  • I would never make a hoax call like that. That would be very bad. I hadn't got any emergencies at my country yet and I haven't dialled 999 yet.

  • that was sad if the mom did't smoke this whot happen at all

  • I still don't see why anybody would find it funny to prank call 911 (or in this case 999).

  • what happened 2 the lady in the fire

  • A life for a life I say the two people who called the fire brigade should have to pay their life for ending two other lifes if they can track them down they wouldn't get punished, all because of our lenient justice system and dismal police force!

  • ohh also this is a true story...it isnt fake!

  • when we went to cruical crew on a school trip it showed this and i baseicly started crying......how sad are them 2 girls faking a fire then then kids dieing.....this shows what prank calls can cause.....ow them kids are there in there mind for the rest of there life....how sad can u get !!!!!

  • lol those kids are retarded

  • Fantastic. What a great message. Really well put together and It actualy had me included. It didnt feel like i was watching a video it seamed real so well done.

  • I LOVE THE VIDEO AND IT SHOWS THAT A HOAX CALL CAN KILL AND I HOPE NO ONE DOES THAT !!![iminent=R9Sjb9gUWfOB]

  • its not every hour its every second that theres always a hoaxs call laws should be tough and makes it for us firefighters because where needed

  • Dickheads those people who make the hoax call

  • it actually does think..heaps of hoax calls kill because someone dies every hour of the day. BECAUSE OF HOUSE FIRES.

  • people who make hoax calls are twats

  • I know this video is about hoax calls, BUT...

What kind of retarded mother leaves young children in the house, on their own, playing by lit candles????????????????

  • The making of this video is probably a waste of time too if real firemen and control centre operatives were use.

  • another important message is also smoking kills, if that women wouldn't have left her 2 kids next 2 candles whilst she went outside 4 a fag she could've made a difference.

  • the oparter dose not know that there is no people there but that is just not nice to do if it was in reak life she has no kids now off the tow girls doing the call

  • very good video. Just shows what affect hoax calls can have on live. Even your own if you ever need help.

  • err no smoke alarm and she shouldn't have left the candles unattended, that fire could have been prevented and the children would have had a better chance of geting out

  • @warANDemergency Calls are traced, the location is not usually. If you call that house number, is the person going to get to the phone? Maybe not if they're unconscious, outside the premises, away from the premises, or you have phoned the incorrect premises because the caller got it wrong, the database is inaccurate and so on. The EM don't want to put people off making genuine calls. Its all a double edged sword.

  • yeah mind you people who make hoax calls should get life

  • Whats the song at "The cost of a 999 call is free"?

  • Whats the song that starts at "the cost of a 999 call is free"?

  • people who make hoax calls should get a minium of 20 years in jail

  • people who make hoaxs call should be jilled for least 15 years

  • Hoax calls should carry a minimum sentence of 2 years and an unlimited fine

  • This really does show the effect it has on real fires to hoaxes. If people hoax one day there family will be involved!

  • Great video, there should be much tougher penalties for those ignorant enough to actually make these hoax calls

  • @lattlay Yeah the penalties should range from £1500 and higher. Even prison time if the hoaxer is caught and a death is cause.

  • I agree. Not Just Money Penalties. There Should Be Imprisonment.

  • Comment removed

  • Should be done 4 manslaughter.

  • That is true....UR PAYING 4 YOUR LIFE!

  • tragic but it does happen. Had the experience of this when we turned up at another stations ground and a baby died

  • now although I have stated in a previous comment that tht star of this piece is a total bitch I am a little dissapointed as to why she was not credited in this little creation. She is a very talented girl and deserves to be recognised. However she is now starring in a sequel, where she has to come face to face with the parents of the kids she has murdered. I still think though that the mother is the villian of the piece for leaving her kids alone.

  • So the firebrigade for another station hade to come or the same firebrigade from doncaster turned up but a long time later ?

  • another station

  • i agree completly, i am a firefighter with london fire brigade and we get hoax calls a lot!

  • not a marine then?

  • ex marine.

