  • Many traditional mosaics use a grey thinset throughout the mosaic. A neutral shade keeps you looking at the mosaic and not the adhesive! I often use a thinset the same shade as the tile I'm laying to make the overall color more intense. If you choose to do that, you would need to make a new cup of thinset (or a portion of a cup) for each shade. Have fun!
