@davidbspalding Good eye, I didn't even notice the Villas until I read your comment. Also the Porsche looked like it almost lost it at the turn right after the S's. Didn't really seem like he knew the proper line.
@JaminTN Turn 10 can be treacherous, if you go over the gator, you have a fast, bumpy ride down into a gully that I'm told likes to EAT cars for lunch. Definitely good for making a novice passenger scream as you go WOT towards that outer edge. :D Man, I can't wait to go back and I just finished 3 days ~ 6 hours of track time.
@davidbspalding That's right that is Turn 10, I always forget the numbers. I'd have to say that is probably my favorite turn on the entire track. It's really good for putting butt hickeys in the seat. lol I believe we were both at the same event with thscc and triangle Z. We are planning on going back at the end of October with Chin Motorsports.
You ought to take that car up to Flyin Miata in Colorado. One of my fathers friends had a Corvette LS2 engine pushing some 400BHp, and in the way they rebuild the car it retains it's weight distribution, allowing it to keep its brilliant handling.
He turned in too soon at oak tree and then got on the throttle too much before the car settled and didn't stay on the throttle as his yawing began going into the straight.The tail will get twitchy when you don't commit. The whole entrance and exit from Oak tree is great fun indeed!Nice calm avoidance on your part.
People don't realize that cornering speed has fuck all to do with horsepower.

@pimp2daddy So a stock miata can trail a porsche 997 like that ? You're kidding right ?

@NikKast1981
On the straights with similar initial speed? Hell no!
On the section of VIR between the Climbing Esses & Oak Tree? Heck Yeah! :)

@pimp2daddy There were plenty of straights where the miata should be FAR behind, yet it was not...Plus the engine doesn't sound stock....

Looks like he gave a little too much gas going out of the corner. That driver in the miata pretty good.

Yep, the dangers of putting your loaded wheels over the gator. I didn't realize that Villas were built that recently....!

you're right! I don't know my P-cars. Just looked up the student list from the event. It says it's a 2005 "997 C2"
