Actually the most valuable information out of this video was to keep the partners head off the ground in scarf. Thanks for that!
In freestyle wrestling, we do this throw with a grip on the elbow to flare his arm outwards, therefore clearing the path for the drop. That´s the best no-gi adaption I can think of, because out of an collar-and-elbow tie up your partner will drive his forearm into your collarbone to keep you from easily dropping for the double or single. Greetings from Germany!
None of the above. Never competed internationally. When I started sambo, we were doing mostly combat sambo and the US Sambo scene was very disintegrated...very little opportunity to compete. We were doing much more mma style training, not sport sambo. In the last few years, since I have been coaching, sambo has made a come back and there is much more opportunity to compete in the US. I kinda missed my window.
Never too late...I just started mma like 2 years ago, and i just turned 28...in boxing im old....yet im just now approaching my physical prime...so i think if there is opprotunity to comepete now..U should..Technique always beats age..and ur tecnique is a 10...
I did compete in 2007. But, I have very bad knees and some other issues as a 40 year old dude. I am not opposed to it, but in all honesty, titles don't mean much to me and coaching is what I love to do. But, one never knows...there is a masters division ;)
Lol that was awesome. In Capoeira we have a couple of moves that are simular to this. You just gave me a sweet variation. Thank you :-D
