  • yes i agree i love my 2009 M3 and with the software upgrade there is no hesitation at all in either mode m or d. complete animal and i love those 19inch rims. i have the sedan since it seats 5 and i absolutely love it.

  • This is the guy that drove the Ford Mustang GT vs. BMW M3 in the 2011 shoot out in which Mustang GT had almost identical specs to the more expensive BMW M3. What strikes me as odd is that here the same race car driver is saying "What a ride, this thing so much fun!" "One of the best" "What a great ride!" Yet in the Mustang shoot-out he downplays the M3 in the Mustang shoot-out. Biased reporting? Did he get "persuaded" towards saying this against M3? Did Motortrend get Ford kickbacks? You decide.

  • Lets be honest, no matter how tall you are inside a Mustang you feel like pea on a frying pan all the time, they have never showed good handling and next to an M3 any ford and any Mustang lack of the proper racing technology and design. i used to love Ford but lately all the offer are problems and cheese manufacturing.

  • @Aliasify yes by 2 sec LOL but if the M3 was a DCT instead of stick shift, the time will be faster which the Boss 302 doesn't have. Plus the Boss 302 looks like any other mustang. There's no extra flair or spoilers... no distinctive features that gives it that GT top of the line feel. Just some big black stripes that looks like a kids car with no sophistication. American car designers need to understand the market they are competing against, porsches, audis, bmws......

I take it you are yet to see the "laguna seca" edition 302, its very much diffrent to the GT. The mustang, and to an extent most other US manufacturers, have such a passionate customer base that most would never consider driving anything else so in that respect they dont have to try and compete with euro companie

  • @walkabout09 its probably just the pads dude. Think bout the ZR1's brakes compared to the Z06. HUGE price difference and the ZR1 is the fastest stopping production car and probably will continue to be until the exotics start making lighter cars.

  • M3 has a great suspension and steering, but brakes could be done better(they're very heat resistant but I'm not 100% satisfied with the pedal feeling) , I also find the driving position is a bit to high even for me (I'm relatively small). BMW should offer a stripped out version of M3, without asking more money for less stuff.

    It's Silverstone II. It's an M car exclusive color. It's grey with blue content. Depending on the lighting (bright sun, overcast, inside a garage) you'd think it was changing color. Just amazing.

  • What i do not get is why they say they put a different 6.2 litre engine (6208cc) than in their other 63 Amg car such as the SL 63. The C63 only make 451 hp and the other 6.2 that mercedes makes 518 hp.

  • Yea. BMW does not want to sell a 43,000 car that is better than the M3. Which brings up the question of why they made the 335i if they purposely fitted a bigger wastegate to reduce boost. I guess they are just trying to follow Mitsubishi. Lancer, Ralliart, Evo and 328i, 335i, M3. Trying to make a car better than the base model but slower than the top of the line model.

  • Actually The C63 AMG isnt that good on the track, it loses power easily on the turns, unlike the BMW, it has a good handling, and you feel it...but I agree with it just wants to kill you.

  • Strange you say that. Because I've seen so many old Jaguar's working in better condition than YOUNGER BMW's.

    Trust me, I've owned two S-types. Neither of them had a single problem with the electrical system. Or a single problem AT ALL in fact. BMW's are far superior? Nah, Jaguar's are built in a very high tech factory in Castle Bromwich, along with Range Rovers. They are superbly built.

    Also the XF's interior is SO much nicer than the BMW's.

    BMW is just bland, boring, and silver.

  • Luke, I like the XFR, I really do, but there is no need to attack german cars just because you like that one. In fact all three M cars have been tested to achieve 0-60 in 4.1 with the following setups: for the M5/M6 Euro-Spec 0-60 in 4.1 with SMG III transmission and Launch Control, For the New M3 0-60 in 4.1 with DCT Transmission and Launch Control.

    I have performance meters on my car, which have confirmed this but I'm still sending you a PM with a professional Data Panel for all 3 cars.

In fact it bothers me when people say this car does 0-60 in 3.2465 when 0-60 is probably the least important measurement of performance, 1/4 mile is more important as the old gallardo would beat both M5/M6 to 60 & then get the same 1/4 mile. And NO the XF is one of the sexiest cars Jag has made. Its an insult to Jag and an exaggerated compliment to Hyundai/Ford to compare them. But it seems that you don't like the m5 because you bash it in every video.

    theres a slight difference between engine produced HP (BHP) and actually useable HP after losses thru transmission and stuff....

    secondly, america doesnt get snuffed but YES, you get less performance due to the low quality petrol.

    for example, standard petrol in us has on average 5 octane less then in germany, which is why BMW says 420 and in the US you get (transmission loss regarded) probably less then 400.

    it'll do 70mph though^^so y bother?

  • i looked on Wikipedia and the British HP and American HP are the same except in America it's just HP. i think in Europe they use brake HP.

  • Certainly, bhp is the power measured without any losses from the transmission, alternator etc. Whereas Hp is measured with them. So hp is usually less than a bhp figure.

  • There is no difference between bhp and hp. It's all semantics really. In fact "horspower" really isn't the best measurement for an engine's power to begin with but that's a separate matter.

It sure does lacks muscle compared for its class...but most people of drive it they take this to impress....however if you want to be good looking and have some big muscle put something like PES (supercharged R8 at about $10-15K ) then we can take and line it up with any muscle car lol

  • not even true. i think you would all be surprised at how well a 4th generation f-body handles, a WS6/SS could pull around .90g on a skidpad and something like 66-67mph through slalom which isnt bad at all, and they only weigh 3500-3600lbs

  • i think the best way to describe a typical american sports cars handling would be "fun"...perhaps not set-up to go around a track the fastest but you'll be having a damn blast....take a Camaro SS or Firebird WS6 and just let it rip drifting and shit and you'll have a smile the whole time...and fun is whats it suppose to be about anyways

  • It is 414bhp which is 420PS... the same as the RS4. This is definitely the best everyday sports car at a reasonable price.. the sedan is even cheaper and more practicle, but the rear end doesnt look quite as nice.

  • well there are a lot of ugly handling cars in europe . but until recently all american cars were rubbish in the corners. wat is all the hype about the dodge viper. until recently that thing was struggling to produce 500 hp from an 8 litre engine. the engine didn't even have 4 valves per cylinder. i am not from europe but all american cars do is burn fuel . the're rubbish. Mind you there are some exceptions
