Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
I'm a huge fan of Gerry and the Pacemakers - I just heard about their new original DVD series. Check it out at :youtube(dot)com/profile?user=britishinvasiondvds#g/u
The Beatles would've kicked these guys in their asses. This is a perfect example of why they were so much more popular than everyone else - they did this same song, and with 1000 times more balls.
Great Video never seen this one before Awesome ,Thanks For Posting This Classic -,Kick Ass Rock n Boogie Piano Player -who was that Piano Player ?????????
G&TP's pianist was Leslie Maguire, who was born on 12/27/41, This British group, had 11 hits in the U.S. between 1964 and 1966, from "How Do You Do It" and "Ferry Cross the Mersey" to "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying." Gerry Marsden,. who is still active today, was their highly distinctive and warm-hearted lead singer.
I like some of the stuff that GATP do but this song isn't one. It requires a rawness that Gerry doesn't have. Now Lennon, he could sing the heck out of this song!
Now isn't this better than baseball caps, pants down passed the ass, gathered at the shoe tops, gang hankies, holding a gun sideways, contorted hand movements, not speaking the English language?
What you have to remember is this is the sanitised Epstein version of Gerry and the Pacemakers. If you had gone to Liverpool in 1960/61 you would have found a far edgier Gerry and a Pacemakers that were seen as the best band on Merseyside........and asll this froom a devout Beatles fan
those of us who lived this had a great time. RIP Fred Marsden the drummer. rock on Gerry and the rest! No new stuff to come after us! sorry but so true! line dancing came from England with this dance!
in general i think its right. beatles score tons of hits here, way more than stones who are still at it. so yeah, i think theres some to it, but this tune ain't pacemakers. so nothing new even by Gerry and boys.
GREAT COVER, you gotta understand Rock & Roll and some of its History to appreciate this, Nothing like Gerry & The Pacemakers, seems like a cover before The Beatles.
Why not just appreciate the guy's contribution without putting it down? It's like Jim Morrison said, when you disrespect an artist you are only disrespecting yourself.
Nice cover - maybe a bit too 'nice'. Gerry weirds me out - when he does his plastic oversize grin for the camera, for a brief, horrifying moment I think I'm looking at a (somewhat) young William F. Buckley performing his Skull & Bones Initiation Dare at the mic a decade or so late, after he graduated from Yale.
Watch the little tanned geezer make a mess of his timing during the dancing.Lovely selection of grins to camera from Gerry-five years on he still had the same sideparting while the Beatles were doing LSD...

Now this is pure rock and roll; in Chuck Berry's tradition. The people are excercising some sort of line dance at the end. LOL

agreed.
this video shows very crearly why the Beatles got so big and these guys never made it.
They were not espontaneous, there's no energy at all.

omg, that girl blinking (02:00) made me crack up so hard! LMAO
