  • The Beatles would've kicked these guys in their asses. This is a perfect example of why they were so much more popular than everyone else - they did this same song, and with 1000 times more balls.

  • What you have to remember is this is the sanitised Epstein version of Gerry and the Pacemakers. If you had gone to Liverpool in 1960/61 you would have found a far edgier Gerry and a Pacemakers that were seen as the best band on Merseyside........and asll this froom a devout Beatles fan

  • in general i think its right. beatles score tons of hits here, way more than stones who are still at it. so yeah, i think theres some to it, but this tune ain't pacemakers. so nothing new even by Gerry and boys.

  • Nice cover - maybe a bit too 'nice'. Gerry weirds me out - when he does his plastic oversize grin for the camera, for a brief, horrifying moment I think I'm looking at a (somewhat) young William F. Buckley performing his Skull & Bones Initiation Dare at the mic a decade or so late, after he graduated from Yale.
