The boy from Enigma actually recorded the aboriginal Taiwanese performers illegally in Paris, I believe, chopped up and remixed the recording to produce the wonderful melody you hear in the song. In went John Bonham's sampled drum beat from When The Levee Breaks and there you have it. Enigma tried to get away with using the vocals for free (shocking) until the original Taiwanese performers heard it, sued them and won. It's an incredible song, but the way it was put together, saddens me a little.
@rwdl1 ...then take heart ...Cretu used recordings of Difang and Igay Duana he had thought to be public domain. The Duanas sued Cretu and the record company because they recieved no recognition in the credits or royalities from sales. France denied the recording had been made public domain in France (total fib) and hosted the civil trial. They held the record company blameless and came down full weight on Cretu. Although the Duanas won in principle France kept the cash award as 'court costs'
This is not Native American, that's a common mistake, it is actually a Taiwanese chant. I also made this mistake and walked down the isle to it at my wedding thinking it was Native American as I am almost 1/2 Cherokee.
@MrGreenV8 Enya does not sing in this song, is Michael Cretu and for woman's voice i belive that it is his wife, but i;m not so sure. I would love to hear a colaboration between those 2 artists
Actually, this is not Native American chant. This is a drinking song of one of the aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. I'm not sure if it's the Tayal or the Amei.
according to Enigma it was taken from a mongolian indegenous music

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we relate freedom with flying?
(3) Why do we have a feeling that we are freely flying in the sky when listening to this song?
(4) Why does the genre of aboriginal music of "Native American" give us an impression of height and flying high?
(5) Will this song be more enjoyable if listened on an aeroplane at 38000 feets?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
