  • When I hear this song,I get an uneven structure in my pants.

  • Visualization 80888 ! Bass drop rule

  • I like how at 1:00 Matthieu's voice can be ominously heard a second time. I noticed that it was absent in the mastered version but I thought it was an ingenious use of atmosphere to the song among other things. Or maybe the intro was playing tricks on my mind and I just thought I could hear his voice...

  • In my ears... This is one of the best songs of 2011 !

  • This sounds very akin to Tesseract.

  • 720p or GTFO, the difference is insane!

  • @MasterDonut Woah! Agreed. I never knew that adding more pixels would increase the sound quality...

  • @MasterDonut This needs to be put in the description.

  • Can anybody give me the lyrics @6:24 to 7:25?

My life will be complete after that. :)

  • @Kraathos It's the beginning of Hail

Walls of rain, washes out the innocence

The magnificent flood carves the letters down the flesh

Hierarchy slips into the felt strings - Altering it all

Facing the preys as if they were real threats - Schism

Paranoid illusions leading to an higher step of evolution

  • @Archetupon Thank you very much ! =D

  • sounds like tesseract kinda

  • I am so damn impressed by this. Not normally something I'd listen to, not because of the screaming but the low riffery. Very beautiful though, and catchable rhythms.

  • かっけえ!

  • groove

  • cant stop listening...help me !!!

  • Sounds wierd... for me, but nice!!!

  • brostep aint got nothin on djent

  • This band completely pulled it together, I mean I liked their previous album but it didn't have enough direction for my taste. Februus seems to actually take you somewhere. My favorite song is definetly "Hail".

  • Comment removed

  • Any full lyrics? I've only found snippets of the first clean section

  • @Archetupon Dark Lyrics has their new albums lyrics, they also don't have a bunch of shitty advertisements going on all over their page.

  • Can't stop listening to this ONE track! Just so epic!! MUST SLAY DRAGONS TO THIS!!!

  • I like the instruments but I just can't get into this type of screamed vocals. To me heavy metal vocals have to either be clean (from operatic to whispers) or very deep growls (a la Saturnus or Opeth), maybe even BM shrieks... but screams are a complete turn off for me.

  • Cannot stop listening to this song

  • This together with Ever Forthright's release will be remembered as the albums that took the djent genre and did it right. (Februus is more of an ambient djent band like TesseracT though, while Ever Forthright reminds me more of Meshuggah or Periphery).

Bands from now on will have a hard time comparing to those two!

  • 217 metalhammer issue ?

  • 2:35 FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK ....

    Buying this!

  • oh god that riff

  • WOULD BE NICE IF I COULD HEAR THE DRUMS...

  • It's nearly impossible for me to understand the lyrics to this song, even when I read them :(

  • Haha yeah, the emphasis on a lot of the syllables have been changed around to fit the rhythm more. Plus his accent and the recording makes "the" sound like "tsah", and "ersatz" sound like "errahd".

  • any good "djent tuned" band with clear vocals ?

  • @kaviramyead Tesseract for most of the songs !

  • This song and picture inspired me to paint something similar, no song/tune has ever done that to me...

  • This sounds a lot like Cloudkicker with vocals. Not bad, but I'm not a fan of the vocals myself.

  • 1:23 I wish they'd just played that ambient-ish part for alot longer, it's really nice :)

  • :") ......golly this video is great, im going to tell everyone i know about it , that i will.

  • seen them support Chimp Spanner and Tesseract. They were ok, nothing special. Chimp Spanner owned the show.

  • thall

  • I've listened to this so many times. Maybe the CD shows up tomorrow.

  • @andydoonanbass Yeah, still waiting on mine too... at least I got a free (and legal) official download straight from Basick. Send an email to them (info@basickrecords . com) if you want to. Doesn't have the 3 tracks from the 2nd CD though : \

  • Wow...Just came across this...blown away at how good this sounds. Just added to my favorites.

  • Just glad they found their voice... "8" was just a lost Meshuggah album. THIS, however is GODLIKE!

  • Was this before they decided how they were going to divide the songs up? This has the first section of "Hail" tagged on to it too.

  • @StepSoftlyGhost Being a continuous concept album I'm sure they had an idea how they were going to do it. When they first posted this video they said it was the middle of the first half of the album or something like that. They also have a band website and it had the lyrics to Hail posted around the same time of this video I think.

  • This song makes me feel just like that guy in the image.

Flying through the fabrics of space and time... with unbelievable music to accompanying you.

  • wow 720p really does make a difference..

  • The clean vocals are really good, it reminds me of Buddy Lackey and the sensibility of Psychotic Waltz music.

  • Thank God there are still musicians like these in this crappy world!

  • I think this is incredible! I also can't wait for vildjharta's debut as well.

  • Heavy and ambient, I love it!

  • music with a mind

  • Holy crap if you guys haven't herd all of Februus yet, DO IT!

In a year so full of disappointments i was overjoyed to hear this album come out so flawlessly. Best of 2011 for sure and probably best one of the best of all time. Not even kidding.

  • If Animals As Leaders ever implemented a vocalist, I hope it comes out sounding like this. This fuckin rules.