  • The thing is this happens quite often in real life, and i am appauled by the people who do this, i believe it should be a criminal offence, to deter people from commiting these crimes, and save lives.

  • I agree

  • great video Dan it does put that message out there. and is a good dramaic representation of real life. I think that its good to work with the fire service .....:) nice one :Y

  • I hate the people who kept on messing with emergency call when they themselves is not in danger. That puts the ones who are in a life and death situation. May this video make a difference.

  • stupid bitches man cost people there lifes

  • This is true. It has happened. Not only stupid teenagers but people that call 911/999 for the wrong sandwich at a fast food joint. Or a person that can control their kids because they are bad parents. The stupidity has to stop!!! It is job security though. Thanks morons!

  • I cried when i saw this at crucal crew it was sad :(

  • Were you tempted into the house? Or is that no longer there? It is quite a long time since since I did it.

  • Fucking idiots prank calling emergency services, what entertainment do they really gain from it?

  • I would just like to say that I go to Uni with the Hoax caller and she is a total bitch, it is the sort of thing she would do, but I would also like to point out that for a mother to go for a fag and shut the door and leave kids playing by lit candles is also a tad irresponsible.

  • Ffs... will people ever learn...

  • good video, hopefully sends through a message to hoax callers

  • But it doesn't make any sense, the hoax call was worthless in the plot; it would have been different if you got the operator to say: "there is no fire service left at the moment" or something, because they were attending hoaxes; but otherwise, it relates to nothing in the plot.

  • I don't think you've quite grasped the purpose of the video. The title clearly states Hoax Calls Kill, this would have been difficult to express without a hoax call being made. It's simply telling you making a hoax call could get someone killed.

Also imagine if your house was on fire and the fire service told you they were busy atm, wouldn't you rather hear them tell you they were at least sending an engine as soon as possible?

  • i feel sorry for the women and the 2 kids its not fair the hoax callers should have been locked up and why do hoax callers wast valuble time for the fire service and waste fuel

  • @DanielMarriott Just wanna ask a couple of questions really. Obviously done for college and that. How on earth did you get the resources and such? Like an actual responding fire engine to the area and such? I mean forgive me if I'm wrong but for an amateur film I'm thrown aback. Top marks.

  • @jameswsparker how dose it make no sense the girl that made the hoax call got the doncaster engines to ther call but wen the other people phoned for the actual house fire doncaster wer already out so the had 2 get engines from further away which took longer and coused the deaths of the 2 liitle girls

  • @jameswsparker o sorry your lacking common-sense

  • @rockerkid99 Oh God, this comment is a month old; I don't give anymore.

You comment is pointless, doesn't achieve anything; shut up. Good-bye.

  • who as cardles on the floor anywall but i hope people stop hoaxing 999

  • Very good video.

  • Comment removed

  • stupid girls what r they thinking

  • dem girls are BITCHES!!!!!!

  • They'll get done for it

  • great msg

but should u go in with out a hose if u know if ppl r in there to find them?

  • wrong, u always go in with a hose. training teaches that u never enter a burning building without firefighting media

  • over were im at we go in all the time with out a hose...mostly truck companies and rescue...but if the first engine comes in nd knows someone is in there they go in..

also why do u use a boster line?

  • in northern ireland, we're trained 2 use firefighting media before entering a burning building. so usually it will be a hose reel jet because it can give us a length of 54 metres from the pump therefore saving time instead of rolling out a couple of 25 metre hoses.

  • whats the dirrens and this really intresting...we use mostly 1-1/2 to 2 or 2-3/4 inch diamter attack lines..any ways thxs. learn something new evry day

  • great message and all

those people who do hoax need to take up a hobby or somethin!

  • I agree with you.... i also think that the penalty for making hoax calls should be bigger..... a long prison sentence.. should equal attempted murder in my opinion!!! Very good video with a strong lesson

  • great point great lesson

  • It looks amateurishly produced. But as long as the message is clear, It will make people think twice about hoax calling.

