cliche character development where she finally defeat the bad through power of love/friendship or whatever bullcrap.

She'll just give you her indifferent expression and goes..

@Starxsword Well, SWR isn't exactly one set story, so that doesn't really count.

And as for Yorihime- look, no one in Gensoukyou has a chance of winning against her, It's doubtful that even Eirin could handle her old pupil.

@nerdfromhell SWR is more or less one story. The events coincide with each other and each character does her arc on different days.

Tenshi's story pretty much wraps up the events of all the characters that face her prior to Reimu's story.

Eh? That is your opinion. As far as I can tell, neither Remilia nor Reimu was really fighting seriously against Yorihime.

Remilia even beat Yorihime in broad daylight, which was how Yorihime figured out Remilia's weakness in the first place.

@Starxsword The events loosely connect, but like most of the touhou games, the events and their outcomes change based on which character you are playing as.

And on Yorihime : Remillia and reimu did fight seriously, reimu wasn't into it at first, but it's made pretty clear that Yorihime is much more powerful. The entire thing was about how powerful the lunar residents were, and of course they revenge the few residents of gensoukyou wanted for their overwhelming lose when they attacked the moon,

@nerdfromhell Untrue. The events in SWR are not as loosely connected. The events do not change based on which character you are playing. They follow one story line. Play through all the characters and you will see that or you can just read the wiki, that works too. It is pretty clear during Tenshi's arc that she held back against all of them.

Neither Remilia nor Reimu fought seriously. More on this, too many words.

@nerdfromhell Remilia was clearly relaxed during the entire event. In CiLR, it was stated she did not care whether she won or lost. Reimu already says before the fight they were going to lose, because they are the bad guys.

Of course Remilia lost, Yorihime figured out her weakness and baited her. If Remilia was serious, Yorihime would have no chance to counter attack. Yorihime clearly lost to Remilia during their first bout.

@Starxsword You mean SSIB, right? Remillia always keeps her composure, it's her mindset, but Yorihime also made no actual attack against Remillia (or Marisa). Based on those two fights where she made no attack of her own, and paitently waited to be shown something impressive, I believe it is very plausible that she was merely toying around with them. (Chapter15-16)

A battle is more than power and speed (which reimu and marisa comment on how Remillia is nothing "special" :p)

@nerdfromhell Although I will take back my comments on SWR and do further research before making any further comment. If the story lines match up then they do, and it will be the one game that doesn't change based on who you play as for the most part. (Which character beat who, etc.)

@nerdfromhell No, I meant in Cage in Lunatic Runagate, it stated she did not care whether she won or lost.

In SSiB, The first sparring match was melee and Yorihime lost, this is the same as when Yorihime sparred against Reimu. Reimu got beat down, then Reimu was thinking of what strategy to use.

Yorihime does not look like she is playing, it looks like she needed an opening, because she only observed one weakness from Remilia. Amaterasu is also the strongest god.

Gensoukyo : 1 (We are counting the bottle of sake)

and remilia lost her fight, pretty quickly to. Reimu did give yorihime more of a challange, but only through setting it up so the moon itself faced anihilation (or it may have been the capital, but either way it's still the same point). >.>
