I in fact dont think it needs more CGI. CGI doesnt make a movie, like avatar for example.beautiful looking movie, but shallow story line and boring acting. ryan reynolds has talent, and I think that the story is based more on the conceptual forces of willpower and fear and treats them as actually entities in the universe is very interesting. we'll see how it truly is I suppose, but im looking forward to it

I hope this is somewhat faithful to the original comic book version. I had the first Green Lantern comic when it came out (no, like everyone else, my mom through them out when I "grew up"). GL was my favorite of all super heroes.

For those of you who have been complaining about the CGI. I seriously don't think a movie with a character like the Green Lantern could be done without massive amounts of CGI.  And if you know anything about the suit in the comics....it's isn't a cotton/polyester blend.

We've waited and waited for a Green Lantern movie and I definitely prefer this over a pudgy comedic Jack Black playing Green Lantern. Mark Strong and Ryan both studied their characters straight from the comics we've all read (even the series they're loosely basing the 3 movies of off; Secret Origins); I have faith they'll bring justice to the characters. If you've watch a collection of either of these guys movies, you'd see they're both versatile. And the CGI looks great; so, suck it internets.

@ejmp07 I think the story-telling for this is faithful to the comics. However, I have one small complaint. I honestly feel that Parallax is being introduced way too soon. I would have felt more satisfied with Sinestro going rogue after training Hal Jordan, but that's me saying it.

Look around, so far the reaction to the trailers have been very positive (excluding the first trailer), the fans are looking forward to it and a lot of people changing their original negative opinion their made about this movie from the 1st trailer. Yes some people are still bad talking it, but that always happens with a new adaptation.

@Sidionian You complain about movies being "unoriginal" but how many of the great movies people today are original? The King's Speech was based on a play, No Country For Men was based a book, The Departed was based on a Chinese drama, The Hurt Locker was based on a book, the list goes on. Complaining about "originality" is tired and at this point kind of silly. If you're going to hate a movie just because it's an adaptation then you're just making yourself hate it.

@TEKITOcreations You do have a somewhat valid point. But only somewhat. You assume I liked all or even some of the movies you mentioned. Granted, there are some good 'unoriginal' films out there. However, they all have a unique director's touch. For example, Scorcese made the departed his own. The Dark Knight and Batman Begins, whilst based on a comic book, were original screenplays by Nolan. I didn't like Kings Speech. And if you think it's impossible to make an original good film: District 9.