  • surely them kids playing would have seen a little bit of smoke, and run out crying for their mum? Well i would of when i were a kid. Bit unrealistic but the message is good

  • Why does she tell control it's number 43 when it clearly says 46 on the front door?

  • because it's a hoax call..

  • No, because it was the lady who phoned to report her house being on fire which wasn't a hoax call.

  • It was an oversight that wasn't discovered until we finished shooting. Most of the scenes we only had time to do one take as we were working with a budget of £0, using the free time of real firemen and control centre operatives.

  • Cheers for clearing that up buddy. Still a spot on video that hopefully will get the message across.

  • A very good video nice to see actual alarm call from the station and leaving with sirens on. Its a shame that there are people who have nothing else better to do them waste the emergency services time because as seen in this video it costs innocent lives.

  • that last bit upsets me

  • this is really true hoax calls can kill very well done for this video

  • Fuck Sake

  • very good, loved the camra work and the acting

  • Great video, well done to whoever made it..

  • This is brilliant mate, fantastic it looks like a college film, did you make it for college? if you did, I take my hat off to you

  • traced to a tower in Florida, which was where they found her. She was sitting there with her 2 kids, who we were supposedly searching for in a huge manhunt in the middle of the night, and we're 3000 miles (Oh, sorry, 4500 km) away! Maybe her kids grew up to be the girls portrayed in the video.

  • I'm sorry to hear that it seems to be such an epidemic over there. I assume you have public education, FFs making the rounds to schools and daycares? Shame that ppl don't get the idea. A couple years ago a woman called our FD saying she had run off the road in the middle of the night. Got the CG and the navy helicopters and everything involved. They finally traced the call by triangulating cell towers. She called back every half hour or so. First trace went to a tower in TX, the second one

  • fukin idiot

  • here here i agree mate

  • You're a bloody tosser, how can you say that, i hope you're one day put in that situation, i also hope that you are lucky and there is a reserve appliance that can get to you on time...

  • u prick fuck off and die u bastard

  • This Happened Once But Luckily We Had A Mutual Aid Respond In Time As We Were In Route To A Hoax Call Of An MVA w/ Fatalities

  • Hoax calls are not funny!!! Bottom line they are totally irresponsible, they waste the fire services' time and like this vid shows it can cost lives. It doesn't just hurt the families but for firefighters who have to bring out dead kids, it must be awful-keep fighting guys

  • stupid girls hope they are in jail

  • Good video, in the UK do you guys record the numbers thaat report fires?

  • ye why u ask

  • Because then you just phone back the number, tace it and arrest the girls

  • hope the fucking biches who made the hoax call laugh in jail for life. poor woman lost her two daughters because of them.

  • well i am yes

  • my brother is in the fire service in sheffield and he is fed up of goin to haox calls

  • fucking bitch sholdnt leave fucking candles alight and the bitchs sholdnt phone the firebrigade anybody i cath doing it will get there ass kicked cause it is a perfetic thing so who ever done it shold grow up and get a fucking life

  • calling 999 is free, but some people pay with their lives, and did you know that it costs the fire station every time to dispatch a vehicle.

  • One day i was chose to dispatch that day and someone called in that their friend was choking. Come to find out that two doors down a 93 year old man was having a heart attack and his wife spotted the the ambulance and flagged them down and the old woman got the ticket for a fake call and she sued because her husband died and the people who made the call were not found.

  • That is extreamly powerful message given out, The ending brought a tear to my eye. I seen this video by coincidence. There was a gang of teenagers outside last night that called the fire service as hoax call! It is extreamly sick how people can do such a thing!

  • A very good video, maybe people will think twice to hoax call 999 , someone you know might actually need it x

  • i dont want to be picky but shaftsbury avenue is in the opposite direction lol

  • This is what goes on in really life!

Im a firefighter in manchaster and the amount of HOAX calls we get is unbelievable.

Please stop hoax calling the emergency services people are dieing for these idiots trying to be funny!!

  • i had to call 999 cause some twats set fire to their garden, thank got it was all ok! the fireman said i did the right thing :) x

  • this is a powerful video gets the message out.

