I would LOVE if they would remake the game for wii or something. I hated the fact that it had a storyline that could be molded with this new species (the X) and they only had it on Gamboy Advanced

This beta looked like Metroid from my dreams, with such a dark atmosphere. Fusion was great, but I was disappointed in the end by the hand holding and annoying computer. Still a great game if you don't have Super Metroid with you.

Prime series is between 1 and 2, and Other M is between 3 (Super) and 4 (Fusion). I already think about Metroid 5. If I was a plot developer, I'd make the corrupt new leaders of Federation chase Samus for interfering in their illegal works from Other M and Fusion. In their irresponsability, thousands of metroids of all kinds (standard, alpha, gamma...) would escape from one of their secret labs in an important human planet, then they'd blame Samus for this. I see no better plot for the next game

I never watched a video of the initial concept of "Metroid IV".

I saw some pictures of it back in 2001 on Gamespot and thought it looked very well done. In some ways the game looks even moodier and creepier than "Fusion" and Samus' sprite is bigger in size which is definitely better than the final released game.

@alexsander5555100 Actually she's Swedish. Her name is Jenni Källberg, and she's kinda well-known in Sweden for her unique cosplaying outfits. I also think she modelled with that Varia suit for the German release of Other M.

Wow actually I do remember some screens I saw in a magazine back in the days when Fusion was announced, and they were from this footage of "Metroid IV". At that time I thought they were fake or just pics of an early version but it seems I was wrong.

i just hope they don't turn other m into a ng clone. from what i've seen with the gameplay its looking very similar, even with FINISHERS (used it on ridley, holding him down and shooting him in the MOUTH with her arm cannon)

@OriginalZero Did you hear that Sakamoto (essentially the creator of Metroid) wanted it to be an on-rails shooter? I actually like what it's turning out to be better. Plus that's just how the combat is. If you look at that video again she also uses the Speedboost for the first time in 3D

@ChozoBoy - Yes, the "Metroid IV" beta was shot by me in the Nintendo booth at E3 2001 in Los Angeles. I searched on the net for more info on this beta and I came across another youtube clip that's very similar to my footage but its alot shorter and without the "Metroid IV" logo appearing during the demo. Nintendo must've had two different preview reels playing at separate locations at their booth. I caught this one at their "World of Nintendo" mock-up store which I will be uploading soon.

@shorty1k - I think its safe to say judging from the Project M teaser Samus will stay faithful to the series. Yoshio Sakamoto (Producer) just wouldn't let that happen. Now the hair physics would be a compliment to Samus has her helmut off ^_^