  • I bought this on itunes, and they fucking put a 3 second gap between all the songs, when it's meant to be a gapless album, they fucked it right up.

  • @luke666808g you can remove the gaps

  • @Theguywhoplaysguitar I downloaded a pirate copy and it was better than the one I payed for.

  • this is the first cd i have ever bought.

  • love the minnimal toutch on the begining

  • To be honest, I like this version of frost a little better than the new one. Not that the new one is very different, this just sounds a tiny bit more atmospheric. Either way it's an INCREDIBLE song. Plus the full version of "Hail" is wonderful

  • @MrNicetomeetya i thought the same thing the first time i heard the new version. i thought this one was more atmospheric and emotional almost. but after listening to the new one repeatedly and coming back to this one, while the differences are still there, i feel like one's not better than the other anymore. dunno

  • Beautiful. Period.

  • Meshuggah and Sybreed made a band? lol i like it

  • I love this song.

  • thall

  • fuckign amazing!

  • REALLY looking forward to Februus

  • @luke666808 Out of the three bands you mentioned, I have only heard sagas by equilibrium. And I have to say, it's a godlike record, the symphonies really adapt the black metal. However, I have to say I like Uneven Structure's potential sound better because like davwuh I love jazz-fusion or ambient-fusion metal. I have recently discovered the post-metal genre which includes phenominal albums such as Cult of Luna's Salvation and Isis's Panopticon. I highly recommend those

  • Thall

  • I never realized the difference in sound quality on youtube between the most hd and lowest till just now. wow.

  • @DissYraiN I just changed it to HD when i read this, and fucking hell you're right. Makes a huge difference on this.

  • @DissYraiN It's like a new fucking song entirely!

  • this is awesome, just when i thought all new music was shit this comes along

  • @davwuh LoL What? so this is the only new thing in existence that proves new music isn't shit for you? You're silly.

  • @luke666808g Nothing else has excited me since I heard Meshuggah about 5 years ago

  • @davwuh you're just too hard to please, I like Uneven Structure but I've heard a lot of good stuff over the years, did you listen to "After" by Ihsahn or "Bilateral" by Leprous or "Sagas" by Equilibrium?, all of which I rank higher than UES.

  • @luke666808g Aye i won't deny I'm too hard to please. I'm more into jazz and fusion than metal, but metal is the only genre doing anything decent these days I'd say (especially these djent bands). I'll check out your reccomendations though, cheers

  • @davwuh taken a listen to tesseract or (importantly) vildhjarta? On a less djenty note.. between the buried and me's album The Great Misdirect and their new EP are almost godlike in my opinion ^^.. and duuude if you can find a copy of Alan Holdsworth's Blues For Tony from 2009 go for it! There IS great new music out there! It just hides sometimes..

  • @TobyHorak Cheers, I've saved them all to a .txt file to remind me.. I don't keep up with music news so I guess a lot of good stuff passes me by. Only discovered this band from browsing through Youtube related videos haha

  • How are they doing that guitar noise from like 0:30

  • @AzafreakSM they dont hit the top string, and mute it while they are strumming the rest of the strings

  • I listen to this song every morning when I wake up for uni & throughout the day after.

Its slowly becoming the soundtrack to my life!

  • @NotW1409 Cool song but soundtrack? Something more uplifting maybe?

  • @jajajah86 Yeah I know what you mean, but its just relaxing and ambient. Plus it does build up into the heavy riff which is awesome!

  • anyone know what kind of amp they used on this song? Sounds tighter than a Recto but has that juicy low end. Fryette Pittbull maybe? It's amazing. Dynamic, tight, cuts through the mix, thick.

  • @Fryek89 Line 6 POD X3 :D It's a Line 6 big bottom amp, going through Celestion T-75 speakers, with an FX boost. Very raw and scratchy

  • To set the record. Acle told me that he used Eggeh's (the guitar player of Uneven Structures) Pod xt patch to record FELLSILENT's album.

  • @cardonaband Aside from the fact Im PRETTY sure Acle recorded Fellsilent's album with Mesa Triple Rectos...

  • WOW

  • My first impression of this band was that its just another djeneric djent band but with Februus they really set themselves apart. This is one of the best ambient/metal songs ive heard in a long time.

  • @Fryek89 yeap same here bro, buuuuut,we still have the new vildhjarta album to look forward to *-*

  • @Fryek89 nice joke bro

  • After being extremely underwhelmed by the EP, I'm so glad I gave these another chance. This is one of the best songs I've hezrd in a long time and is by far my most anticipated album of 2011

  • ok so now I have doubts. This song is called Frost, but at around the 6th minute, "Hail" begins. How does this work lol?

  • 6.04 oh my god this shit is next level

  • @arieksundah, I heard the TesseracT riff you were talking about (and I don't listen to CK so I don't know what they sound like). Yeah, there's definite influence but like you said, there's a line between influenced and copying.

  • @mdross9500 I don't consider their being a djent scene, mainly because it's a young genre and it's still very underground. The only band that many people have heard of is Meshuggah. TesseracT and Textures are close behind. Veil of Maya and BoO seem too deathcore to be considered Djent and I'm on the fence about The Contortionist. Even so, this is kind of a new step for Ambient djent, and it could set a trend.

