How does Hitchcock practice with his teams when he's working? I'd be surprised if he could even hold himself up on a pair of skates. Look at recent photos of the guy...he really needs to make an effort to reduce. I worry about him.
Why do reporters ask the dumbest fucking questions? "What did you see on that?" Then he says "Looks like he wasn't ready", to which Captain Kangaroo gave the right answer........"No shit!!"
@gretzkysyotes I don’t know, I think in this case it was just so bizarre that the reporters were reluctant to just come out and say it was incompetent. The reporter kind of opened the door for Hitchcock to say it himself, more or less, which was probably the right thing to do in that case.
I have no idea why Ed Snider believed that letting Ken Hitchcock go was the answer to the Flyers problems in 2006-07. He just used Ken as a scapegoat for the teams struggles early on that year. I would take Hitch back in a heart beat, cause John Stevens SUCKS as Flyers coach. Hell, I'd even take Terry Murray over Stevens. I seriosly hope Stevens is fired this summer and that Snider goes out and gets either Lindy Ruff or Ted Nolan as coach. Stevens sucks!
wow i could not have put it any better but unfortunatley the inquirer said snider said no management changes would be necessary so im as angry as your going to be
I don't know what Snider is thinking then...I figured he would understand after their playoff elimination that the Flyers do not play a full 60 minutes out of lack of effort, motivation, etc..and that it reflects on the coach. It seems that the only way our upper management is going to fire him is if the team were to start 1-6-1 or somethin like that or just really be headed in the wrong direction to start next season. I hope it doesn't come to that...
well last this past year we had a bad start and no changes were made in honest, hitch got fired bc richards was not ready for the 07season and he led the way to complain about hitch's hard ass style just how primeau did barber since stevens won the calder cup with carter nitty jones richards etc and since rtchie has a 13year contrast their going to try to get a coach that pleases him, stevens had the most bench minors for us horrible lines and he should have called giroux inthestartoftheseason
@Crawford1987 Hitch got jobbed by Clarkie's terrible personnel moves -- specifically going out and signing plodding defensemen Mike Rathje and that guy who won a cup in Dallas. What the hell is his name? Played for Hitch there. Anyway, those guys were soooo slow the puck never left Philly's end when they were on the ice. Ironically, Pronger was available back then and Clarkie passed on trading for him, reasoning that signing those two big defenders would be a better move. Hitch took the shaft.
Well, when you look at the jumbotron while someone burns you for a shitty goal from the redline, I think Niittymaki had it coming. Hitchcock was actually gracious compared to what he could have said.
yea me too...we should have never fired Hitch. It was not his fault at all...hell i would take him over montone Stevens right now. Regardless of what they do in the playoffs...we need an EXPERIENCED coach...ie John Torterella/Jaques Martin.
