Sea Ray is one of the better American brands. This could happen to any boat. Maybe his wife was pissed and left the stove burning. Revenge is a meal best served cold. This meal was hot though.
@LetsVIdeoThis Chaparral is more expensive than SeaRay and Rinker, and it has lower standard equipment. But I have heard about the good quality of chaparrals, do you get one?
@NikitaTver86 Ive got a 1990 VILLIAN3 with a 454, ive NEVER had any problems with the boat since i bought it in 2007, Has 1,445 hours on the meter, with many of those just bein from the key stayin on for the radio to play, It'll run 60+ on any lake,
$400,000 ???? When's the last time you've been on a boat or looked at buying one, 1978 ??? I know for a fact that that boat is well over $950.000 -1.1 M depending on engine package.
Hey Forestghost7, there's a reason why Searay ( production not custom, big difference in the two types of factories) is still producing while everyone else is out of buisness. We still put our heart and soul into our product everyday we punch in !! And I'm not an EX-Marine mech. I'm a 21 year employee that's proud to show my daughter and family all the boats that I've had a part in when were on the water!!
We've had two Sea Rays and God willing, someday I will have a 3rd! They are the best and I thank you for all the days of fun and nights of sound sleep I enjoyed aboard our Sea Ray's!
I went to the auction yesterday and saw the boat sitting there waiting to go for auction. It will go really cheap but does anyone know where the fire started. It's probably going to sell for like 30-40k
Searay is the BEST, top line, no doubt the best boat production company!, other boats like Maxum, Grady white, Bayliner, Charpel, ETC. have no chance next to a searay!
I too have a Searay 55 in San Diego. I have also had electrical problems, Melting electrical panel and wires arching. The factory sent out two tech's to fix these problems Mike D
Nobody was hurt and it was an electrical fire at the helm. The boat "Gabes Toy" is being replaced, reportedly by SeaRay because rumor has it there were numerous electrical problems with this boat. Gabe is still out there at party cove regularly, currently in a loaner 55 SeaRay like he had until his new one is ready.