  • @arieksundah Considering it stays at just us, and no one is too aggressive, we can have a peaceful debate.

I would say Uneven Structure is unique in some areas. I don't think even TesseracT has as much atmosphere and ambience as this band. The style of clean vocals is also fairly original and rare. I would have to say the screams are fairly similar to most bands but under no circumstances bad. At around 6 minutes (where "hail" begins) there's a typical djent breakdown. So it's mostly unique.

  • @MrNicetomeetya It all comes down to what two people consider to be enough to be original. The leads sound very similar to Cloudkicker's in 2:39 for example and a Tesseract-esque lead then comes in on another track with the echo effect. Then the riff afterwards sounds very reminiscent of a Tesseract build up.

  • @MrNicetomeetya well, tesseract is ambidjent, but has a sharper energy, thats why you feel this one like... more atmospheric.

I love how uneven structure changed it's style, it's amazing!

  • @alterfuckive I feel dumb for not seeing that, lol

  • Around 6 minutes it becomes "Hail" but I can't tell where

  • @MrNicetomeetya maybe here where he screams 'Hail' - 6:08

  • when is the album coming out? I am waiting for it for almost a year now.

  • @bxdp The album is out on October 31st, you can already preorder it on Play.com or Basick Records Store.

  • isnt this song called frost? :\

  • @avataraidyo

No, they put "frost" in the title just for fun.

  • I have made A LOT of fabulous musical discoveries tonight. Uneven Structure are one of them. It all started out when I listened to Future Breed Machine - Meshuggah.

  • @PortalOfTruth U may also want to try out, Sybreed, Laments of silence, The Neologist, and universum. Those are really great artists as well.

  • @PortalOfTruth i liked the comment, not the playlist.

  • @mithmasta2 To each his own, my good man. That playlist is a mess anyway.

  • fuck this is fucking incredible fuck

  • clean vocals reminds me of Ulver.

  • This is awesome

  • amazing

  • Saw these live in Newcastle the other week, absolutely beautiful music. There is no other description for it. Can't wait for the album to come out.

  • I'm going to listen the shit out of this album when it comes out

  • Unholy shit, this is fantastic.

  • Saw you yesterday at Corporation! Incredible live performance! Keep it up guys and good luck on future projects!

  • i cant stop listening to this!

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUCKIN GREAT SONG

  • Excellent show in Newcastle guys :]

  • Great clean vocals, kind of Garm from Ulver.

  • i want to drink some februus extract

  • @rot105and

Fool. You know you must smoke the extract, not digest it.

  • @rot105and Probable its ayahuasca xD

  • This was incredible last night.

  • Saw these guys last night supporting Chimp Spanner and TesseracT and honestly... they were the highlight of the night!

  • This vocalist brings a soul to this band!

  • Despite living in a world of Dan Tompkins and Elliot Coleman, I fucking love this guys voice. It's perfect for Uneven's style.

  • was so epic to see this song live !

  • Absolutely love the fact that this background picture for the "extract" is an extract from the album art. Or a slightly modified version of a part of the album art.

  • Release of Februus on October 31st, pre-orders starting September 26th which ship from October 15 onwards. It will be a 13-part concept double-album, and it will fucking destroy you.

  • Eggeh is my hero, <3

  • So umm.... yeah.... this is pretty fucking amazing

  • 2:38 - enough said

  • Mastodon vox in the "melodic" sections that is.

  • @CptBL4ckC0k3578 can`t really say i hear anything here that remotely reminds me of Mastodon.

  • Sounds like TesseracT instrumentals with Mastodon vocals. (To me that is)

  • Terrifying, never felt so overwhelmed in my life, awesome

  • Just perfect! My 10 months old baby girl loves it aswell! :)

  • Going to see these guys with TesseracT in September :-)

  • Is there any chance we could get the full set of lyrics for this? The vocals are so awesome.

  • absolutely beautiful , im in awe

  • More clean vox and Ill be happy! ;)

  • I haven't heard a track as atmospheric and just so.... full.... in such a long time. Whoever disliked it must be musically challenged. Can't wait to see them with Tesseract in September :D

  • The riff from 2.38 surpasses almost anything I've listened to.

  • Holy shit. this is like listening to Tool But in a Djenty sound. Amazing!

  • awesome cover

  • you would never know if there was another letter for the darkness fades it along with us to question

  • These guys have their own sound, and its so distinct

  • Me bitch!

  • Which cunt disliked this? Show yourself, immediately.

  • At times this sounds like Obituary might if they decided to Djent shit up.

  • someone missed the like button

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else have to listen to this first before they look at anything else on youtube?

  • Comment removed

  • see you guys next friday :D

  • holy faaack!....thats all you can really say after hearing this

  • I thought this was called Frozen?

  • MIND.JUST.GOT.BLOWN.

  • Beautiful song, cant wait for the album

  • This is the future of music.

  • I fucking love this, U.S are one of the most definitive metal bands out there (IN MY OPINION) and deserve everything they get in the future!

  • Juste fantastique .. merci US!!