  • fuck me not funny no one should do that

  • great video. This is something alot of people tend to forget. im training through west midlands ambulance service, and i too have had some jobs that dont require a 999 call. it uses resources that other people need.

  • wow. this video is absolutley excellent. did you film this?

  • 4:49 - Credits :p

  • oh lol, soz i always comment before i finish watching the video. u did a great job filming it =)

  • Brilliant video!, certainly gets the message across.

  • Bloody hell dan - good work

    Reverend JC

    Frantic Romantic

p.s. we need to meet up and do shit it's been far too long

  • thats a good hard hitting video that, well done to the ones that made it. Hopefully the idiots who turf us out on hoax calls will watch this and think twice before doing it.

  • Never ever leave candles unattended in a room with small children

  • remarkable video that outlines a REAL issue.... well done to the people who put it together.....

  • it made me cry at the end! i guess thats wot really happens with hoax calls

  • The woman shouldn't smoke.

or leave her kids in the house alone especially with candles

and the 2 girls should ring the fire service when there is no fire.

    theres no point

    you get a criminal record

    and in serious trouble

people who call hoax calls are

    TIME WASTERS (TW)

  • this video is so moving especialy from 4.20

hopefully more people will realise the importance of the fire service and not waste there time

  • very good video & it should make everyone think before calling 999 for nothing. My only thought would be a house fire persons reported would be a minimum 3 pump job where i am.

  • Maybe that sort of call should be a 3 pump job, but what if the other available appliances are tied up dealing with other emergencies and hoax calls.

Last year there was a fire on the road where I live (3 miles from a major city), the first pump arrived within 5 minutes but the second pump took 20 minutes as it had to come from a village several miles away and was manned by retained fire fighters. All the other full time appliances and men where busy on other calls.

  • Hi GANESHAKLI, All calls to 'FIRE' will get a 2 Pump attendance, weather it be to a house, flat, factory or shop fire (apart from cars or vans on fire unless on a motorway) if there is several repeat calls to the same incident known as muliple calls then additional pumps will be mobilised to the incident, I presume the only reason why one machine was seen in this video is because the stn needed the other pump to maintain fire cover and respond to 999 calls.

  • Hi Calum,

I was replying to crazycartercrew on a previous page, where he said "My only thought would be a house fire persons reported would be a minimum 3 pump job where i am". I was pointing out that while it should have been a 2 or 3 pump call, if all other appliances are out then the Fire service will do the very best they can with available appliances.

Our fire service & the appliances are manned by brave & professional crews. I am so glad I live in a nation that has men of this caliber.

  • Thank you for the comments both of you. Just to clarify, the point the film is trying to stress is: Hoax calls divert fire engines from real emergencies, in this film there was only one fire engine in the station because it was a small village. The second engine came from the nearest available location which was Sheffield(being a larger station it has more free engines) and had to travel quite far thus unable to save the children.

  • By any chance are you a fire fighter??

  • Shut up thomas the sk8 dude, i know most ov these firefighters in South yorks u dnt know wot ur on a bout, u dnt know the grim places and the s**t that they see, an incident like this happened a few years ago and a girl burned to death 500 yards from the prank call!

  • God no, props to the firefighters and all, and screw the people who prank call them. This shit is terrible and those firemen are really brave, but I just thought that the situation seemed a little bit silly

  • sozzzz duede i meant henrytheights cot confuzzled :S

  • if you can't say something nice henrytheights then please dont say anything at all. your comments are very uncalled for and to be honest you appear to be in the minority!

  • Honestly how thick would you have to be to throw a blanket STRAIGHT onto a candle and not notice?

  • well the idea was to make it obvious, you know, cos its aimed at like 10 year old kids.

  • spose yeah. It's really gets to the point, like but I just thought that bit was a little bit stupid. Could have made it look more accidental, y'know what I mean?

  • very good

  • just shows how stupid some people are!

  • brought a tear to my eye. great vid!

  • realy good video
